31 Name: NGAI YUEN MING Class: 4A An to Mr. Earth Dear Mr. Earth, How are you? Are you feeling better now? I am so sorry that we pollute the environment, for example smoking, driving, cutting down the trees, using too many plastic bags and consuming too much electricity. We also use too much water. However, we ought to have a change now. We can follow the three Rs that are Reuse, Recycle and Reduce. For reusing, we can reuse the things many times, such as plastic bags and plastic bottles. We can also donate our old clothes and toys. For recycling, we can use the waste separation bins. For example, we put waste paper into the blue bin and plastic bottles into the brown bin. For reducing, we can cut back on how much we use. We can save electricity and reduce the use of water. We follow the three Rs and do a lot of things to help you. We hope you can be happy! Also, I will try my best to protect you too. I promise to reduce water and electricity, reuse plastic bags and bottles, and recycle waste paper in my daily life. I hope you will get well soon! Yours sincerely, Damon 28

When we arrived, we sang songs and performed some funny tricks for them. I also asked them some questions, like, Do you like eating bananas? or Do you like my handmade presents? When she said, Yes, it s very cute. I felt all relaxed. 29

33 I also helped clean the floor and had lunch with the elderly. I felt exhausted in the end but I felt happy because the elderly were welcoming. Finally, the elderly said to me, You look charming and you re funny. You always make me laugh. We went back to school at five o clock in the afternoon. 39 Name: YUEN NEEM Class: 4C An to Mr. Earth Dear Mr. Earth, I m so sorry to hear that you re very sick now. Are you feeling better? I would like to express my regret for not taking better care of you. I m so sorry because before I was extremely selfish and made you unhappy. For example, I used to take too long when I took showers, wasting a lot of water, and I also used to waste my food often, and not to mention not finishing it. I also used to use too many electrical appliances at once and last but not least wasted a lot of paper. When I use paper, I only use one side and never use both. And now that you re sick, I feel extremely guilty, so I ve decided to break my bad habits and help save you and the environment. I ought to put recyclable materials into the recycle bins and also reuse things like cardboard boxes and old glass jars. Next, I ll also start taking shorter showers and saving water as well as writing s instead of letters to save trees and paper. Finally, I m going to use fewer electrical appliances at once. I hope my new habits will help you. Hope you get better soon. Love, Neem 36

50 Name: CHENG HEI YIU Class: 6A The Life of Miss Star Twinkle twinkle little star. How I wonder what you are Yup! That s me. I m twinkling main character in this song. My home is the pitch-black galaxy. You can see us everywhere! Uh!, that is, in the sky of course. From the past to now, we help humans in many ways. In the past, we guided millions (or maybe zillions) of lost sailors and helped them go back home safely. Also, they made up beautiful myths about me and my pals. I am their inspiration and source of creativity! Nowadays, we shiny, bright, lovable guys just keep the humans busy. Scientists are still figuring what we really are. I would love to write a book about myself and send it to the non-stop working Earthlings (I really admire their hard-working character!) but I don t think that s quite possible! So humans! Guess you ll have to work harder to find out about me then! I mean, I totally love serving as it brings pure happiness but my life isn t as ideal as you thought it would be. I mean, stars sorry we can t talk. Every time I want to say hi to my neighbours, they only blink as if nothing happens. 47

51 Once, a young sailor got lost in the Pacific (or we stars call it The Big Blue Dot because a storm hit his boat. He must have had very poor experience as he followed the Capricorn route whereas he should have followed our direction, the Taurus! I sparkled as hard as I could and I thought my cells were going to explode! So, the FOOLISH sailor noticed me and followed my direction. Thank goodness! We could communicate with each other! I have an enjoyable, happy life but I still wish that I could speak. Well but once in a while, I feel grateful that at least, I know how to write! Bye Bye! 48

52 Name: NG MAN YAU ENEZ Class: 6A It s Time to Say Goodbye It s Time to Say Goodbye On 23 rd May, more than 80 students of SKH Wei Lun Primary School set off to the Hong Kong Award for Young People Duke of Edinburgh Training Camp in Tai Po for a two-day camp. The students and teachers went to the destination with excitement. After the students settled down, they all dressed up in their casual clothes. After that, they went to the hall and started to play some warm up games such as high five and collector to train their response. The students played happily and joyfully! Then, they had a night gathering activity. The school invited a mission group to play games, for example, they played one dollar and twenty cents and charade and sang some hymns with us. The games were very interesting and amazing! The students enjoyed the games very much and laughter filled the air. Next, one of the members told them a touching story. Some of the students even cried! The story taught them to treasure their friendships and be grateful to our God. 49

53 The most unforgettable experience for Melanie from 6A was a yellow frog in their bathroom. There were a lot of screams coming from Room 1 since the girls were frightened. The frog was caught by a staff person and he set it free. The next day, the students participated in various outdoor activities like obstacle course and rock climbing. The games were very meaningful as they could also learn how to help their teammates to pass the challenges. What a memorable camp! Joyce from 6A said the camp was really awesome and incredible. She thought the camp definitely enhanced their friendship and strengthened their teamwork. Their primary school lives were almost over but their friendships will last forever! 50

My master brings me to work every day. I am blue and I have a silver apple tattoo on my back. I like my job because my master greets me gently and takes good care of me. Sometimes, it is very itchy when he touches me softly. When I am tired, my best friend charger will give me energy. The most unforgettable experience in my life was terrible. I remembered that one day my master was talking with his friend on me. Suddenly a man banged into him and I fell down. I fainted very soon. I guessed my face got cut. At last my master brought me to the doctor. I heard the doctor saying the good thing that my brain didn t hurt much but the bad thing that I lost some memories. I hope I can have a case so that I won t get hurt easily. I hope my master will love me till the day I die. I want to remind the humans that we are not really super, so they have to take care of us and be grateful to have us! 53

59 Name: YUEN EVELYN GRACE Class: 6B The Life of Cello Actually I am a kind of large musical instrument. Though I don t have many fans like my sister Violin and Viola, I still have plenty of lovers. You may know who I am. I am CELLO. I think my voice is better than my youngest sister Violin and my second young sister Viola because I practice a lot when they are not here. Lots of musicians, such as Mozart and Vivaldi, liked Violin. It is not fair. Anyway today I am going to tell you all about my life. I was born in Italy in the 16 th century. I am the oldest person in my string family. Now I am 500 years old. I am a granny now. I have lots of grand children. They live in China, New Zealand, England and all over the world. When my master uses my friend, Bow, to massage me, I feel the warmth of friendship. So when she massages me, I have the courage to sing beautiful songs. She also gives me lots of care, such as bathing and make-up. I am so happy to stay with her, but now she is not here anymore because she is dead. Now I am staying in a home of a collector. I can t sing anymore. I can t even get massaged by my friend, Bow. My life is so boring. I hope one day I can stay with my master in heaven happily. 56
