CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION In this chapter, the researcher will present the introduction of the research. The introduction contains the background of the study, identification of the problem, limitation of the problem, statement of the problem, objectives of the study, and significance of the study. A. Background of the Study Language is human need to communicate to each other. People use language to deliver information, to interact to each other, and make a relation in daily social life. By language, people can express their feeling by using words in their own language. People can express their feeling by using language then write it into a beautiful and meaningful word to make a song by its lyric. Lyrics in every song could have implicit or explicit meaning based on the use of words. A language is consist of all the sounds, words, and infinitely many possible sentences, when you know language you know the sounds, the words, and the rules for their combination (Fromkin, Rodman.et.al: 2003) According to Miller in White (2010: 5), listening is not merely talking, it means taking a vigorous human interest in what is being told us. You can listen like a blank wall or like a splendid auditorium where every sound comes back fuller and richer. 1

2 By listening to songs, students will get a new knowledge on it lyrics. Students can learn a new vocabulary, pronunciations, and its meaning in every word. Music will make language learning much more interesting than common learning activities. By listening to English song, students can learn in fun way without having to take expensive media or leaving country. They can have an interesting activities while learning English language. Many students are bored when they are in the classroom, so here the researcher tries to give students fun way in learning English language by using song and its lyric. It may be effective because now days many students are listening to a song as their hobby. Most of English songs use figurative language on their lyrics. The use of figurative language actually can make the meaning of the lyric more interesting and lively. There are many types of figurative language such as: metaphor, personification, hyperbola, simile, symbol, irony, etc. Therefore, students can find many figurative languages in every lyrics of the song. The researcher chooses Justin Bieber s album Purpose because there are many figurative language that can be found this album. Justin Bieber is known not only as a young soloist singer, but also as a famous singer among the adolescent, so every student are familiar with him and his song. It will be easier to catch student interest in English language learning especially in listening class. Then it will be easier for the researcher to analyze figurative language in Justin Bieber s songs.

3 B. Identification of the Problems In the song lyrics there are many aspects that can be analyzed by researcher. Some of those aspects that can be analyze in the song lyrics are the use of adjective, adverb, and verb words or clauses, the slank words, the ambiguities of lyrics, the use of swear words, the use of figurative languages, moral values, etc. From all of aspects that can be analyzed in the song lyrics, the researcher chooses to analyze the use of figurative language that found in the song lyrics of Justine Bieber s album entitled Purpose. In figurative language, the researcher found there are some problems that may be faced by students in learning figurative language, the problems as follows: 1. The students are not able to mention the types of figurative language 2. The students get a difficulties to analyze the types of figurative language 3. The students has less knowledge about the types of figurative language C. Limitation of the Problems Based on the identification of the problems, many aspects that can be analyzed in the song lyrics. All of the aspects are reasonable to be analyzed in song lyrics but it is impossible for the researcher to analyze all of them. Therefore, the researcher limits this research by analyzing one aspect only. In this research entitled The Analysis of Figurative Language Found in the Song Lyrics of Justin Bieber s Album Purpose and Its Implementation to Teach Listening, the researcher limits her research to focus only in

4 analyzing figurative language that found in the song lyrics of Justin Bieber s album Purpose. The analysis will not expand to other aspects. D. Statement of the Problems The problem statement of this research focuses on figurative language in Justin Bieber s song lyrics in album Purpose. The statement of the problem identified as follows: 1. What are the types of figurative languages that found in album Purpose by Justin Bieber? 2. How is the implementation of figurative language in Justin Bieber s song lyrics in the album Purpose in teaching listening? E. Objectives of the Study Based on the statement of the problem, the researcher has some objectives of the study as follows: 1. To find the types of figurative languages used in the song lyrics in album Purpose by Justin Bieber 2. To describe the implementation of figurative language in the song lyrics of Justin Bieber s album Purpose in teaching listening F. Significance of the Study The researcher hopes that this research will help the reader to get more advantages form the result because the meaning of figurative language is very

5 general to be known for every reader. This research hopefully will be useful for the following ones: 1. For teacher The research is expected to help teachers to make this classroom activity more interesting in listening class and is also expected teachers to use song as a fun media in teaching activities. 2. For students Hopefully, the research can help the students to know more about figurative language. The students can differentiate song lyrics whether it is figurative language or not. It is hoped that the students can identify easily about figurative language in the song lyrics.

CHAPTER II REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE This chapter is discussing about the theories that has a relation with the research entitled The Analysis of Figurative Language Found in the Song Lyrics of Justin Bieber s Album Purpose and Its Implementation to Teach Listening in Senior High School. A. Theoretical Review 1. Figurative Language A figurative language is figure or similarity of something with another thing, so it can be clearing, interesting and alive (Pradopo, 2012: 62). Figurative language has its strength to beautify sentences with its style. Perrine (2011: 61) says that figurative language is a language that can not be taken literary. She also says that a figure of speech is any way of saying something other than the ordinary way. In figurative language, people may find some words or sentences that have a beautiful, expressive, gloomy, or impressive meaning on its sentences. Figurative language offers some interesting ways to convey language using extra language style and the election of words. By using language style in figurative language the reader will be interested to read the song lyrics and the try to find the meaning of it. 6

7 Figurative language is simply a colorful way to express an otherwise boring statement. For example, She is as pretty as a picture describes or compares a pretty girl to a beautiful piece of art. 2. Types of Figurative Language According to Perrine (2011: 61), there are 13 types of figurative languages. They are imagery, simile, metaphor, metonymy, apostrophe, synecdoche, overstatement (hyperbole), symbol, allegory, irony, paradox, personification and understatement. In this chapter, the researcher makes some additions in the types of figurative language according to some experts on their book. They are oxymora (Morner and Rausch in Flayih, 2009: 30), pun(leigh in Djavarofa, 2017:6), onomatopoeia and (Spivey: 2011, available at ). The researcher uses many types of figurative language to expand the research in the Justin Bieber s album Purpose. a. Imagery Perrine (2011: 49) states that imagery may be defined as the representation through language of sense experience. The word image perhaps most often suggest a mental picture, something seen in the mind s eye. While according to Siswantoro (2005: 49), imagery can be interpreted as mental picture, that is picture, photograph, or painting of thought created as result from the reader when they

8 comprehends a poetry. Imagery may be defines as imagination of something that the writer thought then interpret it on the sentence of song lyrics. In imagery, the writer uses a word to make a sense to create a certain picture in the reader s mind. Imagery usually uses a sensory details. For example, The sweet scent of green tea had met us as she opened the door. b. Simile Perrine (2011: 61) states that simile means comparing things that are essentially unlike, the comparison expressed by the use of some words or phrase, such as like, as, than, similar to, resembles, or seems. Simile is a types of figurative language that using comparing words or phrase on its application. The comparison words or phrases used to compare something that unlike. According to Wren and Martin in Siswantoro (2005: 24), simile is a comparison made between two objects of different kinds which have, however, at least one point in common. The comparison between two objects has a similarity. Usually marked by some words such as like, as, so, appear, seem, more than. Simile found on the poetry written by Roberts Burns, he is a romantic poet from England at 18 th century. Here is the poetry: A Red, Red Rose

9 By Robert Burns O my luve, is like a red, red rose That s newly sprung in June O my luve is like the melodie That s sweetly played in tune From another expert, Nurgiantoro (2009: 62) defines that simile is a figurative language that comparing one and another thing which using comparison words such as: as, if, like, as well as, same, and another comparison words. c. Metaphor Perrine (2011: 61) says that metaphor is comparing two things but in the metaphor the comparison is implied. In this comparison, metaphor doesn t need a comparison words or phrase to compare two objects. According to Wren and Martin in Siswantoro (2005: 27), metaphor is an implied simile. It does not, like the simile, state one thing is like another or acts as another, but takes that for granted and proceeds as if the two things were one. In another theory, Becker in Pradopo (2009: 66) states that metaphor is a figurative language like a comparison, but it is not using comparison words, like, as, same, if, etc. For examples: He was a lion in the fight. The pillow was a cloud when I put my head upon it after a long day.

10 d. Personification Personification consists in giving the attributes of a human being to an animal, an object, or a concept. It is really a subtype of metaphor, an implied comparison in which the figurative term of the comparison is always a human being ( Perrine, 2011: 64). According to Siswantoro (2005: 29), personification is an illustration of inanimate thing or object that visible or abstract which is treated like human. Actually, this figure of speech often appears on daily conversation around us. Personification is treating an inanimate thing as human, an inanimate thing can doing something like human do. The illustrations of personification usually treating an inanimate thing likes it can walks, run, breathe, etc. Here are some examples: The old train crept along the narrow path. Flame ate the house. The wind whispered many truths to me. e. Apostrophe According to Perrine (2011: 65), apostrophe means addressing someone absent or dead or something nonhuman as if that person or thing were present and alive and could reply to what is being said. Apostrophe has a close relation with personification because both of them are illustrated an object or thing that treated as human. To know the apostrophe in a song

11 lyric the reader should read the whole lyrics not only in one or two sentences. Siswantoro (2005: 32) says that apostrophe is treated thing or object as human by having a communication with them. The object gives a soul to act like human. For example, Sweet Tames! Run softly till I end my song. From the example the poet shows that he is accosting Tames river which located in London and rive between 2 city to flow softly. f. Allegory Allegory is a narrative or description that has second meaning beneath the surface. Although the surface story or description may have its own interest, the author major interest is in the ulterior meaning (Perrine, 2011: 88). Sometimes allegory defines as metaphor and sometime related to symbol. In the detail, allegories may have more than one meaning. g. Hyperbole or Overstatement Hyperbole or overstatement is simply exaggeration, but exaggeration in the service of truth (Perrine, 2011: 101). In hyperbole, we may assume something with over thinking and feeling. The object usually treats with over explanation or using over word illustration.

12 According to Wren and Martin in Siswantoro (2005: 34), in hyperbole a statement is making emphatic by overstatement. They also states that language style is usually used by poet in illustrating object, idea and others by giving over quality pressure to get intensive effect. For example, She said you crossed that river seven million times. It explains that she crossed the river million times and it was something impossible to do. That s why is categorized as overstatement or hyperbole. h. Metonymy Perrine (2011: 65) states that metonymy is the use of something closely related for the thing actually meant. Metonymy substitute some significant detail or aspect of an experience for the experience itself. According to Pradopo (2009: 77), metonymy defines as a attribute of object or the use of something that has a close relation to exchange the object. Metonymy is like a figure of speech in which the name of one thing applied to another with which it is closely associated. Metonymy usually called as a substitute the name of figure of speech. i. Irony Like paradox, irony has meaning extended beyond its use merely as a figure of speech (Perrine, 2011: 104). Verbal irony, saying the opposite of what one means, is often confused with

13 sarcasm and with satire, and for that reason it may be well to look at the meanings of all three terms. Sarcasm and satire both imply ridicule, one on the colloquial level, the other on the literary level. Sarcasm is simply bitter or cutting speech, intended to wound the feelings (it comes from Greek word meaning to tear flesh). Satire is a more formal term, usually applied to written literature rather than to speech and ordinarily implying a higher motive: it is ridicule (either bitter or gentle) of human folly or vice, with the purpose of bringing about reform or at least of keeping other people from falling into similar folly or vice. Irony, the other hand, is a literary device or figure that may be used in the service of sarcasm or ridicule or may not. It is popularly confused with sarcasm and satire because it is so often used as their tool; but irony may be used without either sarcastic or satirical intent, and sarcasm and satire may exist (though they do not usually) without irony. Though verbal irony always implies the opposite of what is said, it has many gradations, and only in its simplest forms does it mean only the opposite of what is said. In more complex forms it means both what is said and the opposite of what is said, at once, though in different ways and with different degrees of emphasis.

14 In irony, people sometimes use sarcasm to mock someone or something. For example, After Bella spilled all holiday gifts onto the floor before reaching the table, Rose shouted, "Great job!" Rose doesn't mean that Bella did a good job. Ironically, Bella did a lousy job. By being sarcastic, Rose is mocking her. j. Synecdoche Synecdoche is the use of the part for the whole. In the figurative language, synecdoche and metonymy are so much alike that it is hardly worthwhile to distinguish between them and the latter term is increasingly used for both (Perrine, 2011: 65) Siswantoro (2005: 39) states that synecdoche is a figure of speech where the manifestation reflected in a part is used to designate the whole. A hundred wings flashed by, as normally, people will think that it is impossible to find a hundred wings to fly. People will associate their thought by totality, that is bird, where the wings is only a part of bird s body. k. Paradox Paradox is an apparent contradiction that s nevertheless somehow true. It may be either a situation or a statement (Perrine, 2011: 100).

15 Meanwhile Siswantoro (2005: 41) says that figure of speech paradox utters a phenomena that contradicting, but in a fact showed the reality. There is no big difference between Perrine s statement and Siswantoro s statement. Both of them told that there is a contradiction in the situation or statement in paradox. For example l. Understatement According to Perrine (2011: 102), understatement is saying less than one means, may exist in what one says or merely in how one says it. Understatement is the opposite of overstatement. It means that the songwriter saying less in the meaning of lyrics. The song writer may not explain what he means clearly with less word. If for instance, upon looking for dress together, someone says, this looks like an expensive dress, someone is actually stating less than the truth. m. Symbol Perrine (2011: 80) says that symbol may be defined as something that means more than what it is. Symbol means explaining something more. For example, Dirty dogs stole my wallet at the bus, the meaning is the thief has stole his wallet. According to Frederik (2011: 49), a symbol is a sign that points to a meaning beyond itself. In this sense all words and all

16 signs of every kind are symbols. A spoken or a written word in its context tends for certain thing. n. Oxymora Oxymora or Oxymoron is a literary figure of speech in which opposite or contradictory words, terms, phrases or ideas are combined to create a rhetorical effect by paradoxical means (Morner and Rausch in Flayih, 2009: 30). Oxymoron may called as a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms. For examples Jumbo shrimp, Friendly fire. o. Onomatopoeia Perrine (2011: 65) states that onomatopoeia is the use of words which, at least supposedly, sound like what they mean, such as hiss, snap, and bang (2011: 198). Onomatopoeia (on-uh-mat-uh-pee-uh) is a word that describes a natural sound or the sound made by an object or a certain action. Dad lit the fuse, and POW! the firecracker exploded. A horrible Crash! sounded as the vase hit the floor. Remember the Zoom! Zap! Pow! on the old TV shows?. These are onomatopoeias (Spivey: 2011, available at ). The researcher describes that onomatopoeia is the use of words that mimic sounds, they appeal to our sense of hearing and bring a description to the hearer.

17 p. Pun According to Leigh in Djavarofa (2017: 6), pun is a figurative device used in everyday speech, often in poetry and as it is found within the academic literature. It usually has a humorous function in the text and has more than one possible meaning. For example To write with a broken pencil is pointless. q. Cliché Clichés are statements that have been heard so often that their once colorful play on words has become expected and stale. For example, Birds of a feather flock together. A rolling stone gathers no moss. Every cloud has a silver lining. Many hands make light work. Many times you will hear, Well, you know what they say which will usually be followed by a cliché like the ones listed above. Then the person to whom the cliché was directed may follow up with the questions, Who are they anyway? What do they know? (Spivey: 2011, available at ). 3. Song Lyric A song is a short piece of music, usually with words. It combines melody and vocals, although some composers have written instrumental pieces, or musical works without words, that mimic the quality of a singing voice ( Song can be

18 used as a media in teaching listening to the students. In the other hand, song is one of many ways in relaxing people s mind. In a song there is a lyrics, lyric is a series of verses, the longer sections of the song that tell the story, and a refrain, a short phrase repeated at the end of every verse ( When people speak or sing the lyric, they can express their feeling or their thought. Song lyrics provide many kinds of figurative language. Therefore, song lyric can be used as a media in English language teaching. Students can analyze many types of figurative language in every song lyric. They will have a fun learning by using a song and its lyrics. 4. Purpose Album Purpose is the fourth studio album by Justin Bieber, which was released on 13 November Purpose is less an album than a deliberate act of repositioning. As much as 2012's Believe was intended as Justin Bieber's micro-adjustment into adulthood, the

19 advance singles for Purpose, "What Do You Mean?" and "Sorry", are his first hits without any traces of teen-pop. They're designed much in the spirit of Where Are U Now", his single with Skrillex and Diplo from earlier this year, where Bieber's voice fluctuated through animated throbs. Produced, respectively, by MdL and Skrillex (who contributes six productions to the record), "What Do You Mean?" and "Sorry" are vivid tropical house tracks that sound like sunlight drifting down through palm fronds. Bieber's voice often resembles a breath contorted inexpressively through notes; here, he lets it weightlessly fall through textures. They are his best performances to date, allowing him to flex a rhythmic playfulness without communicating an iota of legible emotion ( 5. Biography of Justin Bieber Justin Bieber is a Canadian pop star who was discovered via YouTube. His debut album, My World, went platinum in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

20 Born in 1994 in Stratford, Ontario, Canada, to a single mother, Justin Bieber took second place in a local talent competition at a young age and later turned into a YouTube phenomenon. He signed a record contract with Usher and became the first solo artist to have four singles enter the Top 40 before the release of a debut album. His album My World has gone platinum in several countries, though he later experienced a ton of media exposure resulting from offensive activity. He nonetheless made his comeback in 2015 with his first No. 1 song, that is "What Do You Mean?". With all his accomplishment, it makes him popular around the world moreover among adolescent. ( ). 6. Teaching Listening According to Brown (2007:8), teaching is showing or helping someone to learn how to do something, giving instruction, guiding in the study of something, providing with knowledge, causing to know or understand. In teaching activity, sometimes it is difficult to teach someone without any media, they need some media to get more interest in learning activity. A media will be very useful to deliver a material in teaching learning activity, especially in teaching English. According to Goss in Gilakjani and Saburi (2016), listening is a process of process of understanding what is heard and organizing it into lexical elements to which meaning can be allocated. Listening

21 can be defined as a process of receiving what the speaker says, it can be giving information, answering question, delivering a speech, etc. Usually the listener has a purposed why they are listening to the speaker. Therefore, teaching listening means giving knowledge to the students through what s students heard. Teaching activity is using sense of hearing so the students can response it by writing or saying what they heard. In teaching listening it is must have a specific purpose in every subject. For the result of teaching listening, the students will get a new skill and knowledge. Teaching listening will be much more interested if there is an interesting media for the students to learn it. B. Previous Study In this part, the researcher will explain other theses that have a similarity with this research. The researcher uses two theses as a previous study. The first previous study is a thesis entitled An Analysis of Figurative Language Found on 1989 Album by Taylor Swift and its Application in English Language Teaching conducted by Yulianti (2015). English Department Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Science. Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo. It is a qualitative research which aims to analyze the figurative language found on 1989 album by Taylor Swift and the application in English language teaching. The result shows

22 that there are eight types of figurative language found on song lyrics of 1989 album by Tailor Swift. They are 8 similes (22.85%), 7 metaphors (20%), 4 hyperboles (11.42%), 5 personifications (14.29%), 1 imagery (2.86%), 2 symbols (5.71%), 6 paradoxes (17.14%), and 2 allegories (5.71%). The second previous study is also a thesis, the thesis entitled A Study of Personification Words Found on the Song Lyrics of Angels and Airwaves Albums And its Application in Teaching Listening conducted by Riyadi English Department Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Science. Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo. It is a qualitative research which aims to analyze personification words found on the song lyrics Angels and Airwaves albums and its application in teaching listening. The result shows that there are twenty-two lyrics that contain personification words. All of the previous studies above are using descriptive qualitative research. The difference between this study and the first previous study is on the object research. The first previous study analyses an album from Taylor Swift entitled 1989 while this research analyses an album from Justin Bieber entitled Purpose, on the first previous study there is no specific purpose in what classes the application will be applied. There are similarities between the first previous study and this study. The firs previous study and this study use song lyrics and both are using descriptive qualitative research. The second previous study also has differences from this study. The difference between this study and the first previous study is on the object

23 research. The second previous study is only focused in analyzing personification words, it is one of figurative language types. The object of the study between the second previous study and this study is also different, the object analyses from second previous study is an album from Linking Park entitled Angels and Airwaves while this study an album from Justin Bieber entitled Purpose. There are some similarities between this study and the second previous study. The similarities are on the application of this study and the previous study and both of the studies are using descriptive qualitative research.

CHAPTER III RESEARCH METHODS By using research methods, it can help the researcher to find the result of this research. This chapter is divided into six parts. They are research design, data source, unit of analysis, instrument of the research, technique of collecting data, and technique of analyzing data. A. Research Design In this part, the researcher would like to explain what kind of research design that used in this research. Sugiyono (2010: 13-14) defines the research design into two types. They are qualitative research and quantitative research. Sugiyono (2010: 21) states that characteristics of qualitative research are as follows: 1. 96 NO SENSE [Intro: Justin Bieber] It don't make no sense 'less I'm doing it with you It don't make no sense 'less I'm doing it with you [Verse 1: Justin Bieber] The sun don't set the same 'Less you're watching it go down with me The bed won't sleep the same 'Less you're waking up in here with me Oh, my heart's a vacant house When you're gone away, it's so empty And love don't make sense when it's empty (Oh no) [Pre-Chorus] I've driven almost every car It ain't the same when I'm without you Been around a million stars None of them shine brighter than you The sky be so dark now without you Yeah, ooh, baby [Chorus: Justin Bieber] It don't make no sense 'Less I'm doing it with you It don't make no sense 'Less I'm doing it with you Oh been around the world Ain't the same without you It don't make no sense 'Less I'm doing it with you [Verse 2: Justin Bieber] Focus ain't the same If the picture ain't got you in it In every line my Emotions ain't the same If it ain't about you, I don't get it Ever since the beginning now You had that effect on me All I wanna do is you, oh I mean that so literally Don't nobody go harder than you All of the angels must be lonely now, without you, woah [Verse 3: Travis Scott] Time and time again I break a plan Without you, girl I ain't the man Could never be all I can be You overstand, I'm incomplete Apparently, gotta know I hate that How I'm supposed to take that? Boo'd up, missing all of that Gotta be laying in that Rolled up, put a flame to that Thought by now you would have made it back Be patient Won't you pull up to me now? Live forever young It s amazing I don't want to sleep 'less you at home

THE FEELING You are to me A part of me just like anatomy You're pulling me You're pulling me in like you're gravity [Refrain: Justin Bieber] I'm notorious for thinking you're full of beautiful Instead of hollow Sugar on your lips, it starts to kill Jagged like a pill, so hard to swallow I'm notorious for thinking you're full of beautiful Instead of hollow Sugar on your lips, it starts to kill Jagged like a pill, so hard to swallow [Bridge: Justin Bieber] I'm sinking faster and faster Between heaven and disaster Sorry if I make you feel like I'm standing on the borderline [Chorus: Justin Bieber + Halsey] Am I in love with you? Am I in love with you? Or am I in love with the feeling? I'm trying to find the truth, trying to find the truth But sometimes the heart is deceiving Can't get out of my head and I need you to save me If I am delusional then maybe I'm crazy In love with you, am I in love with you? Or am I in love with the feeling? [Verse 2: Justin Bieber] You give to me Everything, anything that I could dream And at least that's what it seems Could it be I don't know what's good for me? [Refrain: Justin Bieber]

LIVE IS WORTH LIVING Ended up on a crossroad Tried to figure out which way to go It's like you're stuck on a treadmill Running in the same place You got your hazard lights on now Hoping that somebody would slow down Praying for a miracle Ooh show your grace Had a couple dollars and a quarter tank of gas With a long journey ahead Seen a truck pull over God sent an angel to help you out He gave you direction Showed you how to read a map For the long journey ahead Said it ain't over Oh, even in the midst of doubt [Chorus] Life is worth living Life is worth living, so live another day The meaning of forgiveness People make mistakes, doesn't mean you have to give in Life is worth living again [Verse 2] Relationship on a ski slope Avalanche comin' down slow Do we have enough time to salvage this love? Feels like a blizzard in April Cause my heart, it's just that cold Skating on thin ice But it's strong enough to hold us up Seen her scream and holler Put us both on blast Tearing each other down When I thought it was over God sent in an angel to help us out He gave us direction, showed us how to make it last For that long journey ahead Said it ain't ever over Oh, even in the midst of doubt [Bridge] What I get from my reflection Is a difference in perception? From what the world may see They tried to crucify me I ain't perfect, won't deny My reputation's on the line So I'm working on a better me [Chorus] Life is worth living Life is worth living, so live another day The meaning of forgiveness People make mistakes Only God can judge me Life is worth living again Another day Life is worth living again

[Verse 2: Justin Bieber] I gave you attention when nobody else was payin' I gave you the shirt off my back, what you sayin'? To keep you warm I showed you the game everybody

CHILDREN [Verse] What about the children? Look at all the children we can change What about a vision? Be a visionary for a change We're the generation Who's gonna be the one to fight for it? We're the inspiration Do you believe enough to die for it? [Chorus] Who's got the heart? Who's got it? Whose heart is the biggest? Wear it on your sleeve Bet we can make a difference Who's got the heart? Who's got it? Whose heart is the biggest? Wear it on your sleeve Bet we can make a difference Oh yeah Who's got the heart? Oh yeah PURPOSE [Verse 1] Feeling like I'm breathing my last breath Feeling like I'm walking my last steps Look at all of these tears I've wept Look at all the promises that I've kept [Pre-Chorus] I put my all into your hands Here's my soul to keep I let you in with all that I can You're not hard to reach [Chorus] And you bless me with the best gift That I've ever known You give me purpose everyday Yeah, you've given me purpose in every way [Verse 2] Thinking my journey's come to an end Sending out a farewell to my friends, for inner peace Ask you to forgive me for my sins, oh would you please? I'm more than grateful for the time we spent, my spirit's at ease [Bridge] Oh, you are my everything Oh, you are my everything [Outro (Spoken)]

I don t know if this is wrong, because someone else is telling me that it s wrong. But I feel this so let me just like try my best not to let this happen again. We weren t necessarily put in the best position to make the best decisions You can t be hard on yourself for it, these are the cards you were given so you have to understand that s not who you are. You know you re trying to be the best you can be, but that s all you can do. If you don t give it all you got, you re only cheating yourself give it all you got but if it ends up happening, it ends up happening That s what happening with me, it s like God, I m giving it all I ve got, sometimes I m weak and I m going to do it. And it s like I m not giving myself grace, I m just like understanding that s how it is

BEEN YOU Feeling the reminisce Gone in an instance Blink of an eye No goodbye I had a notion Deep as the ocean Blue like the sky Oh my Of missing your loving Haunts me at night The ghosts are alive All of the memories Of serenity Dwindle in my mind All the time [Pre-Chorus] Like a permanent stain Wishing I could just wash away, away Hate our love was in vein But we're the blame For all the pain For all the pain [Chorus] If I would have known If I would have known If I would have known It could have been you (Woah, woah, woah) If I had the chance If I had the chance I'd make us brand new I never wanted to be Wanted to be Your enemy, no, no But if I If I would have known If I would have known It could have been you Been you [Verse 2] There repercussion

GET USED TO IT Subjected to my system Reflecting on the days When we used to be just friends Protected both our interest Our trust was in a bank That's where our hearts were safe [Pre-Chorus] And then we got closer Separated from my ex So we got closer Oh, in every visit Feelings got stronger Now this is out our hands Our love is here to stay [Chorus] So get used to me checking in All day Get used to me falling through Just to see your face There ain't a moment I won't need your brace Get used to me touching you Get used to me loving you Oh get used to it, eh Oh get used to it, eh Oh get used to it, oh and oh Get used to me holding you Get used to me woeing you Oh get used to it For life As long as you stand right by my side [Pre-Chorus] Keep growing closer Throughout October Oh counting down, it's almost Christmas Eve Oh seven days shy of New Year's Eve Then we'll be celebrating [Bridge] I ain't going nowhere I ain't going nowhere, oh no I ain't going nowhere I ain't going nowhere, oh no Put your faith in me I'll be all you need, I swear Yeah yeah I'm gonna be right here, yeah [Vamp] I know you getting used to it I know you getting used to it (Get used to it) I know you getting used to it I know you getting used to it (Oh get used to it) [Verse 2] And I'ma April shower you Forever if I May 'Til your flowers bloom in June Make sure that our fireworks Be your 4th of July

WE ARE [Chorus: Justin Bieber] You ain't gotta question it You already know the answer The truth'll make us relevant Hurts but it's necessary Don't want us to lose what we are, no Don't want us to lose what we are Lose what we are [Verse 1: Justin Bieber] If it ain't broke then we don't need to fix it Believing in that she say'll have you livid No they won't be happy 'til your love is over They tryna break us up but you don't wanna get it They ain't never had your back like I got it They ain t never had trust like how we got it So they can't help but to come and hate on it They see what we got and you know they want it Don't question it [Verse 2: Justin Bieber] It's like you're always looking for a problem But there ain't enough equations for you to solve 'em So quick to turn nothin' right into somethin' Take the numbers out my phone, go 'head and call 'em They ain t ever had my back like you got it They ain't never had a chance, how you got it So they can't help but to come and hate on it They see what we got and you know they want it, don't question it [Verse 3: Nas] She texts me "How's you love life?" And "How are you?", I said "I'm good" They only get as close as you allow them to We should be closer together Warm oceans, better weather Instead of us playing games forever She says whatever I says whatever Who get you wetter than the half moon wearer? HSTRY sweater Serendipity when you with me Swear you love that one thing we did That one time in that one place Blew your mind, you got my mind gone when I'm home I'm serious girl, a much older dude, a whole 42 I've accomplished my goals, it's only you You and I in that Wraith, retired my pimp super-fly cape Just my Mets cap and my batch and I'm straight Esco

TRUST [Intro] Woah oh baby, yeah yeah Woah, woah [Chorus] If I believe in love And you believe in love Then we could be in love, somehow If you want the best for us Like I want the best for us Then we gotta learn to trust right now [Verse 1] Don t let this effort go to waste Put our all in it Don t wanna be left with the question, why? Let s be honest with ourselves Did we really come this far Just to watch it go down the drain? Some people separate, yeah Don t think we should separate When we both adore one another You re a dream come true We should start over brand new That s what we oughta do, yeah [Outro] Trust me right now Yea, yea, yea Oh we gotta learn to trust now Yea, yea, yea Girl you gotta learn to trust me now Yea, yea If I believe in love like you believe in love Then we could be in love If you want the best for us Like I want the best for us We gotta learn to trust We gotta learn to trust Yeah, ohh, ohh [Pre-Chorus] Sometimes the heart can see What s invisible to the eye All you gotta do is listen to your deepest feelings They don t ever lie Giving up is immature We got so much more to live for They don t wanna see us together now Let's be strong enough to endure, oh [Verse 2] Growing pains come along with these changes Some people get closer

ALL IN IT Don't do nothin' 'less your heart's in it Heart's in it, heart's in it Don't do nothin' 'less you're all in it All in it, all in it [Verse 1] If you got a twenty for all of your tries Twenty for all of the times The times you got back up, woah Could be a billionaire in a year That's how you gotta think 'til you're there On the regular [Pre-Chorus] If you had a diamond for all of your passion Diamond for your dedication You could be icy like caking Icy for every occasion Gotta go hard, yeah That's all I'm condoning Love is a component You re the only opponent Gotta seize the moment [Chorus] And don't do nothin' 'less your heart's in it Heart's in it, heart's in it Don't do nothin' 'less you're all in it All in it, all in it Come again each time 'Til the water runs dry Oh don't do nothin' 'less you're all in it All in it, all in it [Post-Hook] Oh, oh Oh Oh, oh, oh, oh [Verse 2] If I had a guitar missing 5 strings A guitar with only one string I could only play one song, ooh A simple melody Simple enough to make the world sing Strong enough to make your mood swing You know what I mean [Post-Hook] Oh, oh Oh Oh, oh, oh, oh All in it, all in it [Vamp] See, growing up, I I always felt like I had to be the best at everything Cause I, I just didn't think I was good enough And, and maybe if I was good at something that I'd get recognition from that but I quickly found out that I wasn't gonna get the recognition that I wanted or that I needed because Because people aren't perfect and by not being perfect you sometimes can disappoint people And with God it's like he's perfect

And he never disappoints So I just get my recognition from him And give him recognition Source : 3/15/2017 7:56 PM
