3 NOTES ABOUT THE DIRECTORS, STAFF AND CAST JERRY H. BILIK (Director) comes well heralded to direct his first AACT play. A seasoned director (formerly for the U ofm Gilbert and Sullivan Society), he is also a composer, arranger, actor, and U-M Instructor in Music Theory. He has composed and/or arranged music for network television (Pat Boone Show), motion pictures (The Best Man), and many political and industrial films. He has been arranger for the U-M Bands since 1952 and Music Coordinator for the U-M Television Center since 1960, with over twenty published compositions to his credit including the recently completed composition of the official theme song for the University's Sesquicentennial Celebration. MAC JOUBRAN (Special Dance Designer) is a University student majoring in Near Eastern Languages and Literature. He has worked with the Bolshoi Ballet in its Detroit and East Lansing appearances; has danced with Detroit's Ricardeau Dancers, the Detroit City Ballet, and the Flint Ballet Theatre. He recently performed in Musket's WEST SIDE STORY; this is his first experience with Ann Arbor Civic Theatre. ROBERT E. TAYLOR (Fred Graham/ Petruchio) makes his Civic Theatre debut with the distinction of having recently won the Metropolitan Opera Regional Finals in Cleveland; he participated in the finals at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. He has appeared with the San Antonio Symphony, the D'Oly Carte Co., and the Bay City Players, and was the staff vocalist with WOIA-TV in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Taylor is currently a voice major at the University. SHEILAH RAE BERNSTEIN (Lilli Vanessi/Kate) will be remembered for her excellent job as Choreographer for last season's GYPSY. A voice major in her junior year in the School of Music, her list of credits includes roles in FIO RELLO, BELLS ARE SINGING, FLOWER DRUM SONG, OKLAHOMA!, SOUND OF MUSIC, and the recent Musket production of WEST SIDE STORY. SUNNY LAFAVE (Lois Lane/Blanca) is a secretary in the University Department of Electrical Engineering, but was once a professional radio, TV, and night club singer. She apeared as Renee in GYPSY and has been a stalwart backstage worker for AACT. ROGER L. TRIM (Bill Calhoun/Lucentio) is Publications Assistant for Eastern Michigan University and a part-time reporter for the Ypsilanti Press. He last appeared as Tulsa in GYPSY, and in GUYS AND DOLLS. BOB GREEN (First Man) has appeared in Civic Theatre performances including CANDIDA, MIRACLE WORKER, and THE CRUCIBLE. Bob denies he is type cast in his current role I JERRY PATTERSON (Second Man), past president of AACT, has a long list of acting credits to his name, including roles in GYPSY, THE GRASS HARP, ROMANOFF AND JULIET, and many, many others. JAMES RUSSEL PETERSON (Gremio) has performed in the Northland Playhouse production of UNDER THE YUM YUM TREE in addition to University productions of CYRANO DE BERGERAC and THE FIREBUGS, while a student here. GARY ALLEN WOLD (Hortensio) is a speech major at the University who has appeared in University Player's HENRY VI and THREEPENNY OPERA. CHARLES D. STALLMAN (Harry Trevor/ Baptista) is a Research Assistant who performed in Ypsf Player's WHO WAS THAT LADY, and in AACT's one-act production, THURSDAY EVENING. H. E. GENE GILLIAM (Harrison Howell) was last seen in NIGHT OF THE IGUANA and A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE for AACT and Ypsi Players WHO WAS THAT LADY. Offstage Gene is an electronic designer.
4 FRED GIBILISCO (Paul) has been in AACT's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE and appeared in Ypsi Player's WHO WAS THAT LADY. CHRISTINE HANSON (Helen) is a freshman at the University, majoring in journalism. This is her first time on stage for Civic Theatre. ED ARMBRUSTER (Ralph, the stage Manager) is a Lecturer in Environmental Health, School of Public Health. He last performed as Foley in NEVER TOO LATE. BOB REINHART (stage Doorman) is the Director of Communication Services for st. Joseph Hospital. He has appeared in NEVER TOO LATE, GYPSY, and A SHOT IN THE DARK for Ann Arbor Civic Theatre. BURNETTE STAEBLER (Assistant to the Director) has written and directed numerous political skits, plays, musicals, and is currently the Producer for the Ann Arbor Junior Theatre. A newcomer to Civic Theatre, she has acted with the Dramatic Arts Center, Spring Drama Season, University Players and School of Music Operas. JOYCE VAUGHN (Rehearsal Accompanist) is a piano teacher and homemaker. This is her first AACT experience; she was formerly the pianist with the Theatre Guild in Madison, Wisconsin. JOHN FORD (Technical Director) is the Technical Director for this season's Ann Arbor Civic Theatre productions. He is a anthropo-geography student at the University. DON G. STEWART (Production Manager) designed the award winning set for ROMANOFF AND JULIET. He is a building supply salesman who has been active in many Civic Theatre productions. ALICE CRAWFORD (Set Designer) -wife of Clan and a local artist has designed some 20 sets for AACT, the most recent being the set for A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE. AILENE MENGEL (Costumes) has starred in CANDIDA, and has done all costuming this season, did costumes for CANDIDA and SHOT IN THE DARK last season. CAROLYN AISHTON (Chorus; Dancer) is a French teacher, making her AACT debut tonight. FRAN ARMBRUSTER (Chorus) will be remembered for her role as Grace in NEVER TOO LATE. ELIZABETH BURT (Chorus; Nurse) is a nurse offstage as well. She has recently come to the states from Australia. CLAN CRAWFORD, JR. (Chorus, Cab Driver, 2nd Messenger, Waiter) is an attorney and past president of Civic Theatre. He has been in dozens of Civic Theatre productions, last seen in GYPSY and OKLAHOMA!. ANN DESAUTELS (Chorus; Nurse) is a U-M secretary making her stage debut tonight. BETTY ANN COULD (Chorus) is the motheroffive, and past president of AACT. She has appeared in many Civic Theatre roles such as in TEA AND SYMPATHY and GUYS AND DOLLS. Also acted with Dramatic Arts Center. STUART M. GOULD, JR. (Chorus; Philip; 4th Messenger) a local physician, will be remembered for his roles in Civic Theatre's original musical RX and GUYS AND DOLLS, OKLAHOMA!, and ABE LINCOLN.

6 LARRY HARBISON (Chorus; Gregory, 1st Messenger) makes his second AACT stage appearance tonight. He debuted last season in GYPSY; Larry is an Ann \ Arbor High School student. HELGA HOVER (Chorus; Flower Lady) is an active Civic Theatre member. 3\e has appeared in many AACT productions, including major roles in NIGHT OF JANUARY 16, I AM A CAMERA, and JOAN OF LORRAINE. She has danced in all AACT musicals, and as the last part of the cow in GYPSY. ROBERT JOHNSON (Chorus, 3rd Messenger, Nathania!) is a University student making his Civic Theatre debut tonight. TERRY JONES (Chorus; Dancer) is a University senior making his Civic Theatre debut. He has appeared In MUSKETS and WEST SIDE STORY. MILO JORDAN (Male Chorus; 5th Messenger; Innkeeper) is the News Director of WOIB and WOIA-FM. He has had many years of acting experience, and this is his first performance with AACT. ELLEN PHILIP (Chorus) is a secretary at Bendix Corp. and this is her first stage experience with AACT.
