The Tyneside has held a place in the heart of the region for over seventy years. As the last surviving Newsreel theatre still operating as a cinema full-time in the UK, the Grade II-listed building is an important nationally recognised piece of heritage lovingly restored to preserve and celebrate the grandeur of its original 1937 art deco design. Every space in the Tyneside is available for hire and are full of possibilities. Just 30 seconds away from Grey s Monument in Newcastle s City Centre and main public transport routes, the Tyneside is a contemporary and exciting venue that can deliver exactly what you need. Originally the News Theatre screen, The Classic is a magnificently restored auditorium which features balcony seating in its Classic Circle and a stage ideal for awards ceremonies and photo opportunities. FACILITIES 2K DLP projection with 5.1 Dolby digital sound and can present BLU-RAY, DVD, 35mm, DCP and digital files. Facility to project free to air television and satellite broadcasts, laptop presentation available, dedicated event WI-FI and raked seating. It was a great privilege to be given access to the Classic Cinema for our recent filming in connection with the BBC2 production of United. The Classic is a unique and outstanding venue which we would have struggled to match anywhere in the country. It also comes with moveable sofa seating in the front row for extra space. If you want to get your message across big then The Electra is ideal! The Tyneside Cinema was a great venue for us to hold our series of breakfast briefing s at. The building holds a special place in Newcastle and the community and we always get great feedback from the events we hold there. It s the ideal auditorium for discussions, presentations and preview screenings. Combine The Roxy with The Gallery for a perfect auditorium and reception-based event. The Digital Lounge is particularly suitable for meetings, lunches, and training events. The Digital Lounge was a great space for our stakeholder event. The staff at the Tyneside were very accommodating and helpful, meeting all of our technical and set-up needs. 12 THE FIGGIS SUITE FLOOR 3 Capacity: 30 (Theatre), 20 (Classroom, Boardroom), 25 (Cabaret) Screen size: 3m x 2.3m Room: 6m (L) x 4m (W) x 2.8m (H) The Figgis Suite is a great space for training events, board meetings and workshops. This generous light and airy space can fit in up to thirty people, and its cinema screen and blackout blinds mean that you can get your message across perfectly. Plus it s got a magnetic wall for those all-important brainstorming sessions too! FACILITIES 3,000 Lumen Panasonic projection can present DVD and digital files. Laptop presentation available, dedicated event WI-FI, blackout blinds and magnetic brainstorming wall. Pretty much everyone was smitten with the room and a number of them were talking about organising their own events in there if any of them ask me for details I ll pass your name on. It s the room that gives you something extra for interviews, staff get-togethers or meetings and is equipped to inspire you creatively and give you the room to formulate your ideas hence the name! Alongside our eclectic range of fine beers, ales, wines, soft drinks and damn fine County Durham coffee, we have an ever changing specials board making us the perfect venue to hold an informal meeting, post works drinks event or private dining occasion. Opportunities are available to hire the curtained area at the back of the space for client meals or film screenings and the whole Bar Café space can be hired early morning for breakfast events. We can cater for all dietary requirements and if you are looking for something special the kitchen will be happy to work with you to create a bespoke menu.
