4 Audition Helps Find a buddy! Don t be afraid to ask questions. Look at your students now for possible All-State candidates (3rd and 4th graders this year) Download the prepared pieces to familiarize yourself with them; start asap before school ends; meet in the Summer, if possible, or make practice videos; plan time in August to fine tune Go on the FEMEA website to the All-State tab, click and read the information provided Practice recording for your understanding and to be sure your software is compatible for uploading Videos in.mov or.mp4 Tutorial is available on the website:

5 Audition Helps LOOK at the rubrics as the language is specific for each category of the audition. If you have a question, ask. Getting it wrong could cost your student points. KNOW what the Disqualifiers are! If it says, «do not show face» then don t let the face be seen! No edits to videos are allowed. This includes no digitizing the face, school name or anything else. Practice singing in canon with student giving the starting pitch, F A sample audition recording is online to view. It is not the only way to make the audition but will give you a good start in getting it right.

6 Adjudication Adjudication Application is online July 2, 2018; deadline for applications is September 3, 2018 to Past President, Marie Radloff at Adjudication requirements: minimum of Orff Level I completion towards Orff Certification; minimum of 3 years in music classroom; a brief paragraph explaining why you would like to judge auditions An official Adjudication Endorsement will not be required but will be reviewed as necessary This is a paid service with the expectation that all auditions assigned will be viewed and judged

8 Fees Teacher must be a member of FMEA by September 15, 2018 deadline Orff fees may be paid separately or together with All-State Chorus $15 audition fee $45 Student Participation fee $25 Teacher Participation fee Monies will be spent on music, copyright fees and permissions, specific materials requested by conductors Orff pieces are usually in collections which brings special permissions and fees
