2 Press Release Spearheading a radical new wave of Celtic-based dancefloor sounds, Sketch is the brainchild of drummer and producer Iain Copeland, and the perfect roof-raising act. The line-up features the stunning Gaelic vocals of Darren Maclean, with fiddler Charlie Stewart and Angus Binnie on pipes/whistles and Seumas Maclennan/Luc Mcnally on guitar. Self-styled as traditional music for the 21st century, Sketch splice inspired instrumental and vocal work with powerhouse, live loops, beats and grooves. The band s freewheeling improvisational prowess offers an exciting and dynamic live experience, as proven by several incendiary festival performances from 2011 through to New Sketch CD Highland Time Following on from their debut album Shed Life, Highland Time is the new release from techno-trad fusion group, Sketch. Cultivated by percussionist and programmer Iain Copeland, Sketch s sound is rooted firmly in traditional music with branches that extend into the realm of modern dance music and beats. Featuring a host of Scotland s finest musical talent. 3 Sketch are... Angus Binnie Pipes and Whistles Born and raised in Cromarty and now living and teaching Bagpipes in Fort William. Angus has been organising and playing at club nights up and down the country for years and also brings a great passion for electronic music to the band. Charlie Stewart Fiddle Charlie studied fiddle with Elizabeth McClay and then at the junior department of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland where he was taught by Lauren MacColl. He now studies bass on the BMus Jazz course at the Conservatoire. Seumas Maclennan Guitar and Bouzouki One of the real stalwarts of the music scene on the Isle Of Skye. Regular member of many of the bands and sessions on the west coast of Scotland. Occasionally featuring.. Ross Ainslie Darren Maclean Ali Levack Luc Mcnally Sketch are made up of a core band with a number of choice musicians always available to stand in when needs must. It s the modern world! We re fantastically lucky to have a choice of these guys! Iain Copeland Drums / programming Iain Copeland, originally from Glasgow, Scotland, is well known to fans of the groundbreaking Traditional/ Celtic music group Peatbog Faeries. Iain has also been a member of many other high profile Scottish groups such as Session A9, The Unusual Suspects and Babelfish, he has even put in a couple of appearances with Scottish Acid Croft legends Shooglenifty in New York in 2005!

5 pa and backline requirements Points to note: 1. The Sound System should be full range with a sub bass capability. 2. The mixing consoles should be ANALOGUE and of a professional standard with 4 band, 2 sweep EQ. Please no Yamaha GA24, definitely no Behringher Eurodesk. 3. The sub bass system should be stacked on the floor (not the stage) so as to decrease stage rumble. 4. The Hi/Mid Boxes should be stacked or flown well above audience head height. 5. The system should be of a professional standard (not Bose, Peavey, Behringer or Thomann) and able to deliver db avg. SPL to the centre of the room. 6. All drivers should be functional and of the same kind! 7. There should be Stereo 31 Band Graphic EQ or parametric system across the FOH system sends. This should be available to the engineer Band Graphic EQ across each monitor wedge send, again available to the engineer. 9. The FX Rack should be stacked at eye level where possible. Effects and Inserts: 2x Stereo Digital Reverb - Yamaha / Lexicon / TC etc. M3000, M2000, M1 or SPX990 preferred. No Alesis, Behringer, Art, DOD etc 1x Digital Delay with Tap feature. 8 Lighting Spec brief list of the lighting requirements for the Sketch. There should be a minimum of three colour wash, both front and back stage. There should be four scan lights, all dmx controlled with a minimum spec of a Hpe Miniscan. There should be a smoke or haze machine on the stage. Everything should be controlled from a single console situated no more than ten feet from the front of house sound desk. This is a fairly basic set up however if there are any problems with meeting the spec or you have any questions please do not hesitate to call Iain on Be aware that not meeting the spec could result in extra charges being applied.
