2 GYMNASTICS Rhythmic Gymnastics At the basic level, rhythmic gymnastics is all about developing physical fitness, strength, flexibility, agility, balance and eye-hand-foot-coordination all of which girls and women of all ages seek for their own health and physical well-being. By starting with basic body positions and apparatus skills through progressions and interactive games, children will have fun and develop their abilities in the sport of rhythmic gymnastics. Preschool Rhythmic Gymnastics Ages 3-5 This course will focus on development of gross and fine motor skills using structured activities, obstacle courses, music and alternative apparatus to learn coordination, body awareness, basic body positions and shapes. Recreational Rhythmic Gymnastics Ages 6-18 These courses focus on basic skills and progression with the body and with each of the five apparatuses (ribbon, hoop, ball, clubs and rope) as well as musicality. Introduction to Rhythmic Introduction to Rhythmic Intermediate Rhythmic Intermediate Rhythmic Introduction to Rhythmic Intermediate Rhythmic Recreational Acrobatic Gymnastics Various opportunities and benefits are available through acrobat gymnastics. It teaches physical fitness, team building, communication and trust. It offers a wider age range for athletes as well as less wear and tear on a body. Great artistic expression for all gymnasts. 3 Tumbling The base for all forms of gymnastics begins with the strength and agility found in tumbling. Tumbling is a fabulous cross training program for any child athlete. Mommy & Me Tumbling Ages 18 months - 3 years Begin a love of fitness together while fortifying your child s body awareness, mobility, and independence. The Mommy & Me Tumbling Course enhances your child s social awareness and fosters language development through sensory stimulation while strengthening your parent/child bond Recreational Tumbling Teaching technique for safety and success while building upon progressions to ensure that your child can be strong in any arena. 4 MUSIC Elemental Music Ages 3-5 Ages 5-8 An interactive and fun, group-based introduction to the imaginative world of music for young children. Music Exploration Ages 9-14 This course explores a wide variety of instruments, genres, and cultures. This is a great course for students to be exposed to an area of music that they may want to focus on in the future. Music Theory I Ages 14-up This is a foundational course in the nuts and bolts of music, including history, fundamentals of key and rhythm, and basic composition. Music Theory II Ages 15-up This is a course that delves deeper into the world of composition, arrangement, and instrumentation. Completion of this course can provide students with a jump-start into a collegiate music program or enhance any ammeter musician s ability to understand and execute their repertoire. Youth Ensemble Ages This course is an opportunity to train the ear and the voice in small group setting. Ensembles will present their work in performances. Bonneville Chorale Ages 18-up Building on our heritage of building world-class volunteer choirs, the Bonneville Chorale is an opportunity to perform professional literature in a formal concert setting in collaboration with guest artists and other ensembles. Piano Ensemble Ages 15-up Learning the importance of playing well with others while enjoying an exciting repertoire of music arranged for multiple musicians at the piano is the focus of this course. Students will learn and perform music as a group, complemented by individual study and preparation. 2

5 Private Vocal Instruction Ages 12-up Private Violin Instruction Private Piano Instruction Private Guitar Instruction Private Viola Instruction THEATRE & PUBLIC SPEAKING Creative Movement/Imagination for Young Children Ages 2-4 Story Theatre Ages 5-10 Students will learn about space, how to move in different ways, play games, create stories and use their imagination. Students will read and act out published children s stories as well as make up their own stories to share and perform. Students will learn the basic requirements for a story, (character, setting, conflict, plot, and theme). Beginning Acting Ages Students will dig deeper into the elements of a story. They will read short and age appropriate plays to produce on stage with and in front of their peers. Students will learn different types of theatre and produce them in front of their peers. Intermediate Acting Ages Students will explore character work more and be given the opportunity to create and be another character. They will read, watch and perform age appropriate material. Students will begin energy work. Students will write their own short plays and collaborate with their peers. 3

6 Advanced Acting Ages Students will work together to write, produce, and perform multiple plays. Students will read age appropriate material and identify the different parts of the story. They will learn more about energy and working together as a team. Beginning/Intermediate Acting Adults Students will learn how to create an interesting and successful character on stage. Students will study and present different plays to their peers. Students will work with the writing department to successfully write and produce a short play. Advanced Acting Adults Auditions Ages Auditions Adults Students will build on their knowledge of theatre by studying different works and working with their peers to produce them on stage. Students will learn more about the elements of theatre as well as explore the different genres. Students will learn proper audition techniques. Subjects will include: how to enter and exit an audition, how and what to prepare for different kinds of auditions, how to answer audition questions, etc. Students will prepare multiple monologues, songs, and even learn a short, simple dance. Public Speaking Ages Ages Adults Students of all ages will learn the steps to create a successful speech and how to present it with confidence in public. Students will be required to write different kinds of speeches and present them in front of their peers. 4

7 WRITING We provide studio style classes. Our primary emphasis is providing the student with writing experience. Creative Writing Ages 8-12 Ages Ages 16 and Up Dive into many genres including poetry. Digital Writing Ages Ages 16 and up Explore online blogging, journalism and composing texts across media as well as genres. The Plot Thickens Ages 8-12 Ages Ages 16 and up Build your story line through tried and true methods. It Builds Character Ages Ages 16 and up Learn how to create a strong personality for your hero or heroine. 5
