2 Find your music First, find your music There are many places online that offer free sounds and music Enter FreeSound Freesound

3 Click on Freesound

4 Click on Search

5 Enter type of music Classical

6 Finding the music you desire When you find the music you desire, click on the audio wave

7 Overview of page: Type of file Look to see name of the file

8 Overview of page: Waveform preview Can preview the audio and see the waveform actual as it plays

9 Overview of page: File detail Detail about the individual file

10 Overview of page: Duration time Actual time length of the file

11 Overview of page: File size Download file size

12 Download file To download, right click on download

13 Save Target As

14 Import music Voice Track Once you have imported your podcast, import your music

15 Select music file Voice Track Select desired file and click open

16 New music track appears Voice Track seconds of of music track track is is barely barely noticeable when when compared to to full full Voice track track Music Track

17 Use Zoom Tool Voice Track Music Track Click on the Zoom Tool to increase the view so it is easier to manage

20 Copy block of silence Voice Track Copy highlighted block of silence Music Track

21 Use Selection tool to insert silence Voice Track Use Selection tool to mark insertion point for block of copied Silence Music Track

22 Paste block of copied voice track Voice Track Music Track

23 Allow 10 seconds of silence Voice Track Allow about 10 seconds of Silence Music Track You may need to add and/or trim Silence as needed

24 Intro of voice track complete First 10 seconds are now complete Voice Track Music Track

25 Trim excess of music track Trim music track to be equal to the 10 seconds of the voice track Voice Track Music Track Use selection tool to highlight audio you desire to delete

26 Delete highlighted block from music track There are several options to delete highlighted block Hit delete key Voice Track Hit space bar Music Track Crtl+K Edit>Delete

27 Music track ready for Fade Out effect Look of music track once the highlighted audio is deleted Note how both tracks line up - silence of voice track to audio of music track Voice Track Music Track

28 Highlight 2 to 4 seconds Voice Track Use selection tool to highlight 2 to 4 seconds of music track that you desire to fade-in to voice track Music Track

29 Apply Fade Out to music track Select Fade Out form the Effect menu

30 Music track is complete Fade-out effect is applied If you desire sharper fadeout, apply the effect one more time Voice Track Music Track

31 Apply Fade in to end of voice track Voice Track Music Track

32 Play intro and save Voice Track Music Track

33 Recording interviews in Stereo From Edit menu choose Preferences

34 Check Preferences Confirm that you have chosen Stereo in Audacity Preferences

35 Confirm recording Line-in Confirm that Microphone or desired Line-in are chosen

36 Begin recording Click Record Stereo track begins to record

37 Split Stereo Track Once recording is complete, click on audio track and choose Split Stereo Track

38 Delete right or left track Delete one of the tracks by clicking on the X in the upper left corner of the Track Control Panel

39 Turn stereo track to mono Turn stereo track to mono by once more clicking on Audio Track and choosing Mono

40 Save and edit Audacity will automatically turn stereo track to mono track
