Each item you audition requires it s own audition package. DVDs and paperwork submitted after this time will not be considered for inclusion in the Festival. 5 CENTRAL COAST DANCE FESTIVAL 2016 SOUND INFORMATION SHEET APRA COPYRIGHT REGULATIONS Please read the following information carefully before making your final decisions regarding your choice of music for the CCDF. Q. How many pieces of music can be used within your dance? A. You can use as many as you want. Q. What are the specifics with this? Can the songs blend or fade into each other? A. They can indeed fade into each other, and start right as the other finishes but they cannot be segued into each other, meaning you CANNOT remix them to cross into each other. Q. Does each song need an obvious pause before one starts? A. No, you just can't segue them (see bold, underlined above) Q. Can songs be modified to fit into the 3 minute time frame E.g. remove a verse or chorus? A. You CANNOT alter the structure of the work. You could use a portion of the work, but you couldn't really remove a chunk of it because that alters the structure. You'd be better off starting the song mid- way through in order to get it into the time frame, than you would be removing a chunk from the middle. Q. What are the licensing agreements for songs from musicals? A. You can use songs from movies and musicals, as long as you ARE NOT portraying any of the story line, characterisation or themes from that movie or musical. So they couldn't perform Circle of Life from The Lion King dressed as African animals for example, but they could do it dressed in 1920s flapper dressed, as that is not even slightly related to The Lion King. Q. Can 'mash up' (multiple songs put together) music from Youtube be used if the owner of the 'mash up' has been notified through Youtube? A. NO, you need to be using music from legal sources (i.e. CDs or itunes). It's not legal to download songs from YouTube so they couldn't use this as a source.

6 CENTRAL COAST DANCE FESTIVAL 2016 SOUND INFORMATION SHEET FOR MUSIC THAT NEEDS TO BE EDITED BY CCDF COMMITTEE TEACHER IN CHARGE TEACHER TEACHER CONTACT PHONE NUMBER SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL PHONE In order for the CCDF committee to edit your music, you will need to do the following : Ø supply EXACT information on what you need done eg. Cuts, fades, track times, duration of songs etc Ø be prepared to meet with the CCDF committee sound people at a time & venue that suits them when your music will be edited, should this be required. All information for edit cuts MUST be provided on the sound edit sheet. If you have a number of cuts, please copy the table if needed. Ø More than one cut or difficult cuts, the teacher in charge must be prepared to meet with the sound people. Ø Burnt CD s supplied MUST be of a high quality for copying to be successful. Ø Any missing information, sound will not be completed for the festival. 8 COPYRIGHT INFORMATION The following information must be completed fully in order to fulfill copyright requirements & be considered for inclusion in the festival. ** Burnt CDs and ITunes music MUST STILL have all information if you cannot find the CD numbers you will need to put down the relevant ITunes information. ** You CANNOT use music found on youtube/spotify/sound cloud this is not legal & not covered in our APRA agreement Please fill in a separate form for each piece of music you have DO NOT put them all on this one.
