2 FLIGHTS ELECTRONIC TICKETS: Electronic ticket copies are not necessary for check-in; only a valid passport is required. A manifest with E-ticket numbers, Record locators and Seat assignments for each tour member will be posted to MyKI. Changes to seating can be done at airport check-in. PASSPORT COPIES: We have a full set of copies of your passports in the KI office. We urge you to take a set of copies or make sure each member of the group has their own copy. This will be required should a passport go missing during the tour. CHECK-IN AT CINCINNATI AIRPORT: We recommend arriving at the airport at least 2.5 hours prior to departure. Delta Airlines is located in the Main Level. The group will be checked in individually and checked luggage will be checked through to Munich, Germany. Each passenger will be issued 2 boarding passes: Atlanta (ATL) and Munich (MUC). After check-in, each passenger must clear a security checkpoint before proceeding to the departure gate. CONNECTION AT ATLANTA AIRPORT: Connection time: 3 hours 12 minutes Arrival and departure gates are assigned on day of travel. On leaving the aircraft, please check the electronic monitors for upto-date gate information. ARRIVAL AT MUNICH AIRPORT: On leaving the aircraft, please follow signs for Arrivals and Customs and Immigration. Once your group has cleared customs with claimed baggage, please proceed to the Arrivals area. Your tour guide, Ilse Mang, will be waiting for you here to escort the group to the awaiting coach. 3 FLIGHTS RETURN TO USA: The group will be transported to the Prague Airport for check-in 3 hours prior to departure. Delta Airlines is located in Terminal 2. Each passenger will be issued 2 boarding passes: New York (JFK) and Cincinnati (CVG). Checked luggage will be checked through to Cincinnati. After each passenger is checked in, follow to the signs to Airport Security and then to your departure gate. CONNECTION AT NEW YORK KENNEDY AIRPORT: Connection time: 5 hours 17 minutes On leaving the aircraft, please follow signs to US Immigrations and Customs. You will need to claim all checked luggage and clear customs checkpoint. To check-in luggage for the connecting flight, simply hand it to a Delta Airlines representative in the baggage re-check area before exiting customs. 4 INSTRUMENTS ABOUT TRAVELLING WITH YOUR INSTRUMENTS Being an instrumental group, you will have instruments and equipment that need to be checked as luggage, and instruments which can travel as carry-on instead of a cabin bag. Attached is the list of instruments you provided us with, separated into checked and carry-on items. All your checked instruments must be in hard travel cases or they will not be accepted. All instruments travelling as checked items are classed as a 2nd bag and will likely attract a fee Items over the standard size and/or weight specified by Delta Airlines will be subject to additional charges on top of the 2nd bag fee PRIOR TO TRAVEL Dr Westgate will go to the airport ahead of time, the week before departure to meet with a supervisor/manager to negotiate the pricing for your baggage and check-in management for your departure day. Feel free to ask them to support the school. Charges will be assessed for each passenger for the standardsize items. There is always room to negotiate the charges. Unfortunately it can only be done on the day, but please know that the staff does have some discretion so again, feel free to ask them to support the school. AIRPORT PROCEDURES FOR CHECK-IN Delta Airlines check-in desks are located on the lower level of the Main Terminal at Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Upon arrival, please ask for the supervisor on duty and have them assist you with checking in instruments as excess baggage. If you were able to meet with a supervisor/manager a few days prior then follow any instructions you may have received. DISCOVER EUROPE - YOUR WORLD OF MUSIC 4

5 INSTRUMENTS Once you know which counters you are to go to, all passengers should proceed to these check-in counters as a group with all luggage including carry-on. Ensure each piece is tagged/named Delta Airlines generally requires individual payment for each baggage transaction ( by cash or credit card) at the completion of check-in. However please check with the supervisor on the day as they as they may allow 1 payment for all transactions. Delta Airlines does not have a system for prepaying the baggage charges it has to be done at the airport on the day of travel (in each direction). Delta Airlines offered a discount rate for charges for the oversize items if they were pre-paid. The charges have been prepaid by KIconcerts. You will be given a copy of the transaction and receipt to present at the check-in counter. After each passenger has checked in, they can all wait in a group or proceed through security in smaller chaperone groups. They will need boarding passes and passports which will be checked before screening. These can then be put into your hand luggage before your carry-on items go through the scanners If you should encounter any unexpected problems at the airport, then please call our after-hours emergency number: Our air manager will be able to assist you. 14 PERFORMANCE PARTNER QUARTET AGAPE Named after one of the four ancient Greek words for love, the Quartet Agape is a young string quartet based in Vienna. Its members come from four different countries and from both sides of the Atlantic. The variety of their biographical and professional backgrounds represent the unbroken international importance of the Austrian capital for classical music. Anton Yeretskyy, who plays the 1st violin, was already a member of the National Philharmonic Orchestra in his home country Ukraine. The 2nd violin Anna Zerdecka was born in Latvia and has received her musical education at The Academy of Music and Performing Arts of Vienna. Dean Whitside, who plays the Viola, was born and raised in New York. Besides his participation in the Quartet Agape as an instrumentalist Dean also works as conductor. The cello player, Agathe Nebl, has started her musical career in France before coming to Austria. These four musicians have joined in the Agape Quartet in order to share their enthusiasm for music. Since its foundation in 2012, the Agape Quartet has developed a rich repertoire, ranging from Haydn to Shostakovich. Occasionally, the quartet also turns into a quintet by inviting renowned piano players. Together, they play masterpieces of classical music like César Franck s Quintet or Schumann s Piano Quartet. The Agape Quartet has already performed both inside and outside of Europe with concerts in, among others, France, Germany, Italy, and China. DISCOVER EUROPE - YOUR WORLD OF MUSIC 14
