2 POLICY FOR DISQUALIFIED RABBITS: Any Rabbit that is disqualified during judging will NOT be eligible to be placed For Sale. The only exception would be if entered into the incorrect class, i.e. buck in doe class, etc. Colorado State Fair requires that any rabbit disqualified for malocclusion or non-standard quality be removed from the Small Animal Building at completion of show. If the rabbit has been entered in the CSF Point Show, it may not be shown in that show. No refunds on cancellations of disqualified rabbits. (Any exception to this would be at the discretion of the Judge.) Unloading and Pickup of Small Animals: All Small Animals (Poultry, Rabbits, Pigeons, and Exotic Birds) will be received at the Small Animal Building. Enter the fair grounds at Gate #2 (Arroyo Ave). There will be a staging area located in the VIP parking lot. Exhibitor vehicles will not be allowed on the Fair grounds. To request assistance in transport of animals from parking area to the check-in, go to the Small Animal Building and check with either the Poultry Office or the Rabbit Office. CSF personnel will assist in this transport. NO exceptions. COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS: All entrants must have read and be familiar with the Colorado State Fair General Competition Requirements, General Livestock Competition Requirements, Premise Identification, and Health requirements. American Rabbit Breeders Assn. show rules and Standard of Perfection breed standards also shall apply. Entries must be postmarked on or before August 1 st. Entry fee via check or Money Order should accompany entry or entry should include a phone number in order to obtain a valid Credit Card. After August 1 st, no Rabbit entries will be accepted. When cooping capacity is reached entries will be returned. All entrants for rabbits exhibited in open, breed, or market competitions shall provide a Premise Identification Number on the entry form. Colorado State Fair Management reserves the right to reclassify rabbits when necessary. Filing of entries indicates acceptance of all show Competition Requirements and regulations. A legible address is required in order to receive show reports and legs. Comment cards will be available for pickup following the show. No comment cards or ribbons will be mailed. Filing of entries indicates exhibitor acceptance of all show Competition Requirements and regulations. There will be a check-in inspection upon arrival at the Colorado State Fair. CSF management and superintendents may disallow any rabbit to be cooped that is entered in a junior class and does not meet the minimum weight requirements, as per ARBA Standard of Perfection This also applies to any rabbit found to be of unfit show quality. Any rabbit disqualified for unfit show quality during check-in will be immediately dismissed from the CSF grounds and entry fees will not be refunded. All rabbits will be subject to examination by a representative of the state veterinarian s office upon entry and during the fair. Any rabbit showing evidence of infectious, contagious or communicable diseases may be immediately withdrawn from the fair and/or held in quarantine at owner s risk and expense until properly treated and recovered, or until properly released to owner s premises following treatment. All rabbits entered are at the sole risk of the exhibitor. Competent CSF Rabbit Personnel will be in attendance by day and CSF security guards at night. Every precaution will be taken to assure protection and safety of exhibits. Any coop door that is locked or zip-tied by the exhibitor must be unlocked prior to time of judging. Colorado State Fair management is NOT responsible for any animal not getting to judging table as a result of a locked coop. Feed and water cups may be lowered, but hog rings cannot be used. Tie down material is available. There is no limit to the number of animals an exhibitor may enter in this show or in any one of these classes. Premiums will be paid in accordance with the premium schedule listed in this division. Use Division and Class Numbers on entry form. Premiums will be paid only on A.R.B.A. recognized breeds, varieties, and classes of rabbits. Premiums will be paid on actual numbers of animals judged. Ribbons will be awarded through 5 th place. Ribbons may be picked up by exhibitor on the honor system from the Ribbon Table. NO RIBBONS will be mailed.
3 Substitutions are allowed in same breed, class, variety and sex. No substitutions will be allowed in a Fur Class unless the rabbit is a substitute in its regular class. All substitutions will be charged $1.00 for each substitution, payable at check-in. Exhibitors are required to change the Ear Number on the Coop Card. An exhibitor, who arrives with a rabbit that will not be a substitute, will be required to pay a double entry fee per rabbit. Example: Entry form states Black Mini Rex Senior Buck. Rabbit arrives and it is a Black Mini Rex Senior Doe. It may remain and be shown with a new late entry fee of double entry $7.00. NOTE: This rabbit may not be lined up in correct class in the coops. Exhibitors please be aware of class called to table as carriers may need exhibitor assistance to make sure this rabbit gets to the show table. Late Entries: Those exhibitors who have met the posted 2017 entry deadline will be allowed to submit add-on entries with a $5.00 late fee plus the regular class entry fee (pending available space). Anyone wanting to make a new entry after August 14 th will be allowed to do so with a $50.00 late fee, at the discretion of Department Management, pending available space and after all other requirements have been met. Those wanting to make late entry should contact the Department Head to get authorization for said late entry. All rabbits must have a permanent, legible tattoo in left ear (Official A.R.B.A. Show Rule). No Duplicate ear numbers may be used by one exhibitor. Rabbits owned by a Rabbitry cannot be exhibited under two or more names for the purpose of increasing the number of exhibitors in a class. Youth Division exhibitors may show in the Open Rabbit Division provided all Competition Requirements and regulations of this division are met. However, the same rabbit may not be shown in both Open and Youth Divisions. Refer to A.R.B.A. Show rules for additional details. Judges will be instructed to place the rabbit according to his/her judgment where there is only one rabbit in the class. If no rabbit is deemed of first place quality, NO PREMIUMS will be paid for that class. The Colorado State Fair Management reserves the right to substitute a Judge in case any Judge listed is unable to officiate. No one will be allowed behind the judging tables, unless acting in an official show capacity. Any Exhibitor interfering with a judge during judging will be instructed to leave, all entries scratched from the show, and any premiums or awards will be forfeited. The interpretation of the Competition Requirements contained herein shall be vested in the show committee and that decision shall be final. Only Colorado State Fair appointed carriers and/or Small Animal Department personnel will be permitted to carry rabbits to and from the judging tables during the CSF Premium Show. An exhibitor may be asked to carry their own rabbit to and from the show table if a rabbit is being unruly or confrontational toward a CSF Rabbit Carrier. All hutches are single decked with hardware cloth floors. If footboards are needed, they must be furnished by exhibitor. Only one rabbit may be cooped in each coop, however, Meat Pens will be caged together in double cages. Feed of choice by Colorado State Fair will be provided and rabbits will be fed, watered and cared for by Colorado State Fair personnel. Cages available only to rabbits entered. If exhibitor wishes to feed and water their own rabbit(s), the cage MUST BE clearly marked and exhibitor will bring their own signage. No breeding of rabbits is permitted in the Showroom. SPECIAL CAGING: There will be a limited number of cages (25) available for Certificate of Development rabbits and these rabbits must be accompanied by a Working Standard.
