4 M e m o A c e v e d o G e n e v e f f a V i t a l e Memo Acevedo is an active New York City drummer, percussionist, author, educator and Band Leader. He pioneered Colombia and Spain's Rock music scene during his teens. A self-taught musician, his passion for Jazz and Latin music compelled him to take it as a serious object of study after leaving home. Having lived in Colombia, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Los Angeles and New York City, has endowed him with a vast knowledge and experience in all styles of music. Recording and performing credits include (among many) Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Tito Puente, Gregory Hines, Hilton Ruiz, Tom Scott, Louie Bellson, Joe Cuba, Stephen Stills, Joss Stone, Angelique Kidjo; Brazilian masters Ivan Lins, Moacir Santos; Jazz singers Mark Murphy, Jackie & Roy; Cuban bands, Irakere, Klimax and Broadway show "The Lion King". In 1997, Memo joined the Faculty at New York University's Jazz program and founded the Samba Ensemble, directed the Latin/Brazilian Jazz Ensemble and taught percussion and drum set until He is co-author of the "Afro- Caribbean and Brazilian Drumming", produced by New York's foremost drum school, Drummer's Collective,where he has been teaching since A W A R D S As a composer, he's won the National "AD's Music Award" for his groundbreaking Rubbermaid TV commercial "Unbeatable" in Two "Percussionist of the Year" awards by 'The Jazz Report'Magazine' Media poll in the years 1994 and In 2007 he received the KoSA Lifetime Achievement Award "for his tireless contribution to the world of percussion and percussion education" In November of 2011 he was given the prestigious "PAS President's Industry Award". In March of 2013 he was given Cuba's "Gitano Tropical", an Honorary Recognition Award given to a few by the Cuban Ministry of Culture for his contribution and support of Cuban Music and Culture through his career. He has been invited to perform at the International Drums & Percussion Festival in Havana known as 'Fiesta Del Tambor' 7 times, including this year of In November of 2013 he was honored with the "Artistic Life Achievement Award" at the Montreal Drum Festival's 21st Anniversary.. In November of 2014 he received the "Distinguished Artist Award" by New York City's Lehman College's Jazz Festival. During his years living in Toronto, Memo was inducted into Canada's 'Who is Who'. He is credited as the pioneer of the Afro-Cuban, Brazilian and Latin Jazz movements there, leading three bands of his own. He established the first Latin Jazz, Salsa and Brazilian ensembles in an educational institution in Canada, at Humber College in Toronto. He also produced and hosted his own Radio Show "The Latin Beat" at CIUT-FM for ten years. His credits as a recording session player in Canada include most of the major stars in that country as well as TV work and jingles. Genoveffa Vitale is a conductor with the Empire State Youth Orchestras. She has been conducting the Repertory Eagles Percussion Ensemble since She has a private percussion studio and teaches elementary band, high school percussion lessons, and percussion ensemble in the Bethlehem Central School District. Genoveffa worked with the Jordan-Elbridge Marching Band and Indoor Drum Lines from and the Mohonasen Marching Band from She has given four mallet marimba clinics at SUNY OCC and SUNY Potsdam. She holds degrees from Onondaga Community College (A.A.S), SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music (B.M.E.), and Walden University (M.S.). While at Crane, Ms. Vitale won the Crane Concerto Competition, conducted and performed in the two percussion ensembles, and obtained a Performance Certificate in percussion.

Founded in 2000, The Onondaga Community College Indoor Marching Percussion Ensemble is a group of area all-stars. It includes members from: Onondaga Community College, Syracuse University and area High Schools. Past members populate the staffs of many drumlines in the New York State Percussion Circuit. 6 M i c h a e l B u r r i t t F i n a l C o n c e r t Having performed on four continents and nearly forty states is one of the World's leading percussion soloists. He is in frequent demand performing concert tours and master classes throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia and Canada. Mr. Burritt has been soloist with the Dallas Wind Symphony, Omaha Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, Richmond Symphony Orchestra, Ju Percussion Group (Taiwan), Percussion Art Quartet (Germany), Amores Percussion Group (Spain), Peaux (Sweden) and the Tempus Fugit Percussion Ensemble of Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Burritt has three solo recordings - Perpetual, and Shadow Chasers and recently released his third entitled Waking Dreams on the Resonator Records label. All the recordings are comprised of Burritt's original compositions as well as works written expressly for him. He has been a featured artist at seven Percussive Arts Society International Conventions. In 1992 he presented his New York solo debut in Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall and in 1998 performed his London debut in the Purcell Room at Queen Elizabeth Hall. Mr Burritt has extensive chamber and orchestral experience and has performed with the Chicago Chamber Musicians, The Chicago Symphony, The Rembrandt Players, and the The Penninsula Music Festival Orchestra. Mr. Burritt is also active as a composer, with two concertos to his credit, numerous solo and chamber works for marimba and percussion as well as two books of etudes. His works for solo marimba have become standard repertoire for the instrument and are frequently required repertoire on international competitions. He has been commissioned by The World Marimba Competition in Stuttgart Germany, The Paris International Marimba Competition, Third Coast Percussion Quartet, Exit 9 Percussion, Louisiana State University, The Northshore Concert Band and the Tempus Fugit Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Burritt is published with Ludwig Music, C. Allen and Keyboard Percussion Publications. Burritt is also an artist/clinician and product design/consultant for Malletech, where he has developed his own line of signature marimba mallets and an artist / educational clinician with the Zildjian Company. Mr. Burritt is a member of the Percussive Arts Society Board of Directors, a contributing editor for Percussive Notes Magazine and the chairman of the PAS Keyboard Committee. is currently Professor of Percussion and head of the department at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. Prior to his appointment at Eastman Mr. Burritt was Professor of Percussion at Northwestern University from where he developed a program of international distinction. Mr. Burritt received his Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees, as well as the prestigious Performers Certificate from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. His teachers have included John Beck, Gordon Stout, Paul Yancich and Herbert Flower.
