1 CLT17620AVControlRoom-RA.doc Page 1 CENTER FOR LEARNING AND TECHNOLOGY - A/V PRODUCTION ROOM 104 CLT PROD ROOM.doc The general consensus of the occupants of the CLT is that the following rooms be equiped for Videoconferencing/Distance Learning activities: Public Events Rm. 103, Classroom 105, Multimedia Rm 115, Classroom 108, Seminar Classroom 107, Conference Rm 180 and Lab Classroom 207. The most logical central point for the required equipment 'A/V Production Room' is the A/V Storage room 104. Said equipment will require an area of approximately 7' X 7' square to accommodate 2 equipment racks with 2 operators for the Video, Audio, Intercommunications & Videoconferencing components. PLU Audio Services, Bob Holden, will co-occupy this 7' X 7' space. Room 104 will have a finished wall separating the 7' X 7' storage area Rm 102 from the 7' X 7' A/V Production Room 104. The A/V Production Room will have one door in the South wall, East corner, that opens outward (Southwesterly) into the Lobby for access, and an 8"W X 8"H hatch door (locking) at 2" above floor level on the South wall, West corner, to facilitate temporary cable runs for events in the Lobby area. The A/V Production Room will have adequate clean power, to supply (2) 7 foot tall equipment racks, in the form of 2-20amp circuits on the same phase to separate 4-plex outlets, 2 sets each, mounted on the West wall at 16" above the floor, 1 each on the NW wall and 1 each on the S wall. The A/V Production Room 104 will have adequate ventilation, an open ceiling, Air Conditioning, etc to cool the equipment and operators to 68 degrees F (minimum 2000 BTU's).with a thermostat on the wall. The A/V Production Room 104 will have (20) cabling paths, from each of the Videoconferencing rooms; (2) 3" conduits in the slab from Rm 104 to Rms 103 & 105 (1) each to the 2 Instructors floor pockets; (2) each 2" conduits in the walls from the 6 wall boxes stubbed up to the cable tray above the false ceilings in Rooms 103 & 105 and (1) each 2" conduit in the wall from the 1 wall box stubbed up to the cable tray above the drop ceiling in Room 115; (6) 2" conduits in the slab from Rm 104 to Rms 108, 107 and 180 (1) each to the 3 wall boxes and (1) each to the 3 floor pockets; (4) each 2" conduits in Room 207 from the 3 wall boxes and 1 floor box stubbed down to the cable trays above the first floor false ceiling; All cable paths to A/V Production Room 104 will terminate in (3) 24"H x 12"W x 6"D flush mount boxes in the West wall, Left half, centered at 48" above floor level for Videoconference connector panels. One 24"x 12"x 6" box will have (4) 2" conduits and one 24"x12"x6" box will have (5) 2" conduits exiting the top of the box and stubbed at ceiling level 8' above finished floor and (2) 2" conduit sleeves from box to box. There will also be (2) 24"H x 12" W x 6" D flush mount boxes in the West wall, Right half, centered at 48" above floor level for Audio connector panels one with (6) and one with (4) 2" conduits exiting the top of the box and stubbed at ceiling level 8' above floor level and (2) 2" conduit sleeves from box to box. Each of the (20) cabling paths will provide for a 1-1/2 inch (1.5") diameter bundle of Camera, Video, Tally, Audio, Communications, ISDN, Phone, etc. cables. If conduit is used each 90 degree bend will have a pulling elbow or pull box. Each of the (13) cabling paths to the wallmount boxes will terminate in an 8"H X 8"W X 6"D flush wallmount box in each Videoconferencing room centered at about 16 inches above floor level for connector panels. Rooms 103, 105 and 207 will have three such boxes each. The locations of all such 'Camera Connecton' boxes per PLU-TV Conduit Locations Diagrams. Each of the cabling paths to the Instructors' Console Floor Boxes will terminate in one of two (2) tandem 8"H X 8"W X 6"D flush floor mount box in each Videoconferencing room under the Instructor's console. There will be (1) each additional 2" conduit in the slab from the Instructor floor pocket stubbed up above the drop ceiling for the projector in all classrooms with projectors. PLU will purchase with building funds and supply all Electronic Equipment, Racks, Wall Box and Floor Box Connector Panels, Connectors and associated installations. The Contractor(s) will purchase and supply all Cables, Pulling Lubricant, Velcro Ties, Poly Line Pull String and associated installations.
