2 THIEME 5000 multicolour line Details of the THIEME 5000 multicolour line Modular profile chassis construction Grippers and Gripper Drive The grippers hold the sheet precisely and transport it through the entire printing line until it is released. The holding force is created by individually working pressure springs and increases in gripping force when printing thikker substrates. The gripper speed can be adjusted electronically. Printing Table The printing table consists of a sandwiched construction with a wear-resistant oxide top layer of anodized aluminum. The lowering and lifting of the printing table is precisely controlled by a lift curve. For a better sheet tension, the vacuum field is sectioned and timed. Vacuum System A high-volume fan provides an ultra fast vacuum hold-down. Vacuum and blow-back are controlled via a solenoid valve and are infinitely adjustable. Optional data input via separate control panel. Screen Frame Guidance System The screen can easily be inserted into the machine from both sides. Pneumatic frame clamping allows quick and safe insertion of the screen frame. Pneumatic clamping of the screen frame register system reduces set-up time as it is operated from the main control panel. The motorised fine tune adjustment is performed via the operation panel within an adjusting range of +/- 5 mm (1/5 ). The 3-point centering device allows fast, exact positioning of the screen frame. Optional THIEME SpeedSetUp for automatic screen support bar adjustment. THIEME Squeegee Unit (pat.) Pneumatic cylinders create the inversion from print to flood. The squeegee pressure is controlled pneumatically and is self levelling to the print substrate. The angle of the squeegee and flood-coater are infinitely adjustable, where contact with the screen is never lost. The insertion and removal of the squeegee takes place in a matter of seconds with integrated, quick-action cam-locks, using no tools or separate clamping devices. Squeegee Control Squeegee and flood-coater parameters are programmable. Off-Contact Adjustment For different screen tensioning and material thickness, the offcontact can be precisely adjusted from 6 to 20 mm (1/4 to 4/5 ) via the operation panel.

It is possible to expand the machine to print up to 6 colours in line by adding extra printing and drying stations as required. The drive and gripper system together with the associated control units are designed to be retro-fitted to the printing and drying stations. Long run production of posters and billboards are economically printed with the THIEME Speed, precision and up-time performance is synonymous with the THIEME 5000 multicolour inline.

4 Modular screen printing system from 2 6 co Peel-Off Device The peel-off height is infinitely adjustable from 0 to 4 mm per 200 mm (0 to 5/32 per 8 ) of stroke length. The peel-off datum or starting point is infinitely adjustable across the squeegee stroke length. Take-Off System The gripper speed is infinitely adjustable for different material thickness. The transport belt is directly integrated into the machine. Timed vacuum hold-down ensures the correct exit position of each sheet as it is released from the gripper. Intermediate UV-Dryer The dryer is equipped with dual lamp scan UV unit with speed control. The dryer is complete with overhead walkways. The dryer hood can be opened from above as well as from each side for easy access. The UV lamp intensity of each spot can be set at 70% or 100% output. THIEME Control Using the programmable electronic control, set-up times can be reduced enormously. Print jobs are reproducible and the working procedures are safe. These advantages help to reduce production costs. Machine programs can be stored and recalled.
