7 Equipment Rack Installed in Courtroom An equipment rack is installed under the clerk s desk or in a nearby A/V closet. This rack contains the equipment to bring the audio and video together. The equipment rack consists of the following components: Two servers Primary and Backup Motu This is a device that converts the sound/video from analog to digital Mixer Mixes the audio and video into a signal that can be sent to the remote court reporter UPS Rack mountable, to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the equipment Amplifier Used to amplify the audio within the courtroom and allows for the use of a husher/sidebar system

9 Realtime Delivery The remote court reporter connects to the courtroom through a VPN enabling him/her to see and hear the court proceedings. The remote court reporter creates a voice-to-text rough draft transcript in real time. The unedited transcript is delivered via the VPN to all authorized users. Users are assigned a username and password. This realtime delivery method allows users in the courtroom or anywhere in the world access to the realtime text. Users can use any browser and any device. The RevolutionaryText s production team simultaneously accesses the text and audio for quality assurance and faster transcript delivery.
