2 A. Install and Setup 1. Download and install the latest version of MyTheatre 2. During the install, select the Component Filter Graphs 3. Connect directly to first Lnb (pointed to sat 119) - bypass switch, the reason why we bypass the switch is that you will get a stronger and more cleaner scan by doing so. No chance of interference through the diseqc. 4. Start Mytheatre 5. Right click anywhere on the black screen where picture would be, Choose Settings General settings, Miscellaneous tab, ensure you have 'Turn LNB Power off at exit' checked. close settings window. 3 6. Right click anywhere on the black screen where picture would be, Choose Settings then click LNB/DISEqC settings & scan 7. Locate sat 119 which is POS 241 and hi-lite (this may be a good time to verify frequencies match Lyngsat, if not import 2410.ini file) It s best just to import new ini s to make sure they are up-to-date. 4 8. Set LOF1: SW: 0 LOF2: Select <Apply> 10. Select <DiSEqC> MSgtRetired Page 4 3/21/2006

5 11. Uncheck all. <do it>.. <ok>.. <Apply> 12. Look at the right window, select <Sel All>, <Scan> [channels should scan successfully, note: not all will scan] 13. When done; shut down Mytheatre 14. Disconnect from 119 connect to port A of idle Diseqc. leave it idle. 15. Direct connect receiver cable to second lnb (pointed to sat 110) bypass switch MSgtRetired Page 5 3/21/2006

6 16. Restart Mytheatre 17. Right click anywhere on the black screen where picture would be, Choose Settings then click LNB/DISEqC settings & scan 18. Locate sat 110 which is POS 250 and hi-lite (this may be a good time to verify frequencies match Lyngsat, if not import 2500.ini file) It s best just to import new ini s to make sure they are up-to-date Set LOF1: SW: 0 LOF2: Select <Apply> 21. 8 27. Restart Mytheatre 28. Right click anywhere on the black screen where picture would be, Choose Settings then click LNB/DISEqC settings & scan 29. Locate sat 119 which is POS 241 and hi-lite 30. Select <DiSEqC> 31. Check the <First DisEQc Switch> check box 32. Select <Committed, LNB1> 33. Select <do it>.. <ok>.. <Apply> 34. Locate sat 110 which is POS 250 and hi-lite 35. Select <DiSEqC> 36. 9 37. Select <Committed, LNB2> 38. Select <do it>.. <ok>.. <Apply> 39. Shut down Mytheatre 40. Restart Mytheatre, Right-click on the screen and go to Display, then Verify Video On\Off is checked, if not, check it MSgtRetired Page 9 3/21/2006

10 41. Locate channel (or another known clear channel like order PPV) and verify it's viewable 42. If not, change to another graph 43. If need be, Download and install Mpeg2 decoder pack Version 2.06 (only if want additional filters/codecs available. out of the box may work fine, however, different filters produce different qualities of audio/video, along with different cpu usages) Located in the files section MSgtRetired Page 10 3/21/2006

11 44. Choose different graphs, verify viewable and quality. repeat with different graphs 45. Once satisfied with results, shut down Mytheatre 46. Download S2emu or vplug with a recent softcam, unrar and copy into your plugins folder (S2emu or vplug is the emulator program whereas, the softcam file holds updated encryption keys) 47. Restart Mytheatre 48. Change channel to a PPV, like 507, and verify that is viewable 49. if not viewable, verify your softcam is valid and updated 50. Right click anywhere on the black screen where picture would be, select display, list of channels, select the all filter MSgtRetired Page 11 3/21/2006

12 51. Right click one or a group of channels (using shift key) and select Number & favorite 52. Check Assign SID as channel number, check Put to Favorite, check the enumerate from 53. Use the combo box and assign to a favorite category or assign to 'none', <Do it > 54. If assigned to Favorites, select the <favorites> filter MSgtRetired Page 12 3/21/2006

13 55. That should be all that is needed for viewing, until a key change or such 56. Add other plugins such as myepg, dvbepg, etc.. (place the associated dll in the plugins directory) 57. Make a backup, soas if you tweak something beyond repair, a quick overwrite usually fixes it. MSgtRetired Page 13 3/21/2006

15 * setting for c-band (big dish) LOF1: SW: 0 LOF2: * note that some identify to use lof1: sw: lof2: however, all that does is force to lof2 mode.. sw=0 will work * If you are using a DP LNB, you will need DP Transponder list where some of the frequencies have been tweaked * If you need to update your Frequencies, either do it manually or import them MSgtRetired Page 15 3/21/2006

16 C. Other useful tips * Useful info on how to identify a sat ini file: 360 minus sat equals Ini example: to identify sat 110's ini file =250 or 2500.ini the last digit can vary depending on Dishpro, c-band, etc.. This can also be used to identify the Sat POS identified in LNB setup * Close Mytheatre when connecting\disconnecting cables (save from frying the DisEqC and other stuff). Ensure you have 'Turn LNB Power off at exit' checked in the miscellaneous tab of general settings * A PC fan does wonders in keeping a card cool * Disable anti-virus program while running Mytheatre (why?.. if autoscan kicks in, it causes freezing) * If you experience high cpu usage, try a different graph (check by selecting the Ctrl-Alt-del key and view the performance tab) MSgtRetired Page 16 3/21/2006

17 * In order for a graph to work, its associated codec needs to be installed * If you experience a loss in sound for no apparent reason, make sure the M key wasn't selected by mistake * Some Direct show filters allow for various user adjustments. * If you lost part of your channel list and can't figure out where it went, cycle through by selecting the 'all' link in the upper right hand edge of channel list * Periodically compress your channels.mdb and epg.mdb files. if they get too big, performance can suffer * If you keep favorites to a minimum and <serve only favorites> in the EPG tab, less overhead, thus better performance MSgtRetired Page 17 3/21/2006

18 * If you experience chirping and dropout blocks, check you alignment, cabling, and connections. Contributing factors to a low signal level are a weak satellite signal, blocked or partially blocked Line of sight, miss-aligned dish, poor or dirty cable connections, low quality cable, long cable length, splitters, Diseqc, and Attenuators. each connection and device will lower levels. * Higher the signal and quality levels the better. Also note that a DVB card may report lower levels than a receiver using the same setup. a 30Q is probably the lowest acceptable level on a DVB card. I would strive for at least double that. triple would even be better. * Patience is key to alignment. hair like adjustments can make a world of difference. * Newer versions of Mytheatre do not require an mdplugins directory. plugins can be placed directly in the plugins directory MSgtRetired Page 18 3/21/2006
