2 The booth equipment is automatically powered up 45 minutes before the first scheduled show of the day and powered down after the last show of the day. The equipment is also be powered down if there is more than 90 minutes between shows and powered back up 45 minutes before the start of the next show. If there is preshow, the Screenvision player signals the ecna at the beginning and at the end of the preshow. If a ticket has been sold or is sold anytime during the preshow, the lamp will be turned on. Normally, the feature will start at the end of the preshow. The feature is prevented from starting until the preshow has ended or 5 minutes after the scheduled show start. The feature can also be started by the show schedule or a manual push button. 3 ecna-10 Front Panel START PLAYLIST MANUAL MODE START PROGRAM CUE ABORT CANCEL START OF DAY END OF DAY Starts the Server Show Playlist (SPL) if the ecna is in either the Between Show or Preshow segment. If this button is pushed and the Playlist is already running, this button will have no effect. Use this button to manually start a show. Sets Manual Start Mode for the next show only. In this mode, ONLY the START PLAYLIST button can start the Playlist. This includes starting from the server. Pushing this button again will clear the Manual Start Mode. Unconditionally Starts or Resumes the ecna Program (if there is no ecna fault). This should not normally be used. Advances the ecna program to the next wait for cue instruction. 4 1. Start of Day Logic The Start of Day logic controls how the booth equipment is turned on before the first show of the day. It can be initiated by Key 7 (Trigger 3), Clock Event 1 (Trigger 14) or Clock Event 9 (Trigger 5). 1) Trigger 14 occurs 45:00 before the first scheduled show of the day. (This is normally how the Start of Day will occur.) 2) Trigger 5 occurs 44:55 before every scheduled show. 3) Trigger 3 occurs when key 7 is pressed. The purpose of Trigger 5 is to power the booth back up if it was powered down because there was more than 90 minutes between shows. Trigger 14 occurs 5 seconds before Trigger 5 clearing the Power Off flag. This prevents macro 14 from being called twice before the first scheduled show of the day. The alarm is masked for 5 minutes when the booth equipment is powered on. This is to prevent a false projector alarm before the server and projector establish communications. 5 2. Preshow Start and Lamp Control Logic The preshow player uses input flag 16 to signal the start of the preshow. Input flag 16 calls macro 16 (trigger 10). The projector lamp is turned on only if a ticket is sold. Preshow Start / Lamp Control Flowchart 5

6 3. Show Start Logic The server s show playlist (trailers + feature) can be started in one of three ways from the ecna. The playlist automation cue selects the ecna program and starts macro 19. Macro 19 starts the ecna program. 1) The preshow player will start the playlist with input flag 3 (Trigger 13) to signal the end of the preshow. The server automatically loads and starts the playlist based on its show schedule. If the preshow has not ended before the scheduled show time, the playlist is stopped. When the preshow ends, the playlist will be restarted from the beginning. If the preshow has not ended 5 minutes after the scheduled show, the playlist will be started automatically by Clock Event 8 (Trigger 9). 2) If there is no preshow, the playlist will be started automatically by Clock Event 8 (Trigger 9) at the scheduled show time. 3) The playlist can be started manually by pressing key 1 (Trigger 11). Pressing key 1 between shows is considered an unscheduled show and the automatic lamp control is defeated (for that show only). Pressing key1 if it s in the preshow will end the preshow and start the playlist. 6

8 4. Lamp Control Logic The main purpose of the following control logic is to control the lamp and douser during the feature. 1) Turn on the lamp when a ticket is sold. 2) If the lamp has been on from a previous show, turn it off 30 minutes after the start of the feature if there are no tickets sold. 3) If no tickets have been sold for the last show of the day, turn the lamp off after 30 minutes and start the End of Day shutdown. The following is the control logic for the projector lamp and dowser during the feature. If the POS Ok flag is up, the lamp control is based on the ticket sold flag. 9 Lamp Control Logic 5. Show End Early Logic If the logic gets to this point, there are no tickets sold and the lamp has been turned off. If it s the last show of the day, the playlist is stopped and the program is ended. The booth equipment will be powered down by the Show End logic. 11 6. Show End Logic Macro 38 is called at the end of an ecna program. It determines if the equipment is shut down based on the show schedule. If it s the last show or there s more than 90 minutes until the next schedule show, the booth equipment is powered down. The server is powered down except Wednesday and Thursday. 12 7. Reboot Logic Thursday at 6:10 am, macro 24 is called to reboot some of the equipment. At this time, only the ecna is rebooted. Other equipment can be added to this macro in the future. 8. Can t Get Show Schedule from nanohost Alarm Logic This Alarm logic turns on or off the ecna alarm based on the POS Not Ok and POS Ok events. The alarm is sounded if the ecna cannot receive the show schedule from the nanohost. It is automatically turned off when it can receive the show schedule again. The alarm can be silenced by pressing the Cancel button. This macro also will turn the lamp on if it's in the preshow or feature and the POS Ok flag is lost. This is to prevent the possibility of the lamp not turning on during the preshow or feature when a ticket is sold and the ecna can no longer get the show managment data (ticket sold). 12

13 9. Programs All programs are similar. Only the sound and picture formats are different. Programs are used for the playlist (trailers and feature). Program 1: 2D Flat 5.1 Program 2: 2D Scope

19 11. Clock Events 2 - End of Day: This event is no longer used. Originally it was used to shut down the booth equipment after the last show of the day, but the show length time doesn t include trailers and our end of show time is not correct. So we now do the end of day with the Power Down? macro (#38) which is called at the end of the ecna program. 4 - Last Show: This event is used to start a macro that sets the last show flag. Output Control Flags The Output Control Flags are defined as follows: Control flags 1 through 4 are mapped to relays that are used to control power to most of the equipment. 1 - Audio Amps: Controls power to the audio power amplifiers 2 - Booth Panel: Controls power to the booth electrical sub-panel 3 - Exhaust Fan: Controls power to the projector lamp exhaust 4 - Preshow: Control flags 5 through 13 are logical state flags used to control branching in various macros. 5 - Start Preshow: 6 - Start of Day: Used to prevent the Start of Day macro from being executed more than one time after the End of Day macro. 9 - Alarm Mask: Used to mask the alarm for 5 minutes for the start of day power up Preshow Ended: Used to allow the playlist to start Last Show: Used to indicate key 1 was pressed SA2100 Pwr: Used to determine what days the server will not be powered down at the end of the day Power Off: Indicates the booth equipment was powered down due to a minimum between show time and that it will be powered back on before the next show Special Run: Used to indicate an unscheduled show. This flag is set when key 1 is pressed Manual Mode: Manual start mode flag 16 - Start Preshow: Used to prevent preshow from starting before the end of the previous show. 20

21 13. Macros Macro 1: ecna Power Up This is required so the House lights output is not pulsed when the ecna is powered up. The Lehigh dimmers used in many of the auditoriums require a single control input pulse which advances the dimmer to the next state. Macro 2: Abort This macro is called when key 5 (Program Abort) is pressed. Macro 3: Fire Stop This macro is called by the Fire Stop event, Trigger

22 Macro 4: Set Alarm Macro 5: Manual Mode This macro is called when key 2 is pressed (trigger 12). This macro toggles the manual start flag. When this flag is set, autostart is disabled and the only way to start the playlist and program is to press key 1. The manual start flag is cleared by macro 19. Macro 6: SMS Error This macro is called by the server if it has a fault/error. 22

23 Macro 7: Cancel Alarm Macro 8: Start Program Macro 9: Start SPL This macro is called by Clock Event 8 at the scheduled start time of every show. If the Pre-show segmant is on, timer 6 is started. If timer 6 is allowed to time-out, the playlist is started. If the Between Shows segment is on the playlist is started. This macro is used to start the playlist if there is no preshow. 23

24 Macro 10: Projectr Alarm The Set Fault macro is started by trigger 29 which is caused by an alarm condition in the Christie projector. The alarm will turn on only if the Alarm Mask flag is not set. Macro 12: Start Special This macro is called when user key 1 is pressed (trigger 11). Similar to macro 9, this macro starts the playlist, but also sets the Special Run flag. This flag is used to defeat the automatic lamp control during the show. This flag is cleared when the programs ends or when the program is aborted. 24

25 Macro 14: Start of Day The Start of Day macro can be started by triggers 3 or 14. It powers up the booth equipment, sets the Alarm Mask, starts timer 4 to clear the Alarm Mask after 5 minutes. It also calls macro 30 to initialize some control flags. This macro will be exited if the Start of Day flag is set, which means that this macro has already been executed since equipment shutdown (macro 15). This is to prevent the Lamp Off instruction from turning the projector lamp off if this macro is executed more than one time. Note: The Christie projector Lamp Off command is used to wake-up the projector from standby mode and to turn off the lamp. Macro 15: End of Day The End of Day macro turns off the booth equipment and conditionally turns off the GDC server based on the SA2100 Pwr control flag. If the SA2100Pwr flag is set, the GDC server remains powered on. Otherwise it is powered off at the end of the day. 25

26 Macro 16: Preshow Start This macro sets the Preshow segment, sound and picture format and calls macro 32 if the Program is not in progress. If the Program is in progress, the Start Preshow flag is set. This macro is called by trigger 10 (at the start of the preshow) or by macro 43: End of Show* if the Start Preshow flag is set. Macro 17: Set POS Alarm This macro is called if timer 5 is allowed to expire, which mans that the ecna is no longer getting the management data. If it s in the preshow or feature, turn on the lamp. Macro 18: Lamp Control 26

27 Macro 19: Ok To Start? This macro checks to see if the preshow has ended before the feature can start. This macro is started by the server playlist (after it selects the ecna program). If the Preshow Ended flag is on then the ecna program is started. If the Preshow Ended flag is off then the GDC playlist is stopped. When the preshow ends macro 22 will restart the playlist. Macro 22: Preshow End The Preshow End macro sets the Trailers segment, sets the Preshow Ended flag and starts the playlist. This macro won t do anything unless there was a preshow start that sets the Pre-Show segment. 27

28 Macro 23: Feature Lamp The Feature Lamp macro controls the projector lamp and dowser during the feature movie. It s main purpose is to minimize the lamp on time. This macro is called: 1. At the start of an ecna program (which corresponds to the start of the trailers). 2. When the first ticket of the show is sold minutes after the start of the show. This macro perform the following functions: If a ticket has been sold, the lamp is turned on and the douser is opened. If a ticket has not been sold, the lamp remains off. If a ticket is sold anytime during the show the lamp is turned on and the douser is opened. Note: this macro is called when the first ticket is sold. This could also be before or during the preshow. The POS In Show flag is used to If a ticket has not been sold and it s 30 minutes after the start of the show, the lamp is turned off and the douser is closed. If it s the last scheduled show of the day, the show is ended. (See macro 27.) If it is an unscheduled show as defined by the Special Run flag this macro does nothing. This macro checks the POS Ok flag. If it s not on, this macro does nothing. This is to prevent the possibility that the lamp will be turned off when this macro is called 30 minutes after the show start and the ecna can no longer get the show schedule from the nanohost. 28

29 Macro 25: Last Show The Last Show macro sets the Last Show flag. This macro is called by trigger 19. Macro 26: Preshow Lamp This macro turns on the lamp and opens the douser only if there has been a ticket sold. This macro is called by both macro 32 and trigger 16. Macro 27: End Show The End Show macro is called by macro 23 (Feature Lamp) if there were no tickets sold 30 minutes after the last show. This macro ends the program and stops the playlist. 29

30 Macro 29: Clr Alarm Mask The Alarm Mask flag is set by macro 14 and cleared by this macro 5 minutes later. This is to prevent an alarm while the projector, server and media block establish communications at start up. Macro 30: Ctrl Flag Init The Ctrl Flag Init macro initializes some control flags used in other macros. Macro 31: POS Ok Alarm 30

31 Macro 32: Auto Lamp? The Auto Lamp? macro is normally called twice for every presentation. It s main purpose is to determine if the ecna should continue with the automatic lamp control. This macro is called: 1.At start of the Preshow. 2.At the start of the ecna program (which corresponds to the start of the trailers). This macro can perform the following functions: If it s an unscheduled show, turn on the lamp and open the dowser. (Note: the Test Run flag is set because key 3 was pressed by the user.) If the ecna can get the show schedule, then either the Preshow Lamp macro or the Feature Lamp macro is called depending on what part of the presentation is active. If the ecna cannot get the show schedule, the lamp is turned on and the dowser is opened. Macro 33 This macro sets the SA2100 Pwr flag at 6:30 am on Wednesday and Thursday. This flag is used by macro

32 Macro 35 Macro 36 Macro37 This macro clears the SA2100 Pwr flag everyday at 6:15 am (Trigger 25). This flag is used to determine if the server is shut down at the end of the day. 32

33 Macro 38: Power Down? This macro is called at the end of every program which corresponds to the end of feature credits. It performs the following functions: If it s the last scheduled show of the day, the booth equipment is shut down. If it s not the last scheduled show, but there s more than 90 minutes before the next show, the booth is shut down. (Note: The Power Off flag is set so that the booth will turn back on before the next show by Trigger 5.) If it s not the last scheduled show and there s less than 90 minutes, but more than 45 minutes and it was an unscheduled show, the lamp is turned off and the dowser is closed, but the booth remains powered up. If it wasn t an unscheduled show, the lamp remains on and the dowser stays open, waiting for the preshow to start. Note: 1) After the last show of the day, the Time Between Shows is 99:59 and the Time Before Start is 0:00. 2) Before the first show of the day, the Time Between Shows is 259:59. 33

34 Macro 39: Power Up? This macro is called by trigger 5 before the start of every scheduled show. If the Power Off flag was set (by macro 38), the equipment is powered back up. Note: If an unscheduled show is run and ends more than 90 minutes before the first scheduled show of the day, the Power Off flag is set and Macro 40: Trailers* This macro is called by the ecna program. Macro 41: Feature* This macro is called by the ecna program. 34

35 Macro 42: Credits* This macro is called by the ecna program. Macro 43: End of Show* This macro is called by the ecna program. It checks the Start Preshow flag to see if it should call macro 16. This flag is set only if the preshow wants to start when a program (previous feature) is still running. The 5 second delay (timer 11) is to make sure the the in progress flag is cleared before calling macro
