3 FUN FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES STORIES AT THE MUSEUM MINI YOUTH DRAMA NICK COPE: FAMILY MUSIC Held in the Museum s cosy learning space amongst beanbags and cushions, these fun, interactive sessions will feature stories themed around a Museum object. Explore the exhibitions afterwards for a full morning of family fun! Our Mini Youth Drama group is perfect for young children who love to be creative and are beginning to show an interest in drama and performance! Members will explore characters, stories and emotions, learning together through play in a fun, relaxed environment. Join Nick Cope for an interactive morning of fun with songs about everything from counting to how plants grow. 5 GROUPS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE JUNIOR YOUTH DRAMA YOUTH DANCE YOUTH DRAMA Perfect for little people with big imaginations and a love for performing! Members will explore characters and stories through a range of practical games and exercises, developing their performance and communication skills, whilst building confidence and most importantly, having fun. Run by experienced professional dancers and choreographers, Debbie Camp and John Darvell, these weekly sessions provide an opportunity to explore contemporary and modern styles of dance in a fun environment. Members can also gain an Arts Award and perform at the Corn Exchange. Led by our Education Officer Charlotte Cassey, our resident young drama company works together to explore ideas, develop performance skills and create original work together. A relaxed discussion group for adults who are interested in getting together and reading plays aloud. Join us as we take look at a different script each week, share the reading and hear characters come to life. New methods, subject matter and materials are presented each week ensuring that every session is different as you choose how to develop your work with Sally on hand to offer advice. Experiment with mono-block printing using acrylic sheets, jelly moulds and watercolour printing inks to create your own unique pieces of art with artist Sally Haynes. Join our friendly drop-in sessions which feature home made cake, tea, coffee and a series of activities designed to encourage conversation, help stimulate the brain and enrich the lives of people living with dementia. Share your talent in our cosy auditorium at New Greenham Arts. All acoustic acts are welcome, so whether it s spoken word, music, song, comedy or magic, this is your chance to shine! You can expect a friendly atmosphere and an enjoyable evening of entertainment, hosted by an enthusiastic compère. This is our resident crafting group who meet twice a month. All are welcome; card-makers, knitters, stitchers, jewellery makers, scrapbookers. 18 SCHOOLS LUKE BROWN CURTAIN-RAISER SCHOOLS CHOREOGRAPHY CHALLENGE This is an incredible chance for young dancers to work with Luke Brown, an exciting emerging choreographer, at a hugely subsidised price. Together you ll create a piece to be performed on the Corn Exchange main stage before Luke Brown s professional show For You I Long the Longest. Learn, explore and create through dance. A professional dance practitioner will visit your school to work with a pupil group of your choice to teach a short routine and set your group a choreography challenge suited to their experience. Their responses to this challenge will make up the performance at the Corn Exchange on Thursday 3 November.
