5 INFORMATION BOOKING DETAILS There are limited places available for workshops and performances. Places will be distributed on a first-come, firstserved basis, and payment in full is required to secure arrangements. TEACHERS & TUTORS The workshops have been tailored to make taking part as easy as possible. After booking, you will receive a pack from us including image consent forms, relevant travel details, activity resources (where specified) and other tools. Please do get in touch should you have any questions or concerns regarding scheduling and cost, as we try to be flexible when possible. Available for SEND settings Pupils will be introduced to our Beethoven-focused 2017 Festival concert with Britten Sinfonia in a creative and interactive way, exploring new music collectively: improvising, analysing and performing. Pupils will have the opportunity to work alongside professional musicians to gain insight into the instruments, repertoire and concert setting. Optional Additional 7.50 per pupil to include a ticket to the Britten Sinfonia Beethoven with Thomas Adès concert on Friday, 26 May 2017, 7.30pm at St. Andrew s Hall SING SOME JAZZ WITH VIKTORIA JUGANZON Ages 11 + Dates Available throughout March - May Duration 1.5 hours Cost 7 per pupil Location Your school Group Size 30 max. Internationally renowned choreographers Claire Cunningham and Jess Curtis will lead a workshop researching themes and ideas related to their work The Way You Look (at me) Tonight (part of Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2017) investigating movement, our perceptions of each other and of our environment. Taking inspiration from the work of their collaborator Dr. Alva Noë whose philosophy suggests that perception is an activity happening in our whole bodies and not just our brains we will investigate through movement, language, writing, watching, listening and feeling, how difference of physicality or lived experience- and diversity can both inform and shape our perception. 8 ON THE MOON WITH HELLO DRAMA Ages 5 12 Dates Available throughout March, April & May Duration 1.5 hours Cost 5 per pupil Location Your school Group Size 16 per session Drawing inspiration from Norfolk & Norwich Festival s 2017 free outdoor art installation Museum of the Moon by artist Luke Jerram, Hello Drama has created a journey to the moon and beyond. Explore space, time and the whole universe through drama and your own creativity. A new touring artwork by UK artist Luke Jerram, Museum of the Moon is a giant inflatable moon featuring detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface, and surround sound composition created by BAFTA and Ivor Novello award winning composer Dan Jones. It can be found at The Forum from Friday 12 - Sunday 21 May during the Festival. Check our website nnfestival.org.uk for more information. 4
9 IOU REAR VIEW BY IOU Ages 11 + Dates 25 & 26 May, limited availability Times 10am, 11.30am & 1pm Duration 1.5 hours Cost FREE Location Starts at the Great Hospital, Norwich Group Size 44 max. Rear View is a location specific, multi-platform mystery tour where audiences view live performance and engage in participatory installations using digital technology. The streets of Norwich become the stage as you take a tour aboard IOU s custom-made converted bus, fitted with backward-facing raked seating, enabling you to watch the journey play out. Beginning in a life-drawing class, Rear View quickly becomes a moving adventure about a woman s life led by performance poets Cecilia Knapp and Jemima Foxtrot making reflections, predictions and observations that blur the line between reality and fiction. 5

Casus are recognised as a leader in contemporary circus on the international stage. Acrobats fill the stage with momentum and stillness, with strength and fragility, and overwhelm audiences with breathless emotion. A truly unique opportunity for your pupils! The answer is Norfolk! Discover the magic of the Norwich Snap Dragon, adventure through pre-historic Norfolk with a mammoth, find out why the region s famous mustard doesn t mix with smelly feet. Join Isabelle on a Mammoth Journey, where you can meet lots of different animals and make some noise! The performance is followed by creative writing exercises and word games in which children create a character for their own dragon and finish with drawing pictures. Optional Add a signed copy of The Norfolk Story Book published by the History Press for just 7! 8
13 Dibs McCallum PORTRAITURE WORKSHOP WITH WEX PHOTOGRAPHIC Ages Dates Limited availability, please enquire for more information Duration 4 hours Cost 15 per pupil Location Your school Group Size 15 max Young and enthusiastic photographers will get to work with one of Wex Photographic s highly experienced and talented workshop facilitators. This workshop will offer the unique opportunity for students to develop their portraiture photography skills, with use of a professional model and lighting. Workshop participants must bring their own camera DSLR or Compact System or bridge camera with manual capabilities. Wex can support with supplementary equipment such as lenses where possible. 9

Premiering at Norfolk & Norwich Festival 2017, this virtual reality swing set will be even more unique and outrageous with Brendan at the helm, leading you on his fantastic, wild ride. About Brendan Brendan Walker is a technology-inspired performance artist described by The Times as "the world's only Thrill Engineer". Brendan's unique brand of live entertainment, contraption building, and scientific experimentation has gained him international notoriety in both the arts and sciences. Brendan has featured on national and international TV and radio, and in the press. Brendan is a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Nottingham, a tutor at Central Saint Martin s College of Art, a consultant for the government's Arts and Humanities Research Council, a government champion for the sciences, and an experienced public speaker. 10

Build, decorate and step into the new character you create in this interactive and hands-on workshop. We meet in paradise, by TheatreFragile WEDNESDAY 17 AND THURSDAY 18 MAY, OUTSIDE THE FORUM, 8.30pm A theatrical collage of escape and exile. For this mask theatre piece, TheatreFragile met with local refugees and support workers to gather their stories and experiences. They bring these unheard voices to the centre of an interactive performance that poetically presents the complex issues of exile. 11

Book a workshop led by one of SCVA s artist educators to: Create an immersive installation of your own. Work with Kaitlin Ferguson to fill the entire space with geometric shape and colour, playing with light, shadow and reflection, or, try sculpting with new and unusual materials and learn about their properties. Construct 3D abstract artwork with artist Georgie Manly. Collaborate with others to build something on a large scale, or try creating a colourful, wearable sculpture with an interesting form. 12

Recommended for ages 7+ Juliet Kelly FAMILY JAZZ ALL-STARS SATURDAY 13 MAY, 11.30am & 2pm NORWICH PLAYHOUSE Join singer Juliet Kelly and some of the UK s finest jazz musicians in a fun-filled family show, leading you through a tribute to jazz singers past and present. Including songs from Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Astrud Gilberto, this show is a wonderful introduction to the best-loved jazz classics from down the years. Recommended for all ages 13
