The syllabus and entry form are available for download and you will be able to view the winning design of the T-shirt competition. The results of the 2015 Edinburgh Local Mod and previous mods are also available. Get involved If you would like to become more involved in the organisation of any aspect of the Edinburgh Local Mod we would like to hear from you. We are grateful to the volunteers we have already but we really need more. Please contact any of the Committee if you think you can help in any small way. Last year we had at least 60 volunteers doing specific tasks on Mod day and more would be wonderful. We'd also like to hear from you or your company if you can donate a prize / trophy or a raffle prize. Edinburgh Local Mod Notes for Entries The Edinburgh Local Mod is an annual celebration of Gaelic music and culture for children. It is organised by the local branch of An Comunn Gàidhealach. A list of all competitions and rules is provided in this Syllabus. The closing dates for entries - Friday 18 th and 25 th March 2016 are final. This is vital to give the organisers the opportunity to timetable competitions and prepare the programme, along with other administrative tasks that make the Mod run smoothly. Parents are asked to ensure that entry forms with fees (cash/cheque) and any attachments are in a sealed envelope when handed in to Bun-sgoil Taobh na Pàirce. Otherwise, please send entry forms, fees and attachments to Mairi Rogers, 17 Silverknowes Road, Edinburgh, EH4 5LG. Please do not send cash through the post and ensure full postage is paid Competitors should bring their own instruments as none will be provided. The Literary Competitions (90-96) are written in advance of the Mod and submitted with entry form by 18 th March for adjudication. Entries for Competitions 98 & 99 must be submitted by Friday 25 th March Results of all competitions adjudicated prior to the Mod will be announced at the Mod.
10 Parents/carers should be aware that on the days of the Mod there may be some unavoidable delays. This is because various competitions will be running at the same time and it may be that children cannot be where they are supposed to be at the required time. It s best to go with the flow to ensure an enjoyable day! Spectators in general and parents with very young children in particular are asked to be considerate to all competitors when listening to competitions. It is unfair to competitors if they are distracted by noise after all their hard work preparing for the Mod. Please remember that it is not permitted to enter or leave a competition room during a performance. * All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times* Local Mod Committee Mairi Rogers, Ian MacDonald, Joseph Wright, Sineag MacIntyre, Judith Macdonald, Carrie-Anne Gibb, Marion Buchanan, Catarina Penalosa, Claire MacPherson, Elizabeth Macaskill
