1 Name: What to include: The ABC s of Ancient China Assignment Outline 1. You will need to pick ONE item for each letter of the alphabet. For several letters, there is only one choice. 2. For each letter, you need to: a) Explain what or who it is / was. You need to explain why this person, place or item was an important part of Ancient Chinese Culture. b) Write a minimum of 2 sentences and a maximum of 5 for each explanation c) For at least 12 items, write one sentence that explains a connection to present day culture. (i.e. Buddhism is still practiced by many cultures and people around the world today.) d) Draw a picture and neatly colour it 3. Complete a title page. (must include title, picture, your name and colour) 4. Record all sources of information used on the bottom of each page (teacher will provide you will correct way to document source types) What Counts: 1. Spelling, Capitals, Grammar, Punctuation 2. Accurate information, clearly written in your own words 3. Organization 4. Neatness 5. Colour 6. References 7. Clear Connections See the attached rubric to see the specific areas you will be graded on, and as a guide to ensure you are fully meeting expectations of the assignment.
