2 What is Art? that is really a good question it may be the obvious: painting, dancing, sculpting, drawing, playing an instrument, and so on but in those things there is mathematics, language, geometry, physics, science, and so on So is our dilemma then how to separate art from the rest of the environment? 4 Expression art is one of the many ways children express themselves (remember singing or writing or pouring or counting a chain) art helps that child to control and coordinate movement it is a way for the mind and body to work together through art children feed the sensitive periods: order movement language refinement of sensorial perception art helps the child to express in a concrete manner what is felt emotionally art connects the child to people, geography, science, history and the way in which humans live AMI/USA Refresher Course
