3 BUST A MOVE How are you going with the dance moves that Thomas has been teaching you? Can you bust any moves yet? Thomas is a good teacher because he doesn t just show you what to do he also explains how to do the moves. Pretend you are trying to teach one of your friends how to glide. They missed this episode of VAMPtv so they didn t get to see the clip. To teach them them move you can show them but you also need to describe how they should move their body. CHEEKY DOGS Alekarenge school is 170km south of Tennant Creek in the community of Alekarenge (or Ali Curung) in dog dreaming country. The population of Alekarenge is about 600. Alekarenge is a Kaytete word meaning country of the dog, dog area or dog dreaming. It refers to an area of land visited by ancestral dogs during their travels around the country. The ancestral dogs, that travelled near Ali Curung, are believed to have created the landscape in their travels. The dogs that visited this area created the shallow watercourses and flood plains in this region. Watch and listen to the Cheeky Dog video clip carefully and answer the questions below. What is Ali Curung the land of? In the song, who shares their home with the cheeky dog? What will happen to you if you kill a dog? Who feeds the dogs in the community? 7 WONDER In the last episode we asked you to start thinking about songs for next year s Beat Festival. The theme for next year s beat is wonder. Here is the definition of wonder again: Wonder is a hard feeling to describe. It is a really good feeling that you feel when something amazes you. You might feel wonder when you see a really beautiful sunset and you think about how much you love your country and how special it is. You might feel wonder when you see your baby brother or sister for the first time and think how did this tiny little person come into the world?. We asked you to write down three things that fill you with wonder. Then we asked you to write down some times you felt amazed or full of wonder. This was to get you thinking of ideas for a song. Using your ideas decide what your song is going to be about. Is it going to tell a story about a feeling or adventure you had? Or do you want to convey a general message to people? For example, do you want to tell people how beautiful and special your country is? Or how good love makes you feel? Write in the box below what your song is going to be about. You don t have to write a lot, just a few words that make it easy to understand what your song is about. Now that you have a basic idea for your song it will make it easier to write.
