6 Guest Instructions Before The Party With your invitation, you should receive these instructions and details of the character you are going to play together with your costume ideas and a pre game clue. (This clue helps to set the scene for the evening s events). Follow the costume suggestions but feel free to improvise wherever you prefer. On The Night On arrival at the party you may be given a nametag or label (please be careful with delicate fabrics). The host will then make an announcement about what has just happened and the mystery will begin. You will be given your player clues and the events will unfold. On your first slip is some secret information, which you should not reveal unless directly challenged. Your slip will also tell you whether you are the murderer or not. If you are the murderer you may lie as much as you like. If you are not the murderer you must tell the truth. As the evening progresses you will be able to ask and answer questions, read clues and form your opinion as to the identity of the murderer. At the end of all the rounds the host will ask each player to make an accusation, giving reason, motive and method, of who they think is the murderer. After everybody has guessed the host then asks the players to read their solution round slip in strict number order, starting with the lowest number first. Each player then reads his or her own section until the murderer is revealed. Host-Party.com Office Murder Mystery Games Page 3 of 9
7 Round 1 - Terror on the tracks Round Instructions Gautier Seet should read the introduction. General Clue (Share with all Guests) INTRODUCTION TO BE READ BY GAUTIER SEET AT THE START OF ROUND 1 Bonsoir Mesdames et monsieurs. Pardon, it may be better if I speak in ze English. Thank you all for coming to the restaurant car. On behalf of Le Compagnie International Des Wagons Lits I must apologise for ze heavy breaking and the abrupt stopping of ze train a few moments ago. I have been trying to establish what caused ze train to stop in such an emergency fashion and I have some terrible news. It appears that ze train stopped because Lord Dunnit pulled ze communication cord outside compartment 8 in carriage B. Lord Dunnit had just found his wife, who you all know as Agatha Frisky, lying on ze floor of ze compartment. Madame Frisky has been examined by ze nurse Miss DeMeenur and I am afraid to announce that she is dead. Due to the bluish-purple discolouration of her skin it appears that she has been poisoned and we will all have to wait on board ze train until ze police allow us to leave. Although we are on French soil at the moment the investigation will be carried out by some English policemen from Scotland Yard. They are on the trail of a jewel thief and have agreed to help out as so many people speak English. At present they are examining the crime scene and until they arrive here to question us we must remain here in the restaurant cart. We might as well try to solve this mystery ourselves. 8 Round 1 Clue for Alex Plane clue REVEAL THIS INFORMATION NOW Good Evening. I am Alex Plane and I am proud to be the husband of Agatha s daughter Jess. We only got married two days ago and this was supposed to be our honeymoon. It is a shame that such a terrible thing has happened on what was supposed to be such a wonderful trip. This clue should be revealed to others. "- Round 1 Clue for Bella Sella clue REVEAL THIS INFORMATION NOW Buena Sera, sona Bella Sella. Mi scusi, I forgot I need to speak in English. My name is Bella Sella and I am Agatha s continental publisher. I took on Agatha as a client last year and I have already released some of her best sellers in Italian, French and German. Sales had been going very well but I am extremely worried about the future now that somebody has murdered Agatha. This clue should be revealed to others. 9 Round 1 Clue for Colonel Nutt clue REVEAL THIS INFORMATION NOW Good evening to all of you gentlemen and sahibs. My name is Colonel Nutt, first name is Filbert but everybody calls me The Colonel. I spent most of my career in India and I was a Colonel in the 46th Punjabis. We used to fight on the Tibetan Trail, you know, back in the good old days. I retired just over a year ago after a long and distinguished army career and I am only just getting used to the English weather again. It is really strange to meet so many people that I know on the train. I was coming away on this trip to try and relax after a stressful time. I didn t expect to meet my neighbour Hugh Dunnit and his sahib. This clue should be revealed to others. "- Round 1 Clue for Gautier Seet clue REVEAL THIS INFORMATION NOW (IN A FRENCH ACCENT IF YOU ARE HAPPY ATTEMPTING ONE) Bonsoir, Monsieur's et Mesdames. I am Gautier Seet and I have been looking after you all since you left Calais. I take great pride in my carriage and I think that Carriage B is the best on the whole train. I am extremely upset that somebody has died under my care. It s even worse that the victim is a famous person. That will mean it will be in all the papers. I have never had anybody die in my carriage before. This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Office Murder Mystery Games Page 6 of 9
10 Round 1 Clue for Jess Plane-Frisky clue REVEAL THIS INFORMATION NOW Hello everybody. I am Jess, Agatha s daughter. Actually it s Jess Plane-Frisky as I got married to Alex two days ago. I love being a newly wed on honeymoon and this train is so luxurious. It s a shame there are no double beds, just bunk beds. I was hoping that a couple of days on the same train as Mummy might give me a chance to get back into her good books. I think that she was a touch miffed that I eloped off to Gretna with Alex to get married without inviting her along. Now I ll never have a chance for her to be proud of me. (STARTS CRYING) This clue should be revealed to others. Host-Party.com Office Murder Mystery Games Page 7 of 9
