2 Synopsis 1 Love Does Grow on Trees is a coming of age comedy about a teenage boy whose life is thrown into chaos when he discovers porn magazines, girls and the embarrassment that goes with both. It s a sweet, nostalgic story of lust, guilt and ultimately - first love. Funding Funded by the Wandsworth Film Award in association with Film London. The Filmmakers Bevan Walsh Writer/Director Bevan has a B.A. in Film Production and has been working in the film industry for 10 years. He has created behind the scenes and EPK material for feature films (including Enigma, Fogbound, Millions and the remake of The Omen) which has given him a first hand look at the film making process and the privilege to watch some great directors at work. Bevan made his first short film, Mumbo Jumbo, in 2005, it starred Javone Prince, Tom Brooke and Andrew Garfield and screened at the Final Cut Festival and Portobello Film Festival as well as gaining a large online following. He then shot a music video for The Kills track Passion Is Accurate as part of the Radar Festival competition. The project screened at the Brighton Festival, Shortwave Film & Music Showcase, the Portobello Film Festival, the Bornshorts International Film Festival and was a finalist in the 'best music video' category at the Super Shorts Film Festival Bevan recently took part in the Think-Shoot-Distribute training program run by the London Film Festival as well as featuring in an Arena magazine article profiling the next generation of filmmakers. He has since completed his first children s book and is working on a number of new short films as well as a feature script. He is currently teaching filmmaking for the Cineclub young filmmakers network. Geraldine Patten Producer Geraldine has worked as Producer s Assistant for various US and UK producers on films including Last Orders (Elisabeth Robinson), Ripley s Game, Evelyn and The Life and Death of Peter Sellers (Simon Bosanquet), Derailed (Lorenzo di Bonaventura), Closer (Celia Costas) and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (David Heyman). Geraldine worked for David Heyman, the producer of the Harry Potter films, for two years, assisting him across his film and television projects. In 2007 she left to establish Keel Films, and that year was chosen to take part in Think-Shoot-Distribute, a training programme run by the London Film Festival. Since then Geraldine has acquired a broad slate of feature film projects with exciting writers and directors. She has received development funding from the UK Film Council with the writer Rukhsana Ahmad for an adaptation of the Booker longlisted novel Maps For Lost Lovers by Nadeem Aslam. She is also developing teen comedy thriller, Time Flies, by Bevan Walsh. Geraldine is also active in the short film world and is currently in post-production on Morning Echo, a 20 minute film by Hope Dickson Leach, which has been funded by Film London and stars Kerry Fox. Geraldine recently took part in the Producers Lab at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, and was named a runner-up in the British Council s Young Screen Entrepreneur Awards and will go on a sponsored tour of the Indian film industry in February 2009.

3 Alan Stewart Director of Photography 2 Alan has extensive experience shooting second unit for many feature films including Elizabeth, Best, Enigma, Some Voices, The Lives of Saints, Agent Cody Banks 2, Miss Potter, What a Girl Wants and more recently Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Fred Claus as well as recently released Inkheart and The Duchess. He was director of photography on feature film Broken Thread (starring Saffron Burrows & Linus Roache), numerous commercials and television projects including The Quatermass Experiment, The Rotters Club, Quite Ugly One Morning and Murder City and has also shot several short films. Alexandra Walker Production Designer Alex has been working in film art departments since She has worked on films such as Notting Hill, The World is Not Enough and, more recently, four of the Harry Potter films and Young Victoria. She designed a "Reduced Shakespeare Theatre Company" film called The Barn, which won best low budget feature at Raindance While now working mainly as an Art Director she is enjoying becoming more involved and gaining experience at a production design level on independent features and short films. Alice Searby Casting Alice has been working as casting assistant to Lucy Bevan and Fiona Weir for the past three years, during which time she has worked on a variety of projects such as The Golden Compass, Venus, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Boy A and The Golden Age. She is currently working with Fiona Weir on Harry Potter and the Halfblood Prince. Alice has also cast several projects in her own right, most recently the short film The Ground Beneath Her Feet, which was commissioned for the Manchester Music Festival and directed by Mike Figgis. Dan Roberts Editor Dan most recently edited the BBC period drama Cranford, starring Judi Dench and Imelda Staunton. He was Assembly Editor on John Madden's latest feature film Killshot (starring Mickey Rourke, Diane Lane & Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and has already cut fifteen short films. Dan worked as a first assistant editor on a range of feature film projects including East is East, Enemy at the Gates, Dirty Pretty Things, Mona Lisa Smile, Proof and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Nathan Larson Composer Nathan was lead guitarist and songwriter for US rock band Shudder to Think who, after four hugely successful albums, began writing music for feature films. They wrote the songs for Velvet Goldmine and scored High Art soon after. The band parted ways in 1999 but Nathan continues a successful career as a composer on such films as Boys Don t Cry, Tigerland, Storytelling, Dirty Pretty Things, The Woodsman, Palindromes and Little Fish. He has most recently scored the film Choke, based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel and starring Sam Rockwell & Anjelica Huston.
