3 BOX OFFICE Fri 26 Oct - Thurs 1 Nov Smallfoot (U) 1hrs 36mins An animated adventure for all ages, with original music and an all-star cast, 'Smallfoot' turns the Bigfoot legend upside down when a bright young Yeti finds something he thought didn't exist a human. News of this 'smallfoot' brings him fame and a chance with the girl of his dreams. It also throws the simple Yeti community into an uproar over what else might be out there in the big world beyond their snowy village, in a rollicking story about friendship, courage and the joy of discovery. Fri 26 Oct - Thur 1Nov Johnny English Strikes Again (PG) 1hr 29mins Rowan Atkinson returns as the much loved accidental secret agent. The new adventure begins when a cyber-attack reveals the identity of all active undercover agents in Britain, leaving Johnny English as the secret service's last hope. Called out of retirement, English dives head first into action with the mission to find the mastermind hacker. As a man with few skills and analogue methods, Johnny English must overcome the challenges of modern technology to make this mission a success. Halloween Special Wednesday 31 October, 7pm Mon 29 Oct Buxton Film: The Wound (15) 1hr 28mins. No trailers Not many African films break through into the UK, but this film has gained great acclaim. X is a young factory worker assigned to support a westernised city-boy who is enduring his Xhosa tribe s highly ritualised circumcision ceremony. X s return to the mountain camp allows for a secret relationship with a fellow carer. A triangle develops and the film contrasts macho themes with sensitive desires. Two clashing detectives, one human and one puppet, are forced to work together to try and solve who is brutally murdering the former cast of 'The Happytime Gang', a beloved classic puppet show. (12A) 2hr 50mins (includes interval) Filmed live at London s Bridge Theatre during its limited run, don t miss this rousing chorus line for the NHS (Observer) in your local cinema. The Beth, an old fashioned cradle-to-grave hospital serving a town on the edge of the Pennines, is threatened with closure as part of an efficiency drive. A documentary crew, eager to capture its fight for survival, follows the daily struggle to find beds on the Dusty Springfield Geriatric Ward, and the triumphs of the old people s choir. Sat 3 - Thurs 8 Nov Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween (PG) 1hr 30mins Halloween comes to life yet again in a new horror comedy movie based on the Goosebumps series of books by best-selling children's author, R.L. Stine. When two boys stumble upon an old abandoned house, they open a locked book titled "Haunted Halloween". Mon 5 Nov The Guardians (15) 2hrs 18mins. No trailers Lovely wide-screen images of the French countryside provide the backdrop to this story of the women who were left behind to work the land while their menfolk were away fighting World War 1. The women worked hard and found independence which was uncomfortably interrupted when the men returned from the front. An affecting gentle-paced drama that avoids sentimentality. Wed 7 Nov MGC Presents: Red (pre-recorded) ( Cert TBC) Under the watchful gaze of his young assistant, and the threatening presence of a new generation of artists, Mark Rothko takes on his greatest challenge yet: to create a definitive work for an extraordinary setting. MGC Artistic Director Michael Grandage directs this first ever UK revival since directing the world premiere at the Donmar Warehouse in The production went on to win six Tony Awards, including Best Play. Fri 9 Nov War Above The Trenches (12A) Celebrating the 100th anniversary of WW1 this feature drama documentary reveals how the British and French airmen fought a desperate campaign to support the Western Front. As the eyes of the artillery, they guide the high explosives onto the enemy, the novelty and wonder of flight replaced by the cold certainty of violent death. Produced by a Staffordshire film production company using local locations, actors and crew, bringing a truly filmatic experience to the horrors of the great war.

No trailers Brady is the Rider; he has a natural affinity with horses but his biggest kicks come from rodeo until a life-threatening injury puts an end to his career Based on his real-life story Brady Jandreau s performance is gripping and the scenes training young horses are compelling drama. This portrait of a man finding his way is unflinching and, ultimately, hopeful. This screening is programmed by Buxton Film*. Wed 14 Nov RSC Live: Troilus and Cressida (12A) 3hr 30mins (includes interval) Troilus and Cressida swear they will always be true to one another. But in the seventh year of the siege of Troy their innocence is tested, and exposed to the savage corrupting influence of war, with tragic consequences. Virtuoso percussionist Evelyn Glennie collaborates with RSC Artistic Director Gregory Doran to create a satirical futuristic vision of a world resounding with the rhythm of battle, broadcast live to cinemas from Shakespeare's home town.

Sun 18 Nov The Royal Ballet: La Bayadère (pre-recorded) (Cert TBC) 3hr 5mins (includes interval) Marius Petipa s fantasy, set in legendary India, tells the tale of a temple dancer and the prince who loves her but marries another. The famous, moonlit white act - The Kingdom of the Shades - is a corps de ballet highlight, as multiple images of the prince s lost love haunt his mind. The choreography allows two opposing ballerinas to shine, while a bronze idol comes vividly to life in a stunning solo. Mon 19 Nov The Graduate (12A) 1hr 41mins Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) has just finished college and, back at his parents' house, he's trying to avoid the one question everyone keeps asking: What does he want to do with his life? An unexpected diversion crops up when he is seduced by Mrs. Robinson (Anne Bancroft), a bored housewife. The fun becomes complicated when Benjamin falls for Mrs. Robinson s daughter. No trailers Agnes Varda s latest film is a documentary made alongside JR - a photographer and muralist 55 years her junior. Together they present episodes in the lives of seemingly ordinary French people. Photographed portraits are massively enlarged and posted onto public spaces. The formula is simple but totally winning: a film free of any malice or cynicism, its humanity will bring tears to your eyes. This screening is programmed by Buxton Film*. Tues 20 Nov NT Live: The Madness of KING GEORGE III (12A) 3hr 30mins (includes interval) Written by Alan Bennett, this play was also adapted into a BAFTA Award-winning film. It s 1786 and King George III is the most powerful man in the world. But his behaviour is becoming increasingly erratic as he succumbs to fits of lunacy. With the King s mind unravelling at a dramatic pace, politicians and the Prince of Wales threaten to undermine the power of the Crown, and expose the fine line between a King and a man. Mon 26 Nov Buxton Film: Lucky (15) 1hr 28mins. No trailers This is Harry Dean Stanton s swansong - and what a joy it is. Lucky lives in a small town in New Mexico. His life is uncomplicated and he has routines, habits and addictions. Yoga, TV, coffee, tobacco and a little conversation are most of what he needs. He knows he s not long to live and he expects no afterlife, but Lucky seems OK with his lot. This screening is programmed by Buxton Film*. Tues 27 & Wed 28 Nov Wildlife (12A) 1hr 45mins Fourteen-year-old Joe is the only child of Jeanette and Jerry - a housewife and a golf pro - in a small town in 1960s Montana. Nearby, an uncontrolled forest fire rages close to the Canadian border, and when Jerry loses his job, and his sense of purpose, he decides to join the cause of fighting the fire, leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves. Suddenly forced into the role of an adult, Joe witnesses his mother's struggle as she tries to keep her head above water.

Fri 30 Nov - Mon 3 Dec Bohemian Rhapsody (12A) 2hrs 14mins. A foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury. Freddie defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound. After a short solo career, Freddie reunited with his bandmates just in time for Live Aid. While bravely facing a recent AIDS diagnosis, Freddie led the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music.
