One of The Superstar of The Showband Era! Has had a huge International Carrer and has been feted from Las Vegas to The Deep South of USA. Gina from The Champions - Quite simply the biggest female vocalist of the Showband era. She was loved, North, South, East and West. Fri 9th Feb 8.00pm Dave Lawlor - A hugh surprise hit on last year s show. But no surprise to those who know of his ability. A big voice, a master stage craftsman. All you could ask for in an entertainer. Keith and Lorraine McDonald - This great Brother and Sister combination from one of the oldest musical families in Ireland. Their Father, Frankie was trumpet player with Joe Dolan for many years. The Conquerors Showband - One of the greatest Showbands of them all and still packing them in everywhere they go. The Galway boys sang Baby Blue and many more hits. Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg sing their Euro Songs from way and their other massive hits! 4 AIKEN PROMOTIONS PRESENT IRON & WINE Sam Beam is a singer-songwriter who has been creating music as Iron & Wine for over a decade. Through the course of five albums, numerous EPs and singles, and the initial volumes of an Archive Series - Iron & Wine has captured the emotion and imagination of listeners with distinctly cinematic songs. Iron & Wine is currently celebrating the first two installments of the Archive Series on Sam s own label, Black Cricket Recording Co. Both releases tap into work created before Sam was Iron & Wine, when he was making music only to be heard by his family. Songs from these same home recording sessions were used for Iron & Wine s debut, The Creek Drank The Cradle. Just announced! Iron and Wine will be supported by Half Waif: Nandi Rose Plunkett writes, records and performs under the name Half Waif. But above all, he relates to Johnny s music like no other I have ever heard He has appeared with superstars of Country Music all over America. 6 SEAMUS O ROURKE FUNDRAISER FOR CAVAN GAA Seamus O Rourke once again brings us a story full of heartache and humour, as a pair of aging, rural, bachelor brothers arrive at a point in their lives, where decisions have to be made about certain things well the buying of a television for one and one subject leads to another and the next thing, they re bringing up all kinds of auld shite that could have been left under the bed along with everything else. 7 BAILIEBOROUGH SCHOOL OF MUSIC 30 TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT Performers from Co Cavan will include our Senior and Junior Bands, The Groove Big Band made up of past students, and various ensembles from present and past students. Special guests will be a choir from Scoil Mhuire, Scoil Bhride and Scoil Eoin Phoil, Leixlip. We will perform a wide variety of film, tv and pop music to celebrate this great achievement and give a wonderful platform for these talented musicians to perform. Musical Director for the evening is Micheál Gaskin and special guest MC is Kevin McGahern. Each performance includes a discussions with the students and the opportunity to participate. Cyclone Rep s Shakespeare Sessions will guide Junior Cert and Leaving Cert learners in their understanding of The Bard s masterpieces. Cyclone Rep will be performing the The King Lear Reboot and The Hamlet Session for Leaving Certificate students, and for Junior Cert students they will perform Romeo & Juliet and The Merchant Sessions. 8 DDCSM PRESENTS EMMANUEL 2018 AT THE HELIX Over 2500 students (approx. 600 each day) from 70 Second Level Schools will participate in Emmanuel 2018 this year at The Helix. The much coveted soloist spots have been allocated and the schools are in full swing after the Christmas break. The Concert in the Helix is the culmination of a day of workshops and rehearsals for the students. Come and be energised by these young people praising God with energy and enthusiasm. A full list of participating schools available on and their relevant concert dates are on our website which also contains the Liturgical Song list for this year. Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture aims to inspire and ignite passion in these teenagers while at the same time subtly educating them about the importance of recycling and reusing waste. Over the last seven years, Bank of Ireland Junk Kouture has established itself as the premier recycled fashion competition for teenagers throughout Ireland. It is just a short drive from Dublin city centre, Dublin airport, and the M50 (Ballymun Exit) and M1 motorways. The campus is bordered by Ballymun Road and Collins Avenue. Access to the campus by car is by Collins entrance only. For your convenience we have a fully secure multi-story car park conveniently located directly opposite the main building. Car park tickets can be purchased from our Café Bar at a reduced price of only 4 for the duration of your entire stay.
