2 WIRED SYNOPSIS KIRBY VANNING is not like other twenty year olds. An agoraphobic shut in after her Asperbergers ruined her college career she now subsists on BDSM and Adderall and runs a preventative dating agency on the internet, debunking fake online profiles and taking down revenge porn. Online she s alive, offline she barely exists, a ghost to everyone but her concerned mom JANET VANNING and her beloved cat MOEBIUS, dismissive of the normies that exist in the outside world. Her condition gifts Kirby with methodical intensity, the ability to chase code with incredible focus and detail but it also makes it hard for her to show emotion or maintain the thing she craves most, human connection. Kirby s life is upended when she stumbles across a forum of ID s online- internet detectives. This ragtag group of wannabe sleuths come from all walks of life, excops, housewives, CEO s yet all of them obsessed with solving the unsolvable online. Kirby s fixation with order and rules finds its apex in this strange netherworld of people who seek justice through a keyboard. As she gets hooked on ID.net Kirby finds herself creating actual friends on its forums and webcams, and somehow even a burgeoning relationship with VANGAR, a mysterious hacker who helps her solve her first cold case. From the safety of her bedroom a whole world opens up, of homicides to solve and wrongs to right.

But when a disturbing murder is committed in her own neighbourhood Kirby and the ID s realise it s all part of an unseen pattern that stretches back decades.

Kirby makes the jump from macbook to cellphone screen as she pursues its trail to the one place she vowed to never go back to... The real world. When Kirby ventures out into the city for the first time in years, the gang help her adjust to her trauma and run forensics in real time. But as they work to solve the mystery she begins to hide pieces of her investigation from them when she discovers that the murders may have a connection with her father LEON VANNING S disappearance decades ago. Was her father another victim, or the perpetrator? And what happens when they discover she s been lying to them? When Vangar shows up at her door unexpectedly and her mother learns the truth behind her other life Kirby s tenuous grasp on control slips, plunging her and the killer into twisted cat and mouse online. No-one can be trusted as a shocking death hits close to home and her whole life is hacked. Kirby closes in on the true killer, a dangerous search that will bring her face to face with her past, her greatest fears... And herself.

4 THE TEAM Aidan Largey Writer/Director Aidan Largey is a writer/director of numerous award winning shorts, which several works being broadcast online and on television. He co-created, wrote and directed the crime series Farr for RTE and the Irish Film Board where it debuted to Number 1 on the Rte Player with the highest ratings of any Storyland series. It was also critically successful, winning Best Drama from the ITVFest and Best Director and Best Drama Pilot from SERIESFEST in America and its lead taking two separate Best Actor Awards for his powerful performance. His latest film, the NI Screen funded Time and Again is currently on the festival circuit and stars David Rawle (Moone Boy) and Ian Beattie (Game Of Thrones) A recent spec pilot, Bleeder, was a Finalist for SCREENCRAFTS SCREENWRITING FELLOWSHIP 2017 from over 2000 scripts. He has also experience with Screen Format Based Shorts with his festival film 247. Aidan is currently working on his feature debut as a writer/director and developing Farr as a long form series for the BBC and has just optioned two US based pilot scripts, Bleeder and Actual Innocence, with Causeway Pictures and Kew Media Group. Aidan is currently in post-production on a PSNI (Police Service Northern Ireland) funded short film based on two true life cases of teenage grooming called WhoRU? Aidan s work has been covered on IndieWire, FilmSchoolRejects and Cinephilia And Beyond. Margaret McGoldrick Producer Margaret McGoldrick is a Northern Irish based producer/director. A graduate of the Rotterdam Producer s Lab and the UK Filmonomics course, she most recently wrote and directed children s short, Finding Shakespeare, through the BFI/Northern Ireland Screen Access Shorts scheme. In 2014/15, Margaret produced the crime mini-webseries, FARR, through RTE/IFB Storyland, which secured record high viewings and won several awards on its festival run through the US, UK & Ireland. Farr is now currently in development as a long form TV series. At the same time, Margaret directed her short film, Waiting Game (2014), a POW short based during the Korean War

5 before moving on to her next, Before Tomorrow (2015), a character drama which follows the changes in a group of friends in the night before one marries. In 2015, Margaret produced NI Screen short film Time & Again (2016), which recently closed its festival run with an online release via Cinephillia & Beyond and in 2016 she produced short film Childer via the BFI/Northern Ireland Screen Shorts-To-Features scheme, which is currently still on its festival run. Margaret is currently on post-production on her short film, The Hangman, which she wrote and directed, a two-hander between a prisoner and his hangman during 1950 s Belfast as the latest short film she produced, The Invention (2018) begins it s festival run. Her feature producer-debut, the indie-budget slasher Braxton (2016/17), was released in 2017 on various VOD platform. It is now available as of 2018 through UK, Ireland, Canada & America on DVD. Margaret is currently producing the period horror feature, The Morrigan, for a 2018 shoot as she develops Finding Shakespeare as a returnable children s show. Chris Patterson Producer Chris begain working in the production industry in 1999 when, as a student at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, he earned a BA in Theatre Studies: Stage Management. Upon finishing his degree, Chris worked in the concert production industry before moving into TV and Film Location Management. He spent his first 10 years in the industry working as Location Manager, Production Manager and Line Producer across the UK and Ireland on projects as varied as Auf Weidershen Pet (2002), NBC s Branson: The Billionaire, Mersey Beat (2004), Quantum of Solace (2009), Hellboy 2: The Golden Army (2009) and 1 Nenokkadine (2014). In 2008, Chris established Causeway Pictures through which he has developed a bank of projects for television, feature doc and feature narrative. In 2015, Chris completed production on Causeway s feature documentary Hostage To The Devil, which sold to Netflix for a 2017 world premiere via Kew Media. More recently, if further developing the Causeway slate through a First Look deal in conjunction with Northern Ireland Screen and Kew Media Group. Chris is also currently one third of a writing team developing the large scale TV project, Hy Brasil.

We have a number of freelance creative collaborators working alongside us, who have an impressive back catalogue of work and have been part of many award winning projects. Causeway Pictures is an award-winning service company with commercials taking awards at both Cannes Lions and the Kinsale Sharks. Causeway Pictures is passionate about developing emerging Northern Ireland talent. We have recently produced Northern Ireland Screen/BFI backed short films by local emerging talent and are currently in development with features and television projects with those directors and writers. In the meantime, we are also developing several feature projects in-house and have recently seen the international release of our feature documentary, Hostage To The Devil, to online platforms itunes, Amazon and Netflix. Causeway Pictures is currently in development on several projects led by period-horror feature The Morrigan and feature-documentaries Move: The Tragedy of Philadelphia and Missing: Presumed.
