3 About Camp Allen: CAMP ALLEN is a modern year-round facility located one hour northwest of Houston. The hotel and conference center are located in a beautiful pine forest with rolling hills and two lakes. Camp Allen accommodates a variety of spiritual, social, corporate, and educational events for all ages. Getting There: Conveniently located in Navasota only an hour from Houston, the entrance to Camp Allen is 6.3 miles from the intersection of 1488 and 362. You can book flights to Bush Intercontinental Airport. Camp Allen Conference & Retreat Center FM 362 Navasota, Texas Payment and Cancellation Policy: All-inclusive fee is $150 for the weekend. This covers all meals, lodging, and tuition. Payment is due in full by April 1, You may pay by check (made out to VdGSA) or by Visa/Mastercard. Cancellations must be made by March 31, 2019 to receive a refund. NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE AFTER MARCH 31, 2019

4 Brent Wissick has been interested in viola da gamba since he was a high school student in the early 1970s. He started to learn gamba while majoring in cello as an undergrad and started teaching viol at the College of St Scholastica in Minnesota in 1978, when he joined the VdGSA and started attending conclaves. He has taught gamba and cello at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill since 1982 and was President of the VdGSA from , producing the first online teaching videos for the Society and helping to establish the Grant in Aid program for young artists. He loves teaching viol and consort playing to people of all ages, but has a special interest in encouraging young gambists to sustain the community of life long viol playing. Brady Lanier is an Associate Instructor at Indiana University where he is pursuing a DM in viola da gamba performance, studying with Joanna Blendulff and Wendy Gillespie. A founding member of Quaver Viol Consort ( he has performed on viola da gamba, baroque and modern cello around the country with numerous ensembles such as the Houston Bach Society, Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra, Second City Musick, the Princeton Fesitval, Ars Lyrica, and Musikanten Montana. Mr. Lanier is the founder and director of the "HPI goes POP!" ensemble, performing on the Bloomington Early Music Festival for the past four seasons. He serves on the faculty of the Viola da Gamba Society of America's summer Conclave, Music On The Mountain, and the Texas Toot. Mr. Lanier is also much in demand as an arranger and composer, having had works performed by the Houston Symphony and the United States Air Force Orchestra. He can soon be heard serenading the masses at Colonial Williamsburg, VA. Pedro Funes is currently the Assistant Orchestra Director at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe ISD and Director of the Aquila di Guerra, hs viol ensemble. He specializes in baroque bass, viola da gamba, and vielle. He received his Master s Degree in Early Music Performance from Indiana University. Currently he is the President of Viols of Houston and President of Houston Early Music. He has performed with many ensembles in Texas with Austin Troubadours, Austin Baroque Orchestra, La Follia, Texas Early Music Project, and Ars Lyrica. He also cofounded the chamber ensemble Les Touches who were finalists at the York Early Music Young Artists Competition in 2015.
