4 ALGEMENE REËLS EN INLIGTING / GENERAL RULES AND INFORMATION 1. INSKRYWINGS / ENTRIES 1.1 Die Harrismith Eisteddfod webtuiste is: Indien u nie toegang tot die internet het nie, kan inligting van die Voorsitter verkry word. The Harrismith Eisteddfod website is: If you do not have access to the internet, information can be obtained from the Chairperson. 1.2 Inskrywings kan op twee maniere gedoen word: verkieslik AANLYN of op die TRADISIONELE INSKRYWINGSVORMS. Entries can be done in two ways: prefereably ONLINE or via TRADITIONAL ENTRY FORMS. 1.3 AANLYN-INSKRYWINGSISTEEM. Indien u van die aanlyn-inksrywingsisteem gebruik maak, volg asb. die skakels en riglyne soos uiteengesit op die webtuiste. ONLINE ENTRY SYSTEM. If you are using the online entry system, please follow the links and guidelines as set out on the website. 1.4 TRADISIONELE INSKRYWINGSVORMS. Inskrywingsvorms is beskikbaar op die webtuiste en kan afgelaai word om met die hand ingevul of op u rekenaar voltooi te word. TRADITIONAL ENTRY FORMS. Entry forms can be downloaded from the website for completion by hand or on your computer Om administrasie te bespoedig, voltooi die kontakpersoon se besonderhede voordat afskrifte van die inksrywingsvorm gemaak word. To speed up administration, complete the contact person s particulars before copying the entry form Vir individuele/solo items of werke, vul elke item van n deelnemer op n afsonderlike inskrywingsvorm in. Voltooi die vorm volledig met die korrekte naam en kode van die item. For individual/solo items or works, fill out each item of a participant on a separate entry form. Complete the form fully with the correct name and code of the item In geval van n duet, trio, kwartet of groepe van 4 en minder, kan al die deelnemers se name op n enkele inskrywingsvorm ingevul word. n Sertifikaat word uitgereik aan elkeen van die deelnemers. In the case of a duo, trio, quartet or groups of 4 and less, all the names of the participants can be entered on a single entry form. A certificate will be issued to each of the participants Met groepe van 5 of meer lede en bv. kore, spreekkore, revuegroepe, eenbedrywe of produksies moet slegs die naam van die groep en die getal deelnemers ingevul word. Slegs een sertifikaat sal uitgereik word. With groups of 5 or more members and e.g. choirs, choral verses, revue groups, one-act plays or productions only the name of the group and the number of participants must be entered. 5 1.4.6 Die inskrywingsvorms mag ook per faks of e-pos gestuur word na: The entry forms may also be submitted via fax or to: Faks / Fax: E-pos / info@harrismitheisteddfod.co.za 1.5 Skakel die sameroepster van elke afdeling indien daar onduidelikheid bestaan oor n item en die toepaslike kode wat gebruik moet word. Contact the convenor of each category if there is uncertainty about an item and the appropriate code to be used. 1.6 Die sluitingsdatum vir inskrywings is Vrydag 31 Mei Closing date for entries is Friday 31 May Geen laat inskrywings sal aanvaar word nie. Uitsonderings is onderhewig aan die diskresie van die Eisteddfodkomitee. GEEN inskrywings sal aanvaar word in die week van die Eisteddfod nie. No late entries will be considered. Exceptions are subject to the discretion of the Eisteddfod committee. NO entries will be allowed during the week of the Eisteddfod. 1.8 Bevestig asb. dat ons u inskrywings ontvang het om teleurstelling te voorkom! To prevent disappointment please confirm that we have received your entries! 1.9 Die finale aanvaarding van inskrywings berus by die Eisteddfod-komitee. The final acceptance of entries is at the discretion of the Eisteddfod committee. 2. 6 2.1 Inskrywingsgeld kan slegs op die volgende wyses betaal word: Entry fees can only be paid by means of the following: a) Payfast met aanlyn inskrywing / Payfast with online entry b) Tjek deposito / Cheque deposit. c) Elektroniese oorplasing / Electronic transfer. GEEN KONTANT SAL AANVAAR WORD NIE. NO CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. 2.2 Indien u nog van die tradsionele inskrywingsvorm gebruik maak, moet n bewys van betaling saam met die inskrywingsvorms en opsommingsvorm aan die Voorsitter gestuur word. If you are still using the tradisional entry forms, proof of payment should be submitted to the Chairperson along with the entry forms and summary form. 2.3 Die opsommingsvorm is op die webtuiste beskikbaar. Dit MOET ingevul word as n betaling vir meer as een individu se inskrywing gemaak word (bv. n skoolbetaling). The summary form is available on the web site. It MUST be completed when a payment is made for more than one individual s entries (e.g. a school payment). 2.4 Bankbesonderhede vir direkte deposito of elektroniese oorplasing: Banking details for direct deposit or electronic transfer: HARRISMITH EISTEDDFOD, Standard Bank, Harrismith-tak, rekeningnommer HARRISMITH EISTEDDFOD, Standard Bank, Harrismith branch, account number Inskrywingsgeld word NIE terugbetaal nie, tensy die item deur die organiseerders gekanselleer word. Entry fees will NOT be refunded, unless an item is cancelled by the organizers. 3. DEELNAME / PARTICIPATION 3.1 Slegs een inskrywing word per item met n spesifieke kode vir individuele deelnemers toegelaat. Only one entry is allowed per item with a specific code for individual participants. 3.2 Leerlinge mag GLAD NIE onder meer as een skoolgraad deelneem nie. Groepsitems word uitgesluit. Except for group items, learners may NOT participate under more than one school grade. 3.3 Geen deelnemers mag, waar ouderdomsbeperkings is, onder meer as een ouderdomsgroep inskryf nie. Ouderdom word bepaal op die dag wanneer die Eisteddfod n aanvang neem. Participants may not enter in more than one age group where age restrictions are stipulated. Age is determined on the day when the Eisteddfod commences. 3.4 Deelnemers MOET 30 minute VOOR die aanvang van hul sessie gereed wees, aangesien vorige sessie(s) vroeër afgehandel kan word as geskeduleer. Die organiseerders kan nie verantwoordelik gehou word indien n optrede binne hierdie tydsgleuf gemis word nie. Participants MUST be ready at least 30 minutes BEFORE the start of their session, as the program may run early. The organizers can not be held responsible if a performance was missed within this time frame. 5

7 3.5 Deelnemers wat nie betyds opdaag nie, mag gediskwalifiseer word. Participants arriving late may be disqualified. 3.6 Daar moet streng by die tydsbeperking van elke item gehou word. Tydsbeperking sluit op- en afstaptyd in. Participants must stick to the time limits for each item. Time limits include entry onto and exit off stage. 3.7 Waar dit weens onvermydelike omstandighede nodig is om deelnemers in die individuele items te vervang, moet die name voor die aanvang van die sessie aan die sameroepster oorhandig word. The necessary replacement of participants in individual items due to inevitable circumstances is to be reported to the convenor before the beginning of a session. 3.8 Onttrekkings moet so gou daarvan kennis geneem word aan die sameroepster deurgegee word. Die sameroepster moet ook verwittig word van enige onttrekkings op die dag van deelname voordat die spesifieke sessie begin. The convenor must be informed of withdrawals as soon as it is communicated by the participant. Also inform the convenor of any withdrawals on the day of participation before the start of the specific session. 3.9 Spesiale reëls word by elke afdeling aangedui. Specific rules are indicated at each catagory. 4. BEOORDELING / ADJUDICATION 4.1 Die beoordelaar se beslissing is finaal en geen deelnemer of belanghebbende persoon mag die beslissing probeer beïnvloed nie. The decision of the adjudicator will be final and no participant or any other person concerned will be allowed to influence the decision. 4.2 Indien die standaard sodanig is, sal punte of simbole soos volg toegeken word deur die beoordelaar: Pending the standards, marks and symbols will be allocated by the adjudicator as follows: 90% & hoër/ higher A++ 85% - 89% A+ 80% - 84% A 75% - 79% B+ 70% - 74% B 60% - 69% C 4.3 Die beste deelname per item mag deur die beoordelaar aangewys word volgens sy/haar eie diskresie. The best performance per item may be announced by the adjudicator according to his/her own judgement. 4.4 Indien die inskrywings in n item, na die beoordelaar se mening, van n te lae standaard is, mag hy/sy weier om enige toekenning te maak. If, according to the adjudicator, the standard of participation for a specific item is not sufficient, no allocations will be made. 4.5 n Beoordelaarsverslag word voltooi en kan direk na elke sessie afgehaal word. An adjudicator s report will be completed and can be collected at the end of each session. 4.6 As die deelnemer klaar is in n afdeling (bv. Musiek Instrumentaal), kan sy/haar sertifikate by die rekenaarstasie van daardie lokaal afgehaal word. After the participant has finished with a category (e.g. Music Instrumental), his/her certificates can be collected from the computer center of that venue. 6

8 4.7 Indien ekstra sertifikate verlang word sal n fooi van R20 per sertifikaat gehef word. If extra certificates are reqeusted, a fee of R20 per certificate will be charged. 5. PROGRAM / PROGRAMME 5.1 Die Eisteddfod program vir elke afdeling sal so spoedig moontlik na die sluitingsdatum vir inskrywings opgestel word en op die webtuiste beskikbaar gestel word. The Eisteddfod programme for all categories will be compiled as soon as possible after the closing date for entries and will be available on the website. 5.2 Deelnemers het soms spesiale omstandighede wat die datum en tyd van deelname kan beïnvloed. Stel in hierdie geval asb. die Voorsitter betyds per e-pos in kennis voordat die program opgestel word. Participants may have special circumstances that can influence the date and time of participation. In this case please inform the Chairperson via before the program is compiled. 5.3 Veranderinge aan die program sal slegs in uitsonderlike gevalle gemaak word. Almal kan ongelukkig nie vir persoonlike gerief geakkommodeer word nie. Only in exceptional cases will changes be made to the programme. Unfortunately, everybody cannot be accommodated for personal convenience. 6. SPESIALE TOEKENNINGS / SPECIAL AWARDS 6.1 Merietetoekennings vir uitstaande prestasie sal deur die beoordelaar(s) in elke afdeling toegeken word na afloop van die Eisteddfod. Sertifikate sal daarna uitgereik word. Merit awards will be awarded by the adjudicator(s) for outstanding performance in each category after the Eisteddfod. Certificates will be issued thereafter. 6.2 UNISA sal weereens n toekenning vir laer- en hoërskoolinskrywings in instrumentale musiek maak. UNISA will once again make an award for the best primary and secondary school performers in instrumental music. 6.3 By Harrismith Eisteddfod word daar Beoordelaarstoekennings uitgegee. Hierdie is NIE merietetoekennings nie en word uitgegee in daardie oomblik waar harte aangeraak word. At the Harrismith Eisteddfod Judges Awards are given out. It is NOT a merit award and is given in the spur of the moment when hearts are touched. 7. VERANDERINGE / CHANGES Waar omstandighede dit vereis, het die vereniging die reg om veranderinge in die reëls en program van die Eisteddfod aan te bring. Sulke wysigings sal betyds aan alle belanghebbendes bekend gemaak word. Indien u kontakbesonderhede deur die loop van die jaar sou verander, stel ons asb. so spoedig moontlik in kennis. If necessary, the society will have the right to make changes to the rules and/or programme of the Eisteddfod. Such amendments will be communicated timeously to the persons concerned. If your contact details should change during the course of the year, please notify us as soon as possible. 7

9 MUSIEK VOKAAL / MUSIC VOCAL BYKOMSTIGE REËLS EN RIGLYNE / ADDITIONAL RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Vokale sang begeleiding is verkieslik met klavier, maar deelnemers mag klankbaanbegeleiding gebruik. n Rekanaar sal voorsien word waar die klankbaanbegeleiding gespeel kan word deelnemers voorsien eie USB stokkie. Indien n klankbaanbegeleiding gebruik word, voeg n B agter die kode by u inskrywing, bv. V007B. The accompaniment for vocal music should preferably be piano, but participants may make use of backtracks. A computer will be supplied on which the backtrack can be played participants to supply own USB stick. If a backtrack is used, add a B on your entry after the code, e.g. V007B. 2. By alle items word eie keuse van werke toegelaat. 'n Kopie van die werk moet met aanmelding ingehandig word vir beskikbaarstelling aan die beoordelaar. Werke mag getransponeer word en n maksimum van twee verse van 'n lied mag gesing word. Own choice of works is allowed in all items. A copy of the work should be handed in at the start of the session for adjudication purposes. Works may be transposed and a maximum of two verses of a song may be presented. 3. Solo: Slegs een werk. Hoogstens 10 deelnemers per skool per item word toegelaat. Solo: Only one work. Maximum 10 participants per item per school are allowed. 4. Solo Program: Drie kontrasterende werke. Solo Programme: Three contrasting works. 5. Duet (tweestemmig), Trio (driestemmig) en Kwartet (vierstemmig). Slegs een werk. Duo (two-part singing), Trio (three-part singing) and Quartet (four-part singing). Only one work. 6. Klein Groepe: Informele sang met enige kombinasie van stemme. < 5 lede. Slegs een werk. Small Groups: Informal singing with any combination of voices. < 5 members. Only one work. 7. Groot Groepe: Informele sang met enige kombinasie van stemme lede. Slegs een werk. Large Groups: Informal singing with any combination of voices members. Only one work. 8. Solo Instrument & Stem: Deelnemers moet hulself begelei bv. kitaar of klavier. Slegs een werk. Solo Instrument & Voice: Participants must accompany themselves e.g. guitar or piano. Only one work. 9. Kitaargroepe: Sluit sang en begeleiding in. Minimum van 2, maksimum van 15 deelnemers. Twee werke. Guitar Groups: Includes voice and accompaniment. Minimum of 2, maximum of 15 participants. Two works. 10. Gesinsgroepe: Enige kombinasie van stemme en instrumente. n Minimum van 2 gesinslede. Twee werke. Family Groups: Any combination of voice and instrument. A minimum of 2 family members. Two works. 11. Koorsang en Sanggroepe: Begeleid of onbegeleid. >12 lede. Engelse, Afrikaanse of anderstalige liedere mag aangebied word. Die betekenis van anderstalige liedere moet verskaf word. n Program van twee of drie kontrasterende werke moet aangebied word, waarvan een werk beweging mag insluit. Geen kostuums. Maksimum tyd toegelaat: 10 minute vir laerskole en 15 minute vir hoërskole. Choirs and Vocal Groups: With accompaniment or A Capella. > 12 members. English, Afrikaans or another language may be presented. The meaning of songs in another language must be provided. A programme with two or three contrasting works must be presented. One work may include movement. No costumes. Maximum time allowed: 10 minutes for primary schools and 15 minutes for high schools. 8

12 MUSIEK INSTRUMENTAAL / MUSIC INSTRUMENTAL BYKOMSTIGE REËLS EN RIGLYNE / ADDITIONAL RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. By alle items geld eie keuse. Own choice applies to all items. 2. 'n Kopie van die bladmusiek moet vir die beoordelaar beskikbaar gestel word. A copy of the sheet music should be made available to the adjudicator. 3. Dieselfde werk mag nie vir twee verskillende items aangebied word nie. The same work may not be presented for two different items. 4. Die skoolgraad van die jongste deelnemer bepaal die kode waar verskillende ouderdomme saam deelneem. The school grade of the youngest participant determines the code where different ages participate together. 5. Klavierprogram: Twee konstrasterende werke. Piano Programme: Two contrasting works. 6. Klavierkonsert: Slegs een beweging. Piano Concert: Only one movement. 7. Stryk- en Blaasinstrumente: Deelnemers se uitvoering kan met of sonder begeleiding plaasvind meld die instrument op die inskrywingsvorm. Voorsien asb. u eie musiekstaander. String- and Wind Instruments: Participants may perform with or without accompaniment indicate the instrument on the entry form. Please provide your own music stand. 8. Ligte Musiek: Meld die instrument op die inskrywingsvorm. Voorsien asb. u eie musiekstaander. Ligth Music: Indicate the instrument on the entry form. Please provide your own music stand. 9. Gesinsmusiek: Verwys na slegs gesinslede, bv. ouer(s) en kind(ers), broer(s) en/of suster(s), grootouer(s) en kleinkind(ers). Meld die instrument(e) op die inskrywingsvorm. Voorsien asb. u eie musiekstaander. Family Music: Refers to only family members, e.g. parent(s) and child(ren), brother(s) and/or sister(s), grandparent(s) and grandchild(ren). Indicate the instrument (s) on the entry form. Please provide your own music stand. 10. Instrumentale Ensembles en Orkeste: Sluit enige kombinasie van 4 tot 15 instrumente in. In hierdie afdeling moet die program twee of drie kontrasterende werke insluit (± 10 minute). 'n Orkes kan verwys na 'n boere-orkes, mondfluitjieorkes, jeugorkes, orff-ensemble, ens. Voorsien asb. u eie musiekstaanders. Instrumental Ensembles and Orchestras: Include any combination of 4 to 15 instruments. In this section a programme should include two to three contrasting works (± 10 minutes). An orchestra can refer to a boere band, mouth organ band, youth orchestra, orff-ensemble, etc. Please provide your own music stands. 11

16 AFRIKAANS BYKOMSTIGE REËLS EN RIGLYNE 1. SPRAAK & DRAMA 1.1 Alle items is eie keuse, maar moet aan die standaard van die betrokke opvoedkundige vlak voldoen. 1.2 Let asseblief op die maksimum tydsbeperking vir elke item. Dit sluit die opstap en afstap in. Deelnemers sal gepenaliseer word indien hierdie tyd oorskry word. 1.3 Afskrifte van die voordragte wat aangebied word, moet vooraf by die beoordelaarstafel ingehandig word. Indien meer as een deelnemer dieselfde werk voordra in enige item word slegs een afskrif van die werk vereis. 1.4 Die getal inskrywings word beperk tot TIEN per item per skool of privaat. 1.5 Poësie: Formele vertolking deur middel van stem en gesig, sonder gebare. 1.6 Gedramatiseerde Poësie: Behels dat die geskrewe woord verlewendig word deur middel van gemotiveerde gebare en bewegings. Die ruimte moet sinvol benut word. 1.7 Prosa: 'n Vertelling met karakterisering. Vertolking deur middel van stem en gesig. 1.8 Gedramatiseerde Prosa: Die geskrewe woord word deur middel van die stem, gelaatsuitdrukking en gemotiveerde bewegings gedramatiseer. Dialoog moet sterk gekarakteriseer word. Die ruimte moet sinvol benut word. Gebruik die balans en diepte van die verhoog. Geen rekwisiete word toegelaat nie. 1.9 Bybelvoordrag: Voordrag uit die Bybel (enige Afrikaanse vertaling) Monoloog: 'n Gedeelte uit 'n toneelstuk, eenbedryf of 'n verwerkte gedeelte uit 'n prosaverhaal kan gebruik word. Dit is 'n alleenspraak en die deelnemer bly deurgaans dieselfde karakter. Deelnemer moet 'n persoon van eie geslag voorstel. Kostuum en rekwisiete moet verkieslik gebruik word Karakteruitbeelding: Die voorstelling deur een persoon wat deur middel van woord, gebaar, beweging en gesigspel verskeie karakters uitbeeld. 'n Samehangende gedeelte uit 'n toneelstuk of 'n verwerking uit 'n prosawerk kan gebruik word. Let wel: slegs dialoog Voordragkonsertprogram: 'n Deelnemer moet 'n program van goeie verskeidenheid en veelsydigheid aanbied. Hierdie program moet gebalanseerd wees en die klem moet op verskeidenheid, deurlopende tema en wisseling in aanbieding val. Die program kan bv. soos volg saamgestel word: liriese gedig, beskrywende prosa, dramatiese monoloog of karakteruitbeelding en 'n komiese item (poësie, prosa, drama) Onvoorbereide Lees: Leesmateriaal sal deur die beoordelaar verskaf word. Deelnemers word na 'n aparte lokaal geneem, terwyl die eerste deelnemer optree sal die volgende deelnemer 'n geleentheid kry om sy leesstuk voor te berei. Deelnemers sal nie toegelaat word om die lokaal voor of na hul optrede te verlaat nie. Slegs leerders met goeie leesvaardighede moet ingeskryf word vir die onvoorbereide lees. Leerders moet asseblief hulle skooluniform dra Samespraak: Die dramatiese of komiese voorstelling deur 2-5 persone. 'n Gedeelte uit 'n toneelstuk of 'n verwerking uit 'n prosaverhaal kan gebruik word. 15

17 1.15 Spreekkoor: Slegs een gedig mag voorgedra word en geen gebarespel word toegelaat nie Gedramatiseerde Spreekkoor: Een gedig kan gedramatiseerd aangebied word. Beweging, kostumering, dekor en grimering, asook bykomende effekte soos beligting, byklanke, musiek, ens. is opsioneel en sal nie bydra tot die finale simbool wat toegeken word nie. Deelnemers sorg vir eie toneel-benodighede. Gebruik verhoogbeplanning en vlakke (beweging) nie net gebare nie. Minimum 11, maksimum 25 lede Poësieprogram: Die werke van 'n digter word deur 'n groep, bestaande uit hoogstens 10 deelnemers, opgevoer. Elke deelnemer moet naastenby dieselfde gewig in die opvoering dra. OF werk met 'n sentrale tema kan opgevoer word deur 'n groep leerlinge Eenbedryf: Dit moet binne die begripsvermoë en verwysingsraamwerk van die deelnemers val. Die maksimum speeltyd is 45 minute. Maksimum van 5 minute word vir die opstel en inkleding van die dekor toegelaat, en 5 minute vir die verwydering daarvan. Die aantal deelnemers is onbeperk. Die stuk wat aangebied word, moet suiwer toneelwerk wees. Geen sangspeletjies, operette, ens. word aanvaar nie. Elke produksie sorg vir 'n eie verhoogspan onder die jurisdiksie van die verhoogbestuurder. 'n Afskrif van die verhoogbestuurder se teks moet op aanvraag aan die beoordelaars beskikbaar gestel word. Deelnemers sorg vir eie dekor en toneelbenodighede. Die gebruik van beligting, dekor en inkleding dra nie direk by tot die simbool wat deur die beoordelaars toegeken word nie. 'n Kleedrepetisie kan met die organiseerders gereël word. Geen plagiaat mag gepleeg word nie en geen werk mag vertaal word nie. 2.7 Alle skryfstukke moet deur n onderwyser of tuisonderrig tutor onderteken word om te bevestig dat dit wel die deelnemer se eie werk is. SPEECH & DRAMA 1.1 Participants may select own poems, but the standard must be consistent with that of the poems prescribed for the relevant age groups. 1.2 Please note the maximum time stipulated for each item; this will be strictly adhered to during adjudication. It includes entry and exit. Participants will be penalised if exceeding the maximum time. 1.3 Copies of all works to be presented to the adjudicator's table on the day of the event. Should more than one participant present the same work in any particular item, only one copy of the relevant work is required. 1.4 Entries are limited to TEN entries per item per school / private. 1.5 Poetry: Formal interpretation by making use of vocal and facial expression only. No gestures. 1.6 Dramatised Poetry: The written word is dramatised using motivated gestures and movement. Poems must be standardized for each school grade. 1.7 Prose: A narrative with characterisation. No gestures. 1.8 Dramatised Prose: The written word is dramatized using motivated gestures and movement. Dialogue must be strongly characterised. 1.9 Scriptural Recital: The recital of a phrase from the Holy Bible (any version). Please note the maximum time as stated for each grade Monologue: A portion of a play, a one-act or an adapted portion from a prose story. The participant remains the same character throughout and must represent a person of the same sex. Only dialogue Mime: Individual Prepared. Black mime costume, white face make-up and gloves are optional. No jewellery. Participants will be judged on their use of space and movement. No speech or props may be used. The choice of work presented in this item is not allowed to take place in the Afrikaans section. The topic of your presentation must be submitted to the adjudicator s table table at the time of performance. Music may be used Unprepared Reading: Literature will be provided by the adjudicator. Participants will be taken to a venue. While the first participant is performing the next participant will prepare his piece of sight reading. Participants will not be allowed to enter the venue before performance or leave the venue after performance. Only learners with good reading skills should be entered. 21 1.15 Dramatic Choral Verse: Dramatically presented. Movement is essential, but costumes, décor, sound effects, music, lighting etc are optional. Maximum number of participants: Poetry Programme: 3-7 participants. The participants must perform the works of one poet, either a programme of variety and versatility or, alternatively, a continuous theme. Each participant should have more or less an equal part and take part in all sections of the programme One-act Play: Must be within the comprehension and reference level of the participants. The maximum play-time of 45 minutes must not be exceeded. A maximum of 5 minutes will be allowed for setting up décor and 5 minutes for the removal thereof. The play presented must be pure drama; no musical, operetta etc. The number of participants is unlimited. The participants should provide their own requisites and décor. Each production must provide its own stage team under control of the production stage manager. A copy of the stage manager s text must subsequently be made available to the adjudicator, if requested. Lighting facilities are not available and the use of lighting and décor will not contribute to the symbol awarded by the adjudicator. A dress rehearsal can be arranged with the secretary. 24 KUNS EN FOTOGRAFIE / ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY BYKOMSTIGE REËLS EN RIGLYNE / ADDITIONAL RULES AND GUIDELINES 1. Kunswerke mag nie kleiner as 300 X 500 mm wees nie (A3 papier grootte). Art work should not be smaller than 300 X 500 mm (A3 paper size). 2. Kunswerke moet behoorlik op swart karton gemonteer word, 'n liniaal-breedte aan die kante groter as die kunswerk. Artwork should be mounted on black board, which should be a ruler width larger than the art work itself all around. 3. Geen kunswerke mag opgerol of gevou wees nie en pastel en houtskoolwerke moet gefikseer wees. Artwork should not be rolled up or folded and pastel and charcoal works should be fixed. 4. Die deelnemer se naam, skoolgraad en skool moet duidelik voor op die kunswerk of foto aangebring word. Die onderstaande voorbeeld kan gebruik word: The participant's name, school grade and school must clearly be indicated on the front of the artwork or photo. 25 11. Die onderwyser moet die kind bewus maak van verskeidenheid kleur, tekstuur, lyn, vorm, ens. wat hulle kan gebruik. Leerders moet ook eksperimenteer met unieke kunsstyle soos pointilisme, juxsta-plasing, ongewone oopgpunte, optiese illusies, kunstige collage ens. The teacher must make the child aware of the variety of colour, texture, line, form etc. that can be used. Learners should experiment with unique art styles such as pointilism, juxtaposing, unusual viewpoints, optical illusions, artistic collage ect. 12. Die kunswerke moet netjies wees. Elke deelemer mag een kunswerk en/of foto per tema inskryf. - Dus mag voorskool tot Gr 9 'n maksimum van twee kunswerke inskryf en/of twee foto s (een volgens tema en een eie keuse). - Gr mag 'n maksimum van vier kunswerke inskryf en/of vier foto s (een elk volgens die drie temas en een eie keuse). Each participant may enter one artwork and/or photo per theme. - So pre-school to Gr 9 may enter a maximum of two artworks and/or two photos (one according to the theme and one own choice). - Gr may enter a maximum of four artworks and/or four photos (one each according to the three themes and one own choice). 14. Twee-dimensionele Kuns: Potlood, pastelle, olieverf, waterverf, houtskool, collage, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse. Two-dimensional Art: Pencil, pastel, oil paint, water colour, charcoal, collage etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice. 15. Beeldhou: Enige medium soos papier, papierpap, seep, gips, draad, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse. Sculpture: Any materials e.g. paper, paper mache, soap, plaster of paris, wire etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice. 16. Handwerk: Maak n artikel. Enige medium, bv. naaldwerk, batik, loodglaswerk, kwiltwerk, mosaïek, ens. volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse. Handwork: Make an article. Any medium, e.g. needlecraft, batick, stained glass, quilting, mosaic, etc. according to prescribed themes and/or own choice. 17. Pottebakkerswerk: Tema volgens graad en/of eie keuse. Pottery: Theme according to grade and/or own choice. 18. Groepsprojek: Enige kombinasie van twee-dimensioneel, beeldhou, handwerk of pottebakkerswerk volgens voorgeskrewe temas en/of eie keuse. Group Project: Any combination of two-dimensional, sculpture, hand work or pottery according to prescribed themes and/or own choice. 19. Ope Afdeling: Slegs vir volwasse deelnemers buite skoolverband. Deelnemers word beoordeel volgens medium en die standaard van hul kunswerk. Hul ouderdom word glad nie in aanmerking geneem nie. Werke kan in enige medium en volgens enige tema gemaak word. Open Section: Only for adult participants out of school. Participants will be judged according to the medium and the standard of their art work. The individual s age will not be taken into consideration at all. Works can be done in any medium and according to any theme. 24
