Transfer students may receive transfer credit for Studio courses if they successfully audition beyond Studio I. See Section 7.e.2. Studio Audition Procedure, p. 194 or for further details. 3. The B.Mus. with a major in Digital Audio Arts accepts applications for Fall admission only. Enrolment in the Digital Audio Arts major is limited and admission is competitive; selections are made based on the following: a. Academic proficiency, as demonstrated by grade achievement; b. Submission of a portfolio. Details are given below: Rationale: The Bachelor of Music requires eight studio courses and the BMus/BEd requires six. Currently students can be admitted to these programs without also being admitted to Studio, yet then must add a semester to their program for every one in which they are not in Studio. A few students are never admitted to Studio and therefore cannot complete their program of choice. In some cases students have the impression they may be admitted to studio if spaces become available but there is no guarantee that this will happen. The Department of Music proposes to require BMus and pre-bmus/bed to successfully audition as a requirement for admission to these programs in order to be clear about what is required and expected in the programs.
