2 BUFA & SONS Bufa means to blow in Catalan and Sons means sounds. This gives us a slight idea of what we can expect from these artists in their non conventional show. Bufa & Sons give us the chance to explore our environment by recycling objects of our daily use and give them a new meaning. We never would think that certain objects could make a sound building on beautiful melodies created by blowing through a broom, a crutch, a ladder, a watering can, a chair, a brick, a macaroni They offer us a concert where they show us that music is hidden behind whatever we desire. The artists: Xavi Lozano: dailyofonic wind section (all the things that we see every day but don t hear every day) Guillem Aguilar: bass, string instruments, percussio and mochelo (a broom with three strings) Marc Vila: strange drum set (never better said!), kora, kalimba TUBES OF THE WORLD The whole idea started with the concert-workshop flutes of the world which was accepted with great success and has been performed in many venues, schools, cultural canters and clubs. From this moment on tubes of the world was created and is according to the former show concept an evolution of itself. In the beginning with flutes of the world the issue was to show all kinds of flutes and blow-instruments from around the world. Little by little they introduced different objects like plastic tubes, a watering can, bricks That way tubes of the world was created and became a very innovative show concept. What is a flute? It s a tube with a musical degree! We don t want to exaggerate and call a tube a flute nor call a flute a tube. In reality in a lot of languages it actually means the same. BUFA & SONS TUBES OF THE WORLD Blowing into a tube like canes, feathers and femurs is an ancient thing. But to blow into pens or brooms is modern! We have always been and are surrounded by tubes. Everywhere we look we can find flutes. We ourselves are tubes. All musical instruments used for the liberation of emotions are magical. They transform air into breath, vibrations into more vibrations and silence into sound. In Tubes of the World the objects go through two steps of transformation: 1. Objects into instruments (not always and necessarily a synonymous) and 2. Sound into music (which is basically the same but varies occasionally)

You will experiment the transformation by yourself. Music is everywhere you look and everywhere you see you will start to hear it. Music is in us and around us. This concert-workshop is spiced up with humorous elements and will surely satisfy your demand. A simple but effective stage set-up including chairs, a suitcase and the custom made drum set capture your attention. A show made to suite all ages. XAVI LOZANO (Badalona 1969) He has received an education in classical music and his musical environment has been always in touch with traditional folklore.

Since then he has experimented with a lot of different music styles like fusion, jazz, experimental, folk, etc As a brass and wind specialist he has played and performed with great and renowned artists like: Lluís Llach, Mªdel Mar Bonet, Lídia Pujol, Miquel Gil, Eliseo Parra, Jorge Drexler, C.E.Dharma, Gerard Quintana, Xavi Maristany, Carles Santos, Tactequeté, Xirriquiteula Teatre, Cabo San Roque, Carles Cases, Alfons Vilallonga, Misirli Ahmed, Amine & Hamsa, Cobla Sant Jordi-Ciutat de Barcelona, La Fura dels Baus, Marc Egea,Toni Xuclà, Ginesa Ortega, TNC, Coetus, Orquestra Mediterrània de Sao Paulo, La Shica,... He has been the host and advisor of an educational program for children on TV called L atrapasons in channel K3 in Catalunya being broadcasted internationally. Right now he is doing shows and workshops at the same time as well as pedagogical programs for children like how to make sounds and music out of recycled objects. He is member of FLADEM (Latin-American forum for musical education). Has done interviews on TV with Buenafuente, El Hormiguero. Xavi is a great communicator

GUILLEM AGUILAR (Tiana 1975) He studies electric bass at the Conservatorio Professional de Música de Badalona, as well as Escuela Municipal de Badalona (E.M.B),Taller de Músicos de Barcelona and at the Esmuc.

5 GUILLEM AGUILAR (Tiana 1975) He studies electric bass at the Conservatorio Professional de Música de Badalona, as well as Escuela Municipal de Badalona (E.M.B),Taller de Músicos de Barcelona and at the Esmuc. He has a career in jazz y modern music. His interest in different music styles has led him to play jazz, rock, folk, flamenco as well as how to play different string instruments like sentir, mandola, double bass or even mochelo. Right now he works with the most outstanding projects of world music like Tactequeté, Misirli Ahmed The Search, Xampola Trip Experiment, Amine and Hamza, Toni Xucla, Eliseo Parra, Albert Fibla, Bufa & Sons, Almasala,...as well as Trilok Gurtu, Raúl Rodriguez, Pedro Javier Gonzales among others. He has dedicated himself to composing music for theatre, circus and performance artists like Toc Mut, Xirriquiteula Teatre, Danzadas, La Industrial Teatrera, Ibérica De Danza,... Discography: He has played on recordings of the following artists: Eliseo Parra, Eduard Iniesta, Izel, Zoobazar, Tactequeté, Garam Masala, Nacho Ugarte, Xavier Maristany, Albert Fibla, Joan Isaac, Martí Serra amb Tipus de Interés, Misirli Ahmed, Jacaranda, Mondo, Jaime Basulto, Cheika, Sol de Nit, Pau Riba, Toc Mut, Möondo, Big Band de Badalona, La Industrial Teatrera, Elisha, La Shica i Almasala.

6 MARC VILA (Barcelona 1974) He is a solid member of the band Tactequeté, Els Parents d en Bufa, Coetus, Xampola Trip Experiment. He is the founder and creator of a musical and poetic project called Toc Mut. He has done collaborations with Xavier Maristany like Oblida el teu nom, all based on drumming against percussions made out of glass designed by Mr. Maristany himself. Together with Tactequeté he has collaborated with Eliseo Parra, Kepa Junkera i la Fura dels Baus and has performed individually with Dani Nel lo, Los Rebeldes, Pau Riba i De Mortimers among others. Right now he is playing in projects like Möondo, Gerard Quintana, Ton Rulló i la Pgbanda and Mariona Sagarra.
