4 Performers Emily Fields is a freshman biology major and music minor, from Spokane. When not playing or studying, she enjoys swing and Irish dancing and being outside. Piper Foulon is a senior graduating with a double degree in musical arts and history in the spring. Her specific area of study is Russian music history, and she plans to travel to Russia following graduation. When she is not studying, Piper enjoys writing songs about trench warfare and love, viewing portraits of classic authors, and dancing in her pajamas. Hannah Gorham is a first year music education major and anthropology minor from Edmonds. She currently studies with Korine Fujiwara and plays with the PLUSO. She has also been found playing for pit orchestras in Seattle and Edmonds as well as here at PLU. When not playing music, Hannah is probably listening to NPR and drinking coffee. Jordan Hamilton is a junior in the music education program with an orchestral emphasis. She plays bass in the University Symphony Orchestra, and has also been a member of the University Wind Ensemble. Laura Hillis is a junior anthropology and global studies major from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. She has played in the Regina Symphony Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Canada, and represented Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Music Festival. She is looking forward to playing Korngold s Violin Concerto with PLUSO this coming May. Soren Iverson is a sophomore at Pacific Lutheran University, currently pursuing a BFA in painting. When he's not playing the cello, Soren enjoys violent movies, drawing surrealist dreamscapes, and long walks on the beach. Alex Justice is a sophomore music education major who is currently taking String Lab II. Alex's primary instrument is French horn which he plays in the University Symphony Orchestra. He has also spent this year singing in University Chorale. Jonathan Lee is a transfer student in his first year at Pacific Lutheran University majoring in biology. In addition to studying the violin privately, he is a member of the University Symphony Orchestra. Sarah Martin is a junior instrumental music education and German double major. She plays horn in the Wind Ensemble and woodwind quintet, as well as sings in the Chamber Singers. She has enjoyed playing percussion in the concert band this year and learning the cello and violin in string lab. When not in a practice room, Sarah enjoys hiking and anything else outdoors. Adam Masucci is a music education major at PLU and hopes to become a high school orchestra teacher. Tomick Necessary is a freshman music education major with a concentration in orchestra and band. He performs in both the University Symphony Orchestra and the PLU Wind Ensemble. This is his seventh year playing bass. After college his goal is to pursue higher education and eventually conduct a college level ensemble. Dylan Nehrenberg is a senior violinist at PLU and has studied piano, voice, and music theory. He has played with many orchestras, including the All-State Symphony Orchestra, Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Thalia Symphony, and the Marrowstone Festival Orchestra.

5 Erika Query is a first year student from Spanaway. This is her ninth year on the violin and her first full year of private instruction. Erika also participates in the University Symphony Orchestra where she plays the violin. Previous taught by PLU alum Hans Nelson, she is now pursuing music education with a concentration in orchestra. Sophie Robinson is a first year student at PLU studying viola performance with professor Betty Agent and previously with Maria Bokor. She has enjoyed many performance opportunities with the Tacoma Youth Symphony, playing at weddings and local events over the past nine years. Rachel Ross is a sophomore music education major with a secondary choral concentration. She has a background in violin, piano, and semi-professional opera (yes really). She dropped brass lab because of an overwhelming aversion to "condensation. She passionately loves to play mallet percussion and when she tried to write choral music, she discovered that her poetry stinks. The end. Kate Schneider is from Pullman. Music has been a part of her life in one way or another since she can remember, with her mom being a professional musician. She s been playing violin for twelve years and piano for fourteen years, and is now pursuing a BMA degree. Kaitlynn Turner is a sophomore from Torrance, California majoring in music education. In the past she has enjoyed performing with South Bay Youth Orchestra, South Bay Youth Chamber Orchestra, Jake Shimabukuro s backing orchestra, Keali i Reichel s backing orchestra, Ars Nova Sinfonia, Wavelength String Quartet, El Camino College Symphony, Tacoma Community College Orchestra. At PLU, besides the Cello Choir, she is a member of the University Symphony Orchestra. Anita Zeng is a freshman from China who has been playing the violin for more than 13 years. She hasn t declared her major yet but believes she will major in composition. She served as the violinist of a church band when she lived in China.
