3 (*) GIACINTO CALDERARA Born in Casale Monferrato in 1729, Calderara was the Maestro di Cappella of the St. Mary Cathedral in Asti since 1749 to his death, in He was mostly a sacred music composer, all recovered in the Capitular Archive of the Asti s Cathedral, and unedited, but he also was an appreciated opera composer: his most popular title was Ricimero, that had a successful debut in the Teatro Regio of Turin. Armoniosa found in the Archive this unedited score titled Confitebor a due voci, and rebuilt the parts for our ensemble. The result is a beautiful and fresh Italian style music, with wonderful melodic contents and powerful cadenzas. The solo parts are technically elegant and very refined, and need fluent and full voices Hege and Hubert can spring up with their technique all the power of this wonderful composition. We offer the unique possibility to listen to an important discovery in the Italian Sacred Music panorama! «The role of the infamous Kabanicha could have been written for Hege Høisæter.» Dagsavisen, 2015 HEGE HØISÆTER mezzo-soprano Born and raised in Bergen, Norway, Hege Høisæter studied at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and at The Norwegian Opera Academy. Ms Høisæter joined the Norwegian Opera & Ballet in 2002, where her primary roles have included: Sextus (La clemenza di Tito, Mozart), Carmen, Cornelia ( Giulio Caesare, Händel), Auntie (Peter Grimes, Britten), Gräfin Geschwitz (Lulu, Berg), Ottavia (Poppea, Monteverdi), Kabanicha (Katya Kabanovà, Janàcek), Waltraute (Götterdämmerung, Wagner), Jocasta (Oedipus Rex, Stravinsky), and Mescalina ( Le Grand Macabre, Ligeti). In addition Ms Høisæter has led the casts of numerous world premieres, by distinguished composers such as Synne Skouen, Gisle Kverndokk, Glenn-Erik Haugland, Ole-Henrik Moe and Rolf Wallin. She has been working closely with and performed under conductors such as Rinaldo Alessandrini, John Fiore and Alessandro de Marchi, and with orchestras including The Bergen Philharmonic, The Orchestra of the Norwegian Opera & Ballet, Oslo Sinfonietta, The Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra and The Royal Norwegian Marine Band. She sang Suzuki (Madama Butterfly, Puccini) at The Oscarsborg Opera in In addition she has been collaborating regularly with several distinguished instrumentalists in a series of creative chamber settings, exploring the Lied and Art Song repertoire extensively.

4 Her singing has on numerous occasions been broadcast on national and international TV and radio. Since 2009 she has been a frequent featured guest at The Casa dei Mezzo Chamber Music Festival, Makrigialos, Crete. M s H ø i s æ t e r r e c e i v e d wonderful reviews for her leading role as Edith in a world premiere of Synne Skouen s Ballerina at The Norwegian Opera and Ballet, September After having been a member of the soloist roster there for 14 years, her career as a fullt i m e f r e e l a n c e r i s n o w escalating. Already in September 2018 she will return to the The Norwegian Opera & Ballet as The Countess in Pique Dame (Tchaikovskij). She will be performing in ALL of the four Ring Cycle Operas at the Gothenburg Opera ; in the roles of Erda (both), a Valkyrie and the 1st Norne. Among other future plans is Maddalena (Rigoletto, Verdi) for The Kristiansund Opera in 2019, and a tailor-made Wagnerian opera project with the Arctic Philharmonic in A LAWO Classics solo CD-recording consisting of Norwegian contemporary music, including several works written especially for Ms Høisæter, is scheduled for release in Ms Høisæter will also be joining the greatly successful Italian baroque ensemble Armoniosa on a CD recording in 2019.

5 HUBERT WILD counter-tenor Hubert Wild was born in Karlsruhe, Germany. He studied at the Music School of Cologne/ Aachen under Professor Rudolf Bautz and then at the Hochschule der Kunst in Berlin under Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. Having finished his studies he passed his concert exams with distinction and then attended masterclasses by Regina Resnik, Inge Borkh, Felicity Lott, Graham Johnson, Rudolf Piernay and Dietrich Fischer- Dieskau. Hubert enjoyed fixed employment at the Theatre Vorpommern in Stralsund/Greifswald and made appearences as guest performer at various theatres and opera houses in Germany (among others in Essen, Aachen, Hamburg, Bielefeld, Lübeck, Braunschweig, Heidelberg) in the Netherlands (Maastricht) as well as in Italy (Treviso, Rovigo, Trento) where he won the Toti dal Monte Competition. As a result he went on to sing in the opera Faust by Ch. Gounod in the theatres of Treviso, Rovigo and Trento under the musical direction of maestro Peter Maag. Hubert was awarded at the International Robert Schumann Singing Competition in Zwickau, and twice won the International Singing Competition of the "Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg" where he also celebrated great success in his role as "Figaro" in Mozart's "Nozze di Figaro". He sang the lead role of Orpheus in Jacopo Peri's Euridice in Vienna, in Richard Strauss' Daphne at the Strauss Music Festival in Garmisch under the musical direction of Pinchas Steinberg, and made a guest appearances in Eugene Onegin as the title role as well as Angelotti in Tosca in the Summer Music Festival at Wernigerode Palace. As part of the music festival "Cantiere Internazionale d'arte" in Montepulciano, Italy, Hubert appeared in the role of "Guiglielmo" in Mozart's "Cosi fan Tutte" under Enrique Mazola, and was protagonist at the festival "Rheinsberger Opernwerkstatt" of contemporary music. Being known by several composers, many parts were written especially for him, in 2005 "Das Jahr der Freiwilligen" in Nürnberg, "Mozart Müzik" at the RadialsystemV in Berlin, "Heinrich Heine in "Idilia" (Mark Moebius) for the festival singing summer of the Staatstheater Mainz, "Mooshammeroper" in Berlin and München, and "Pinienkerne wachsen nicht in Tüten" (Mark Moebius) at Theater Heidelberg In 2007 he appeared as "Adolf Woelfli" in Peer Nørgård's "Der göttliche Tivoli" at the Theater Lübeck with such an success that he was immediately invited to create that part at the Oper Bern, Switzerland in The production was recorded for CD.

6 At the Bielefeld opera house he created in June/July 2009 another part ("Helge" in "Helges Leben") that was especially written for him by the composers Carola Obermüller and Mark Moebius. Also in the season 2010/11 he sang at Staatstheater Cottbus, several parts at the Salzburger Landestheater and made his opera debut at Berliner Staatsoper where he sang Mahler's "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen. As a lied and concert singer he has already made appearences at numerous festivals, giving solo recitals, among others, at the Mecklenburg festival, at the Schubertiade Tegernsee, at the Robert Schumann festival in Zwickau and at the Richard Strauss festival in Garmisch. As soloist in the great oratorio repertoires (Brahms Requiem, Handel's Messiah, J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio) he has appeared in various famous concert halls in Germany including the Berliner Philharmonie and Berliner Konzerthaus as well as performing in Austria, France, Finland, Norway, Spain and Israel. Hubert recently sang in "Anna Karenina" in Bremen (Wronski) and "Falsacappa", and the leading part in Offenbach's "Les Brigands", directed by Herbert Fritsch, with whom Hubert now frequently works. Hubert has also performed at Volksbühne Berlin (u.a. "Prinz Sternschnuppe" in "Frau Luna"). This was so successful that he has since had many offers from acting directors. In 2015 he is appearing at Burgtheater, Vienna, and then at Wiener Festwochen and at Ruhrtriennale with "Orfeo" under the direction of Susanne Kennedy. Future appearances will include "Anna Karenina" at Bremen and "Surrogate Cities" from Heiner Goebbels, and with the Zürich Opera in "King Arthur" and again in Leipzig in a new piece called "Germans are different". Hubert will also be the musical director at Leipzig during the March/April 2016 season. ARMONIOSA Congratulations! The ensemble comes across with a really nice character: good sound, good rhythm, good intonation and, most important, a real humanity. Trevor Pinnock Armoniosa was founded in 2012 after the artistic and cultural activities experienced within the Diocesan Institute for Liturgy and Music of the Diocese of Asti, thanks to the ideas of Francesco and Stefano Cerrato, Marco Demaria, Daniele Ferretti and Michele Barchi. The ensemble aims to be an excellence in the international panorama, and adopts a rigorous method of study and work concerning style and interpretation. The ensemble chose to use original period instruments in order to have the best sound result and apply to a veritable interpretation.

7 Armoniosa was invited by Reinhard Goebel for a collaboration and a superior course in the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), during the Academic Year 2013/2014. In September 2016 Trevor Pinnock worked with Armoniosa on the Händel, Concerti Grossi op.6 during a special Masterclass in Asti. These important meetings are a true luggage for the artistic growing of the Ensemble. Armoniosa is regularly invited by the best Festivals in Europe, and played concerts for the Mainzer Musik Sommer in Mainz (Germany, 2016), the Baltic Philharmonia Season in Gdansk (Poland, 2016), the Alte Musik live Festival in Berlin (Germany, 2017), the Thüringer Bachwochen in Eisenach (Germany, 2017), the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alte Musik in Innsbruck (Austria, 2017), the Casa dei Mezzo Festival in Makrigyalos (Greece, 2017), the Alba International Festival in Alba (Italy, 2016 and 2017), the Grandezze&Meraviglie Festival in Modena (Italy, 2015 and 2017). La Stravaganza op.4 by Antonio Vivaldi (2015), first international release by Armoniosa and the German label MDG had a dazzling debut and wonderful reviews from the most important international press, like Gramophone (UK), Fanfare Magazine (USA), Klassik.com (D). Armoniosa then released the Six TrioSonatas for violin, violoncello and continuo by Giovanni Benedetto Platti (2016), with successful reviews around Europe. Armoniosa is releasing in Autumn 2017 the Six Sonatas op.3 for violoncello and continuo by Carlo Graziani with the English label Rubicon Classics. Since 2015 Armoniosa is represented by Gunnar Management (UK) and U.H.M.M. (Berlin).
