Constant displaying of still pitures an ause ghosting of LED sreen, whih will affet image quality. To redue risk of this effet, please follow below reommendations: Avoid displaying the same TV hannel for long periods. Always try to display any image on full sreen, use TV set piture format menu for best possible math. Redue brightness and ontrast values to minimum required to ahieve desired piture quality, exeeded values may speed up the burnout proess. Frequently use all TV features designed to redue image retention and sreen burnout, refer to proper user manual setion for details. When pressing TV ontroller, the funtion menu sreen appears. Selet the MENU(m) and press it more than 5 seonds using the ontroller. The Store Demo mode is set. Canel the Store Demo by seleting Soure List(s) and pressing it more than 5 seonds. Press the ontroller when the power is on, then the funtion menu sreen appears. If you press it again, the funtion menu sreen disappears. Auto Plug & Play Set the Clok Mode. Clok Mode Start U Move E Enter m Skip Setting the Clok Mode : Auto E Enter m Skip Set the Clok Mode automatially or manually. If you selet the Auto, set the DST(Daylight Saving Time). On the DST sreen, press ENTERE, then selet whether to turn DST (Daylight Savings Time) on or off. Selet the time zone where you live. The Media Play main sreen appears. Selets the MENU(m) by moving the ontroller in the funtion menu sreen. The OSD(On Sreen Display) of your TV s feature appears. Selets the Soure List (s) by moving the ontroller in the funtion menu sreen. The Soure List sreen appears. Selets the Power Off (P) to turn the TV off by moving the ontroller in the funtion menu sreen. Exits the menu when pressing the ontroller more than 1 seond. 3 Connetions y For better piture and audio quality, onnet to a digital devie using an HDMI able. y The piture may not display normally (if at all) or the audio may not work if an external devie that uses an older version of HDMI mode is onneted to the TV. Press the SOURCE button. 2. Selet a desired external input soure. TV / AV / Component / HDMI1/DVI / HDMI2 You an only hoose external devies that are onneted to the TV. In the Soure List, onneted inputs will be highlighted. How to use Edit Name Edit Name lets you assoiate a devie name to an input soure. To aess Edit Name, press the TOOLS button in Soure List. When onneting a PC to the HDMI IN 1(DVI) port with HDMI able, you should set the TV to PC mode under Edit Name. When onneting a PC to the HDMI IN 1(DVI) port with HDMI to DVI able, you should set the TV to DVI PC mode under Edit Name. When onneting an AV devies to the HDMI IN 1(DVI) port with HDMI to DVI able, you should set the TV to DVI mode under Edit Name. 4 Remote Control This remote ontrol has Braille points on the Power, Channel, and Volume buttons and an be used by visually impaired persons. Displays and selets the available video soures. Turns the TV on and off. Press to diretly aess to hannels. Turns the remote ontrol light on or off. When on, the buttons beome illuminated for a moment when pressed. (Using the remote ontrol with this button set to On will redue the battery usage time.) Press to selet additional hannels (digital) being broadasted by the same station. For example, to selet hannel 54-3, press 54, then press - and 3. Returns to the previous hannel. Cuts off the sound temporarily. Adjusts the volume. Changes hannels. 5 Channel Menu Seeing Channels Channel List Add, delete or set Favorite hannels and use the program guide for digital broadasts. Selet a hannel in the All Channels, Added Channels, Favorite or Programmed sreen by pressing the / buttons, and pressing the ENTERE button. Then you an wath the seleted hannel. Using the remote ontrol buttons with the Channel List xgreen (Zoom): Enlarges or shrinks a hannel number. x Yellow (Selet): Selets multiple hannel lists. Selet desired hannels and press the Yellow button to set all the seleted hannels at the same time. The mark appears to the left of the seleted hannels. xt (Tools): Displays the Channel List option menu. (The Options menus may differ depending on the situation.) Memorizing hannels Antenna (Air / Cable) t Before your television an begin memorizing the available hannels, you must speify the type of signal soure that is onneted to the TV (i.e. an Air or a Cable system). How to Stop Auto Programming 1. Press the ENTERE button. 2. A message will ask Stop Auto Program? Selet Yes by pressing the or button. 3. Press the ENTERE button. Other Features Clear Srambled Channel This funtion filters out srambled hannels after Auto Program is ompleted. This proess may take up to 20~30 minutes. Press the ENTERE button to stop the Clear Srambled Channel. This funtion is only available in Cable mode. Channel List Channel List Option Menu t Set eah hannel using the Channel List menu options. Option menu items may differ depending on the hannel status. Add / Delete: Delete or add a hannel to display the hannels you want. All deleted hannels will be shown on the All Channels menu. A gray-olored hannel indiates the hannel has been deleted. The Add menu only appears for deleted hannels. Delete a hannel from the Added Channels or Favorite menu in the same manner. Add to Favorite / Delete from Favorite t: Set hannels you wath frequently as Favorites. Timer Viewing: You an set a desired hannel to be displayed automatially at the set time; even when you are wathing another hannel. Set the urrent time first to use this funtion. Only memorized hannels an be reserved. Reserved programs will be displayed in the Programmed menu. When a digital hannel is seleted, press the (Next Program) button to view the digital program. If you selet the ENTERE(Shedule) button on the next program, you an set Timer Viewing diretly. Channel Name Edit (analog hannels only): Assign your own hannel name. Selet All: Selet all the hannels in the hannel list. Deselet All: Deselet all the seleted hannels. You an only selet Deselet All when one or more hannels are seleted. Auto Program: Sans for a hannel automatially and stores in the TV. Auto Program When seleting the Cable TV system: Selets the able Programmed system. 6 Channel Mode Change the hannel mode diretly between Added Channels and Favorite Channels. The Favorite Channels is enabled only when you set Add to Favorite. Fine Tune (analog hannels only) If the reeption is lear, you do not have to fine tune the hannel, as this is done automatially during the searh and store operation. If the signal is weak or distorted, fine tune the hannel manually. Fine tuned hannels that have been saved are marked with an asterisk * on the right-hand side of the hannel number in the hannel banner. To reset the fine-tuning, selet Reset. Piture Menu Mode t Selet your preferred piture type. When onneting a PC, you an only selet Entertain and Standard. Dynami: Suitable for a bright room. Standard: Suitable for a normal environment. Movie: Suitable for wathing movies in a dark room. Entertain: Suitable for wathing movies and games. Only available when onneting a PC. Baklight / Contrast / Brightness / Sharpness / Color / Tint (G/R) Your television has several setting options for piture quality ontrol. When onneting a PC, you an only make hanges to Baklight, Contrast, Brightness and Sharpness Advaned Settings (available in Standard / Movie mode) Compared to previous models, new Samsung TVs have a more preise piture. When onneting a PC, you an only make hanges to Gamma and White Balane. Color Spae (Auto / Native): Adjusts the range of olors available to reate the image. White Balane: Adjusts the olor temperature for a more natural piture. R-Offset / G-Offset / B-Offset: Adjusts eah olor s (red, green, blue) darkness. R-Gain / G-Gain / B-Gain: Adjusts eah olor s (red, green, blue) brightness. Reset: Resets the White Balane to it s default settings. Gamma: Adjusts the primary olor intensity. Dynami Contrast (Off / Low / Medium / High): Adjusts the sreen ontrast. Blak Tone (Off / Dark / Darker / Darkest): Selet the blak level to adjust the sreen depth. Flesh Tone: Emphasize pink flesh tone. Motion Lighting (Off / On): Redue power onsumption by brightness ontrol adapted motion. Available in Standard mode only. Piture Options When onneting a PC, you an only make hanges to the Color Tone, Size and HDMI Blak Level. Color Tone (Cool / Standard / Warm1 / Warm2) Warm1 or Warm2 will be deativated when the piture mode is Dynami. Size: Your able box/satellite reeiver may have its own set of sreen sizes as well. However, we highly reommend you use 16:9 mode most of the time. 16:9: Sets the piture to 16:9 wide mode. Zoom1: Use for moderate magnifiation. Zoom2: Use for a stronger magnifiation. Wide Fit: Enlarges the aspet ratio of the piture to fit the entire sreen. 4:3: Sets the piture to basi (4:3) mode. Do not wath in 4:3 format for a long time. Traes of borders displayed on the left, right and enter of the sreen may ause image retention (sreen burn) whih are not overed by the warranty. Sreen Fit (DTV): Displays the full image without any ut-off when HDMI (720p / 1080i / 1080p) or Component (1080i / 1080p) signals are inputted. HD (High Definition): 16:9-1080i/1080p (1920x1080), 720p (1280x720) Settings an be adjusted and stored for eah external devie you have onneted to an input on the TV. Piture Sizes available by Input Soure: Input Soure Piture Size ATV, AV, Component (480i, 480p) 16:9, Zoom1, Zoom2, 4:3 DTV(1080i, 1080p), Component (1080i, 1080p), HDMI (720p, 1080i, 1080p) 16:9, Wide Fit, 4:3, Sreen Fit Digital Noise Filter (Off / Low / Medium / High / Auto): If the broadast signal reeived by your TV is weak, you an ativate the Digital Noise Filter feature to redue any stati and ghosting that may appear on the sreen. When the signal is weak, try other options until the best piture is displayed. HDMI Blak Level (Normal / Low): Selets the blak level on the sreen to adjust the sreen depth. Available only in HDMI mode (RGB signals). Film Mode (Off / Auto): Sets the TV to automatially sense and proess film signals from all soures and adjusts the piture for optimum quality. Available in ATV, DTV(interlae), AV, COMPONENT (480i / 1080i) and HDMI (480i / 1080i). LED Motion Plus (Off / On): Removes drag from fast senes with a lot of movement to provide a lear piture. Piture Reset Resets your urrent piture mode to its default settings. Reset Piture Mode: Returns all piture values in the urrently seleted mode to the default settings

7 Sound Menu Mode t Standard: Selets the normal sound mode. Musi: Emphasizes musi over voies. Movie: Provides the best sound for movies. Clear Voie: Emphasizes voies over other sounds. Amplify: Inrease the intensity of high-frequeny sounds to allow a better listening experiene for the hearing impaired. Equalizer (standard sound mode only) Balane L/R: Adjusts the balane between the right and left speaker. 100Hz / 300Hz / 1KHz / 3KHz / 10KHz (Bandwidth Adjustment): Adjusts the level of speifi bandwidth frequenies. Reset: Resets the equalizer to its default settings. SRS TruSurround HD (standard sound mode only) SRS TruSurround HD is a patented SRS tehnology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multihannel ontent over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a ompelling, virtual surround sound experiene through any two-speaker playbak system, inluding internal television speakers. It is fully ompatible with all multihannel formats. Preferred Language (digital hannels only) Digital-TV broadasts are apable of simultaneous transmission of many audio traks (for example, simultaneous translations of the program into foreign languages). You an only selet a language from among the ones being broadasted. Multi-Trak Sound (MTS) (analog hannels only) Mono: Choose for hannels that are broadasting in mono or if you are having diffiulty reeiving a stereo signal. Stereo: Choose for hannels that are broadasting in stereo. SAP: Choose to listen to the Separate Audio Program, whih is usually a foreign-language translation. Depending on the program being broadast, you an listen to Mono, Stereo or SAP. Auto Volume Beause eah broadasting station has its own signal onditions, the volume may flutuate eah time hannel is hanged. This feature lets you automatially adjust the volume of the desired hannel by lowering the sound output when the modulation signal is high or by raising the sound output when the modulation signal is low. SPDIF Output The SPDIF (Sony Philips Digital InterFae) outputs an unompressed digital audio signal when you onnet the digital audio jak on the bak of the TV to a digital audio in jak on a reeiver or home theater. Audio Format: You an selet the Digital Audio output (SPDIF) format. The available Digital Audio output (SPDIF) format may differ depending on the input soure. By onneting the TV to a reeiver or home theater with Dolby Digital and 5.1h speakers and seleting Dolby Digital, you an maximize your interative 3D sound experiene Audio Delay: Lets you orret timing mismathes between the audio trak and the video when you are wathing the TV and listening to digital audio output from the TV through an external devie suh as an AV reeiver. When you selet Audio Delay, a slider appears. Use the left and right arrow buttons to adjust the slider. Press ENTERE when done (0ms ~ 250ms). Speaker Selet Speaker Selet (External Speaker / TV Speaker): If you are listening to the sound trak of a broadast or movie through an external reeiver, you may hear a sound eho aused by the differene in deoding speed between the TV s speakers and the speakers attahed to your audio reeiver. If this ours, set the TV to External Speaker. When you set Speaker Selet to External Speaker, the TV s speakers are turned off. You will hear sound through the external speakers only. When you set Speaker Selet to TV Speaker both the TV s speakers and the external speakers are on. You will hear sound through both. When Speaker Selet is set to External Speaker, the VOLUME and MUTE buttons will not operate and the sound settings will be limited. If there is no video signal, both the TV s speakers and the external speakers will be mute. Sound Reset Reset All: Resets all sound settings to the fatory defaults. Setup Menu Setting the Time Time The urrent time will appear every time you press the INFO button. Clok: Setting the lok is for using various timer features of the TV. If you disonnet the power ord, you have to set the lok again. Clok Mode: Set the urrent time manually or automatially. Clok Set: Set the Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minute and am/pm. Available only when Clok Mode is set to Manual. Time Zone: Selet your time zone. DST (Daylight Saving Time): Swithes the DST (Daylight Saving Time) funtion on or off. DST and Time Zone funtion is only available when the Clok Mode is set to Auto. Sleep Timer t Automatially shuts off the TV after a preset period of time. (30, 60, 90, 120, 150 and 180 minutes). To anel the Sleep Timer, selet Off. Timer 1 / Timer 2 / Timer 3 Three different on / off timer settings an be made. You must set the lok first. On Time / Off Time: Set the hour, minute, am/pm and Ativate / Inativate. (To ativate the timer with the setting you have hosen, set to Ativate.) Volume: Set the desired volume level.

Other Features Program Rating Lok The Program Rating Lok feature automatially loks out programs that are deemed inappropriate for hildren. The user must enter a PIN (personal identifiation number) before any of the Program Rating Lok restritions are set up or hanged. Program Rating Lok is not available in HDMI or Component mode. The default PIN number of a new TV set is Program Rating Lok: You an blok rated TV Programs. TV Parental Guidelines: You an blok TV programs depending on their rating. This funtion allows you to ontrol what your hildren are wathing. MPAA Rating: You an blok movies depending on their MPAA rating. The Motion Piture Assoiation of Ameria(MPAA) has implemented a rating system that provides parents or guardians with advaned information on whih films are appropriate for hildren. Canadian English: You an blok TV programs depending on their Anglophone Canadian. Canadian Frenh: You an blok TV programs depending on their Frenh Canadian rating. Downloadable U.S. Rating: Parental restrition information an be used while wathing DTV hannels. Change PIN: The Change PIN sreen will appear. To take your PC out of sleep mode, press a key on your keyboard or move the mouse. Then try turning your TV on. Cable/Satellite subsribers: Try HD hannels from the hannel line up. Air/Cable Antenna onnetion: Try HD hannels after performing Auto program.
