16 Preparing Installing Projeted Image and Position of Projetor Install the projetor as follows. Installing in parallel with the sreen If the projetor is installed at an angle to the sreen, keystone distortion ours in the projeted image. Adjust the projetor's position so that it is installed in parallel with the sreen. If the projetor annot be installed in front of the sreen, you an adjust the position of the image by using lens shift. s p.32 Installing the projetor horizontally by adjusting the height of either side If the projetor is tilted, the projeted image is also tilted. Install the projetor horizontally so that both sides are at the same height. If the projetor annot be installed horizontally, you an adjust the projetor's tilt with the front foot. s p.32 15

17 Preparing Various Setting Methods Warning A speial method of installation is required when suspending the projetor from a eiling (eiling mount). If it is not installed orretly, it ould fall ausing an aident and injury. If you use adhesives, lubriants, or oil on the eiling mount fixing points to prevent srews from loosening, or if you use things suh as lubriants or oils on the projetor, the projetor ase may rak ausing it to fall from its eiling mount. This ould ause serious injury to anyone under the projetor and also damage the projetor. Do not install it on an unstable shelf or in a plae out of load range. Otherwise, it ould fall or topple ausing an aident and injury. When installing it in a high position suh as on a shelf, take measures against falling by using wires to ensure the safety in an emergeny, suh as an earthquake, and prevent aidents. If it is not installed orretly, it ould fall ausing an aident and injury. Do not blok the air intake vent and air exhaust vent of the projetor. Bloking its air intake vent and air exhaust vent may trap heat inside ausing fire. Attention Do not setup the projetor in loations subjet to high humidity and dust, or in loations subjet to smoke from fires or tobao smoke. Do not use the projetor installed vertially. Doing so ould ause a malfuntion. Clean the air filter one every three months. Clean it more often if the environment is partiularly dusty. s p.116 Plaing on a table and projeting You an install the projetor on a table in your living room or on a low shelf to projet images. Suspending from the eiling and projeting You an suspend the projetor from the eiling with the optional eiling mount to projet images. 16

Use the table below to setup the projetor at the optimum position from the sreen. The values given here are for your referene only. The maximum lens shift adjustment values are shown in the following table. The projeted image beomes smaller after orreting distortion. Inrease the projetion distane to fit the projeted image to the sreen size. 21 Preparing Conneting a Devie Attention Make able onnetions before onneting to a power outlet. Chek the shape of the able's onnetor and the shape of the port, and then onnet. If you fore a onnetor of a different shape into the port, it ould ause damage and a malfuntion to our. EH-TW6700W omes with a terminal over allowing you to learly see the onnetor setion on the rear. Remove the Terminal Cover before onneting any ables. s p.26 Conneting Video Equipment To projet images from DVD/Blu-ray players, onnet to the projetor using one of the following methods. When using a ommerially available HDMI able You an also onnet your AV system to enjoy the audio from onneted equipment. When using the power supply port for an optial HDMI able, onnet it to the 1000mA power supply port. (EH-TW6800/EH-TW6700W/EH-TW6700 only) Conneting a Computer To projet images from a omputer, onnet the omputer using one of the following methods. When using a ommerially available omputer able When using a ommerially available HDMI able Conneting Smartphones or Tablets You an onnet MHL ompatible smartphones or tablets. 20

22 Preparing Use a ommerially available MHL able to onnet the miro USB port of smartphones or tablets to the HDMI2/MHL port on the projetor. The onneted smartphone or tablet begins harging when images are projeted. Attention Be sure to use an MHL ompatible able for making onnetions. If a able that does not meet the MHL standards is onneted, the smartphone or tablet ould generate heat, ause a liquid leak, explode or generate other onditions that ould result in a fire. If you onnet using a ommerially available MHL-HDMI onversion adapter, harging the smartphone or tablet may not work or you may not be able to perform operations using the projetor's remote ontrol. When using a lot of power, suh as when playing a movie, you may not be able to harge. This projetor will not harge devies in standby mode or when the battery in a smartphone or tablet is depleted. Conneting USB devies You an onnet USB devies suh as USB memories, and USB ompatible digital ameras. Using the USB able supplied with the USB devie, onnet the USB devie to the USB (TypeA) port on the projetor. When the USB devie is onneted, you an projet image files on the USB memory or digital amera as a slideshow. s p.72 When you have finished projeting, remove USB devies from the projetor. For devies with a power swith, make sure you turn them off before disonneting the USB devie. Attention If you use a USB hub, the onnetion may not operate orretly. Devies suh as digital ameras and USB devies should be onneted to the projetor diretly. Connet a digital amera using a USB able speified for use with the devie. Use a USB able less than 3 m in length. If the able exeeds 3 m, slideshows may not funtion orretly. 21

23 Preparing Conneting External Equipment Conneting Bluetooth devies You an onnet audio devies that support Bluetooth (A2DP ompliant) or 3D Glasses (Bluetooth 3DS Profile ompliant). Bluetooth audio devies are not supported in some ountries and regions. See the following for information on onneting 3D Glasses. s "Pairing 3D Glasses" p.51 Audio input to the HDMI1 port or HDMI2/MHL port is output from speakers or headphones that support Bluetooth. a Press the Devie. button to display menus in the order Settings - HDMI Link - Audio Out b Use the buttons to selet Projetor, and then press the button to onfirm the seletion. d Display menus in the order Settings - Bluetooth - Bluetooth Audio. Use the buttons to selet On, and then press the button to onfirm the seletion. 22

24 Preparing e f Turn on "pairing mode" on the Bluetooth devie you want to onnet to. See the doumentation supplied with the Bluetooth devie for more information. Selet Searh Bluetooth Devie. A list of available devies is displayed. g Use the then press the buttons to selet the Bluetooth devie you want to onnet to, and button to onnet. The next time you turn on the projetor, it automatially onnets to the last devie it onneted to. To hange the onneted devie, repeat the proedure from step 5. 25 Preparing Connet a Bluetooth devie that supports opyright protetion (SCMS-T). You may not be able to onnet depending on the standard and type of devie. Even when onneting within the speified ommuniation distane, onnetions an be lost due to the status of the signal. The ommuniation method for Bluetooth uses the same frequeny (2.4 GHz) as wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g) or mirowave ovens. Therefore, if these devies are used at the same time, radio wave interferene may our, the image and audio may be interrupted, or ommuniation may not be possible. If you do need to use these devies at the same time, make sure there is enough distane between them and the Bluetooth devie. Some devies use more power during video playbak than what is supplied and will therefore not enable harging during video playbak or other operations. 32 Basi Operations Adjusting the Projeted Image Sine images are unstable immediately after the projetor is turned on, before you make fous, zoom, or lens shift settings, we reommend waiting 30 minutes or more after starting to projet the images. Displaying the Test Pattern When adjusting the zoom/fous or the projetion position just after setting up the projetor, you an display a test pattern instead of onneting video equipment. Press the button on the remote ontrol to display the test pattern. The standard for horizontal lines at the top and bottom uses 2.40:1 CinemaSope. When you selet Color Isolation while projeting images, the olor seleted from R (red), G (green), or B (blue) is projeted. (EH-TW6800 only) Press the button again to end the test pattern display. Adjusting the Fous Turn the fous ring to adjust the fous. Adjusting the Projetion Size (Adjust Zoom) Grip the knob and turn the zoom ring to adjust the size of the projeted image. 31

33 Basi Operations Adjusting the Projetor's Tilt If the projeted image is horizontally tilted (the left and right sides of the projeted image are at different heights) when the projetor is setup on a table, adjust the front foot so that both sides are level with eah other. Adjusting the Position of the Image (Lens Shift) If the projetor annot be installed diretly in front of the sreen, you an adjust the position of the image by using lens shift. Turn the vertial and horizontal lens shift dials on the projetor to adjust the position of the image. To loate the enter of the lens shift range, turn the lens shift dial until you hear it lik. 32

34 Basi Operations Attention When using vertial lens shift for adjusting the position of the image, adjust the image by moving it upward and then finish the adjustment. If you move the image downward and finish the adjustment, its position may lower slightly. Do not keep turning the lens shift dials without effet. One the projetion image is positioned all the way to one edge, turning the dial further may impair image quality. The sharpest images will be ahieved when both of the vertial and horizontal lens shift dials are entered. When adjusting the projetion position using the lens shift, you are reommended to install the projetor in parallel with the sreen. You an move the image within the following range. a b Center of the lens Image with lens shift entered Caution When transporting the projetor, set the lens position to the enter. If you transport the projetor when the lens is not in the entral position, the lens shift mehanism ould be damaged. Also, attah the protetive pad that was attahed when you purhased it. When you annot make adjustments using lens shift, use Keystone to orret the distortion. s p.33 Correting Keystone Distortion If you plae the projetor at an angle to the sreen, or tilt it up or down, or off to the side, you may need to orret the distortion in the image. Press the buttons to display the V-Keystone/H-Keystone gauges. Inrease the projetion distane to fit the projeted image to the sreen size. Squeeze strethes the horizontal aspet of the input signal. This allows you to projet aross the full width of the sreen when using a ommerially available anamorphi lens. If Anamorphi Wide is seleted when Oversan is set, the image may be trunated. The following shows the setting items and proedures. Standard Thin Line Enhanement Thik Line Enhanement Enhanes the outlines for the projeted image overall. When adjusting Standard, the adjustment values for Thin Line Enhanement and Thik Line Enhanement are also adjusted at the same time. Details suh as hair and patterns on lothing are enhaned. Rough parts suh as outlines for entire subjets or the bakground are enhaned, making the overall image learer. a Press the button. Depending on the image, a highlight may be notieable at the border between olors. If this bothers you, set a smaller value. For the EH-TW6800, you an set Strength and Range. Strength: The larger the value, the stronger the ontrast. If you selet Yes, the previous ontent is erased and the urrent settings are saved. Loading, Deleting, and Renaming a Memory You an load, delete, and rename registered memories. If a 3D image is not projeted orretly even when a 3D format is set, the synhronization timing for the 3D glasses may be inversed. Charging the 3D Glasses The following harging methods are available, depending on the model of 3D Glasses being used. If you have a WirelessHD Transmitter, you an use it to harge the glasses. If you do not have a WirelessHD Transmitter, you an harge by using a USB Charging Adapter (ELPAC01). Charging using the WirelessHD Transmitter Use the USB able to onnet the 3D Glasses to the WirelessHD Transmitter. Charging using the USB Charging Adapter Use the USB harging able to onnet the 3D Glasses to the USB Charging Adapter, and then onnet the USB Charging Adapter to an eletrial outlet. When a able is onneted to the HDMI4 port, the WirelessHD Transmitter annot harge 3D glasses. 50

52 Useful Funtions You an only harge the 3D Glasses ELPGS03. Make sure you use the USB able supplied for the 3D glasses. You an use the glasses for approximately three hours after harging for just three minutes. A full harge takes 50 minutes and the glasses an be used for approximately 40 hours. You an also harge by onneting the 3D Glasses to the projetor. When using the projetor to harge the 3D glasses, onnet the USB harging able to the projetor's USB port. (Only when the projetor is turned on.) Attention Only onnet to an eletrial outlet that uses the voltage displayed on the adapter. Note the following points when handling the USB able. - You should not bend, twist, or pull the able with too muh fore. - You should not modify the able. - You should not perform wiring near an eletri heater. - You should not use the able if it is damaged. Pairing 3D Glasses To view 3D images, you first need to pair the 3D Glasses with the projetor. Press the [Pairing] button for a while on the 3D Glasses to start pairing. See the User's Guide for the 3D Glasses for more information. When using the 3D Glasses for the first time, pairing is performed when the 3D Glasses are turned on. You do not need to perform pairing if 3D images an already be viewed orretly. One pairing has been performed, you an view 3D images the next time the devies are turned on. You an perform pairing within a range of three meters from the projetor. While pairing is being performed, make sure you stay within a range of three meters from the projetor. Otherwise, pairing will fail. If synhronization annot be performed within 30 seonds, pairing is automatially aneled. When pairing is anelled, 3D images annot be viewed beause pairing fails. 51

Stop wearing the 3D Glasses immediately if they seem abnormal or a malfuntion ours. Continuing to wear the 3D Glasses ould ause an injury or ause you to feel unwell. Stop wearing the 3D Glasses if your ears, nose, or temples beome red, painful, or ithy. Continuing to wear the 3D Glasses ould ause you to feel unwell. Stop wearing the 3D Glasses if your skin feels unusual when wearing the glasses. In some very rare ases the paint or materials used in the 3D Glasses ould ause an allergi reation. Caution Viewing Time When viewing 3D images, always take periodi breaks during extended viewing. Long periods of viewing 3D images may ause eye fatigue. The amount of time and frequeny of suh breaks varies from person to person. If your eyes still feel tired or unomfortable even after taking a break from viewing, stop viewing immediately. 54

Doing so ould ause you to feel unwell. Do not plae any breakable or fragile objets around you when using 3D Glasses. 3D images may ause you to move your body involuntarily, resulting in damage to nearby items or personal injury. Only wear 3D Glasses when viewing 3D images. Do not move around while wearing 3D Glasses. Your vision may appear darker than normal, ausing you to fall or injure yourself. Try to stay as level with the viewing sreen as possible when viewing 3D images. Viewing 3D images at an angle redues the 3D effet and may ause you to feel unwell due to unintended olor hanges. If using 3D Glasses in a room with fluoresent or LED lighting, you may see flashing or flikering throughout the room. If this should our, redue the lighting until the flikering goes away or turn off the lights ompletely when viewing 3D images. In some very rare ases, this flikering ould trigger seizures or fainting for some individuals. If you begin to feel unomfortable or unwell at any time when viewing 3D images, stop immediately. Stay at least three times the height of the sreen away from the sreen when viewing 3D images. The reommended viewing distane for an 80-inh sreen is at least 3 meters, and at least 3.6 meters for a 100-inh sreen. Sitting or standing any loser than the reommended viewing distane may result in eye fatigue. Caution Health Risks You should not use 3D Glasses if you are sensitive to light, have a heart ondition, or are unwell. Doing so ould aggravate your pre-existing onditions. Caution Reommended Age of Use The minimum reommended age to view 3D images is six years old. Children under the age of six are still developing and viewing 3D images may ause ompliations. Consult your dotor if you have any onerns. Children viewing 3D images through 3D Glasses should always be aompanied by an adult. It is often diffiult to tell when a hild is feeling tired or unomfortable, whih ould result in them feeling suddenly unwell. Always hek with your hild to ensure that they are not experiening any eye fatigue during viewing. 55

This is useful when the projetor annot be setup near your AV devies as you an onnet the devies to the projetor without using ables. You an use the WirelessHD Transmitter in the following ways. You an onnet up to four AV devies at the same time, and swith images using the remote ontrol. As well as the projetor, you an onnet another monitor devie, suh as a television, to the HDMI Out port, and then swith the output using the remote ontrol. This allows other monitor devies suh as TVs onneted to the HDMI Out port to projet images from the onneted AV devie, even if the projetor is off. You an onnet smart devies and tablets that support MHL, and then projet images from the onneted MHL devie. You an also operate MHL devies from the projetor's remote ontrol, as well as harge the MHL devie. You an split the HDMI signal that is being input into the WirelessHD Transmitter into image and audio, and output to other devies. Even for AV devies that do not support HDCP 2.2, you an output audio by onneting to the HDMI Out port on the WirelessHD Transmitter. 56

However, the projetor does not turn on when onneted to the WirelessHD Transmitter even when the onneted devie is turned on. When Power Off Link is set to On, when the projetor is turned off, the onneted devies are also turned off. This only works when the onneted devie's CEC power link funtion is enabled. Note that depending on the status of the onneted devie (for example, if it is reording), the devie may not power off. 95 Configuration Menu Funtion Menu/Settings Explanation Operation Standby Mode Diret Power On On, Off You an set up the projetor so that projetion starts as soon as the power ord is plugged in without any button operations. Note that when this is set to On, projetion starts if power is restored after a blakout or other power outage and the power ord is still plugged into the projetor. Sleep Mode On, Off If the set time is exeeded and no signal is input, the projetor is automatially turned off and enters standby mode. When in standby mode, press the button on the remote ontrol or the button on the ontrol panel to start projetion. Sleep Mode Timer 1~30 Sets the interval for Sleep Mode. Illumination On, Off Set this to Off if the light from the indiators on the ontrol panel bother you when wathing a movie in a dark room. When set to Off, the WiHD transmitter indiator also turns off while standing by. Trigger Out * Off, Power, Anamorphi Wide Set the Trigger Out funtion to ommuniate the projetor's power on status and so on to external devies. When set to Off, no voltage is output from the Trigger Out port. When set to Power, voltage is output from the Trigger Out port when the projetor is on. If you hange this setting, the new setting will take effet the next time you turn the projetor on. Remedy If projeting the image from outside of the orretable range, you may not be able to orret the keystone distortion ompletely. Interferene or distortion appear in images If the projetor is suddenly taken from a old environment to a warm environment, or if sudden ambient temperature hanges our, ondensation may form on the surfae of the lens, and this may ause the images to appear fuzzy. Set the projetor up in the room about one hour before it is used. If the projetor is wet from ondensation, turn off the projetor, disonnet the power ord, and leave it for a while. Perform pairing. s p.51 Are there any devies that ause radio wave interferene in the viinity? Problems with HDMI Remedy If the projetor is projeting a 2D image, or if an error ours on the projetor that prevents the 3D image from being projeted, you annot view 3D images even if you are wearing the 3D Glasses. Chek that the input image is 3D ompatible. Sine most TV broadasts do not ontain a 3D format signal, 3D reeption must be set manually. If 3D Display is set to 2D from the Configuration menu, the projetor does not automatially hange to 3D even when a 3D image is input. Set 3D Display to 3D or Auto. s Signal - 3D Setup - 3D Display p.88 Unless the 3D format of the AV devie and 3D Format of the projetor are the same, part of the image may not be displayed. Remedy When onneting a Bluetooth devie for the first time, or when hanging to another Bluetooth devie, perform Searh Bluetooth Devie. s p.22 You annot onnet a Bluetooth devie that does not support opyright protetion (SCMS-T). You annot onnet a Bluetooth devie that does not support A2DP. The audio and onnetion for the Bluetooth devie disonnets Chek Are there any obstales between the projetor and the Bluetooth devie? Remedy Chek for any obstales between the projetor and the Bluetooth devie, and hange their positions to improve ommuniation. If the distane between the projetor and the Bluetooth devie exeed 10 m, the onnetion may be lost. Move the Bluetooth devie loser to the projetor. If the devie is used at the same time as other wireless equipment or mirowave ovens, radio wave interferene may our, and the image and audio may be interrupted. Avoid equipment that ould ause interferene. 111

113 Troubleshooting Problems with WirelessHD (EH-TW6700W only) Cannot projet WirelessHD images Chek Does the able onneting the supplied WirelessHD Transmitter meet the HDMI standards? Is WirelessHD set to Off? Are signals being reeived within the WirelessHD transmission range? Is the supplied WirelessHD Transmitter turned on? Is the WirelessHD indiator for the supplied WirelessHD Transmitter off? Is the Link indiator for the supplied WirelessHD Transmitter off? Has dust olleted in the WirelessHD Transmitter's vent? Are the projetor and the WirelessHD Transmitter faing the orret way? Remedy If the able does not meet the HDMI standards, operations are not possible. When WirelessHD is set to Off from the Configuration menu, projetion is not possible for WirelessHD input signals. Set WirelessHD to On, and then press the button. s Settings - WirelessHD - WirelessHD p.89 Chek the range within whih the WirelessHD's transeiver an ommuniate, and view within that range. s p.66 Chek the power lamp on the WirelessHD Transmitter. If there is no power being supplied, make sure the onnetor for the AC adapter is seurely onneted, and then turn on the power swith. The WirelessHD annot ommuniate with the projetor. Chek the range within whih the WirelessHD's transeiver an ommuniate, and setup within that range. No signal is output from the AV devie onneted to the WirelessHD Transmitter. Chek that the ables from the AV devie and the WirelessHD Transmitter are seurely onneted. There is an air exhaust vent on the bottom of the WirelessHD Transmitter. Communiation may not be possible if dust has olleted in the vent. Install the projetor so that dust does not ollet in the vent. Setup the projetor and the WirelessHD Transmitter so that they are faing eah other. Interferene, distortion, or interruption appear in WirelessHD Chek Are signals being reeived within the WirelessHD transmission range? Are there any obstrutions between the WirelessHD Transmitter and the projetor? Remedy Chek the range within whih the WirelessHD's transeiver an ommuniate, and view within that range. s p.66 Beause WirelessHD ommuniates using a tight beamed eletromagneti wave, if there are any people or objets and so on obstruting the ommuniation path, this ould have an adverse affet on the image. Make sure that there are no obstales between the WirelessHD Transmitter and the projetor within the WirelessHD transmission range. s p

Chek Video Reeption as you set up the transmitter as it is sometimes possible to improve the strength of the transmission by moving the WirelessHD Transmitter or hanging its diretion. s Settings - WirelessHD - Video Reeption p.89 Transmission strength may differ depending on the surroundings, or they may be unstable. Remedy Chek Video Reeption as you set up the transmitter as it is sometimes possible to improve the strength of the transmission by moving the WirelessHD Transmitter or hanging its diretion. s Settings - WirelessHD - Video Reeption p.89 Network problems Cannot aess the network via wireless LAN Chek Is Wireless LAN Power set to Off? Is the passphrase orret? Have you heked the Event ID? Remedy Set Wireless LAN Power to On in the Configuration menu. If this is already set to On, set Wireless LAN Power to Off, and then set it to On again. s Network - Wireless LAN Power p.95 Note that the passphrase is ase sensitive; upper ase and lower ase letters are treated as different haraters. Make sure that the aess point, the mobile devie, the omputer, and the projetor are not too far apart. Move them loser together and try to onnet again. 113

About Event ID Chek the event ID and perform the remedy given below. 117 Maintenane Maintenane Cleaning the Parts You should lean the projetor if it beomes dirty or if the quality of projeted images starts to deteriorate. Warning Do not use sprays that ontain flammable gas to remove dirt and dust from the projetor's lens, air filter, and so on. The projetor may ath fire due to the high internal temperature of the lamp. Cleaning the air filter Clean the air filter if dust has aumulated on the air filter or when the following message is displayed. "The projetor is overheating. Make sure nothing is bloking the air vent, and lean or replae the air filter." Attention If dust ollets on the air filter, it an ause the internal temperature of the projetor to rise, and this an lead to problems with operation and shorten the optial engine's servie life. It is reommended that you lean the air filter at least one every three months. Clean them more often than this if using the projetor in a partiularly dusty environment. Do not rinse the air filter in water. Do not use detergents or solvents. Lightly brush the air filter to lean it. If it is brushed too strongly, dust will be ground into the air filter and annot be removed. a Press the button on the remote ontrol or the ontrol panel to turn off the power, and then disonnet the power ord. Remove the air filter. Grip the knob in the enter of the air filter and pull it out. b Remove the air filter over. Hook your finger into the tab on the air filter over, and remove it downward. 116

118 Maintenane d Hold the air filter with the surfae faing down and tap it 4 or 5 times to remove the dust. f Install the air filter. Grip the air filter by the knob in the enter and insert it straight. Turn it over and tap the other side in the same way. Attention g Install the air filter over. Fasten the upper ath and then the lower one. If the air filter is hit too hard, it may beome unusable due to deformities and raks. e Remove any dust remaining on the air filter by using a vauum leaner from the front side. Cleaning the main unit Before leaning, make sure you unplug the harging adapter from the outlet. Clean the projetor's surfae by wiping it gently with a soft loth. If it is partiularly dirty, moisten the loth with water ontaining a small amount of neutral detergent, and then firmly wring the loth dry before using it to wipe the surfae. Attention Do not use volatile substanes suh as wax, alohol, or thinner to lean the projetor's surfae. The quality of the ase may hange or the paint may peel off. 117

119 Maintenane Cleaning the lens Before leaning, make sure you unplug the harging adapter from the outlet. Use a ommerially available loth for leaning glasses to gently wipe off dirt from the lens. Attention Do not rub the lens with harsh materials or handle the lens too roughly as it an easily beome damaged. When maintenane is neessary, disonnet the USB Charging Adapter from the eletrial outlet, and hek that all ables have been disonneted. The 3D Glasses ontain rehargeable batteries. Observe loal regulations when you dispose of them. Replaement Periods for Consumables Air filter replaement period If the message is displayed even though the air filter has been leaned s p.116 Lamp replaement period The following message is displayed when projetion starts: It is time to replae your lamp. Please ontat your Epson projetor reseller or visit to purhase. The projeted image gets darker or starts to deteriorate. The lamp replaement message is set to appear after 3400 H in order to maintain the initial brightness and quality of the projeted images. The message display time hanges depending on the usage situation, suh as the olor mode setting and so on. If you ontinue to use the lamp after the replaement period has passed, the possibility that the lamp may explode inreases. When the lamp replaement message appears, replae the lamp with a new one as soon as possible, even if it is still working. Depending on the harateristis of the lamp and the way it has been used, the lamp may beome darker or stop working before the lamp warning message appears. You should always have a spare lamp unit ready in ase it is needed. 118

121 Maintenane Replaing the lamp Warning When replaing the lamp beause it has stopped illuminating, there is a possibility that the lamp may be broken. If replaing the lamp of a projetor that has been suspended from the eiling, you should always assume that the lamp is raked, and remove the lamp over with are. When you open the lamp over, small shards of glass ould fall out. If any shards of glass get into your eyes or mouth, ontat a dotor immediately. Caution Do not touh the lamp over immediately after turning off the projetor as it is still hot. Wait until the lamp has ooled down suffiiently before removing the lamp over. Otherwise, you ould get burnt. We reommend the use of genuine EPSON option lamps. The use of non-genuine lamps may affet projetion quality and safety. Any damage or malfuntion aused by the use of non-genuine lamps may not be overed by Epson's warranty. a Press the button on the remote ontrol or the ontrol panel to turn off the power, and then disonnet the power ord. d Loosen the two lamp fixing srews. b Loosen the lamp over fixing srew. e Remove the old lamp. Grip the knob firmly and pull it straight out. Remove the lamp over. Slide the lamp over straight forward and remove it. 120

122 Maintenane f Install the new lamp. Make sure the lamp is faing the orret diretion and press it in. h Replae the lamp over. Slide the over bak into plae. g Tighten the two lamp fixing srews. i Tighten the lamp over fixing srew. Warning Do not disassemble or remodel the lamp. If a modified or disassembled lamp is installed in the projetor and used, it ould ause a fire, eletri shok, or an aident. Caution Make sure you install the lamp and lamp over seurely. If they are not installed orretly, the power does not turn on. The lamp ontains merury (Hg). Dispose of used lamps in aordane with your loal laws and regulations on disposing of fluoresent tubing. Resetting lamp hours After replaing the lamp, make sure you reset the lamp hours. The projetor reords how long the lamp is turned on and a message and indiator notify you when it is time to replae the lamp. a b Turn on the power. Press the button. The Configuration menu is displayed. 121

Color Uniformity: Turns olor uniformity on or off. i Selet the area you want to adjust, and then press the button. Adjust the outer areas first, and then adjust the whole sreen. Adjustment Level: There are eight levels from white, through gray, and up to blak. You an adjust eah level individually. Start Adjustments: Starts making olor uniformity adjustments. Reset: Resets all adjustments and settings for Color Uniformity to their default values. The image may beome distorted while adjusting Color Uniformity.
