2 CRITERIA FOR USE OF THE 200 TH LOGO: Draft for Review at May Meeting of Perth 200 Anniversary Panel 1. The Perth 200 Logo may only be used in conjunction with events or activities sanctioned by the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel. 2. Application for the use of the Perth 200 Logo must be made to the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel on the prescribed form, detailing the nature of the event or activity and how the logo will be used (print/clothing/web/souvenir item/communication pieces/etc.) sample attached for review 3. The Perth 200 Logo will not be approved for use for any group or activity that restricts participation to any particular segment of the population (e.g. private club or any organization that is not open for membership by the general population). 4. The Perth 200 Logo may not be used on any communication or other pieces that violates any bylaws of the Town of Perth or represents the municipality, its staff, programs or services in a negative light. 5. The Perth 200 Logo may only be reproduced true to its original form. Special effects and distortions of our logo are not permitted. The logo may not be redrawn, copied, photocopied or scanned for use as artwork. Full instructions on the use and reproduction of the logo are included in the Logo ID Guide which will be provided to successful applicants. 6. The Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel will ensure that all communications, guidelines and decisions of the Panel are accessible and transparent to the public. The decisions, business practices and communications of the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel are governed by the principles of honesty, integrity and fairness. 7. The Perth 200 Anniversary Panel believes that the celebration of this significant anniversary in our municipality will have a significant impact on tourism and the economy and will leave an important legacy to enhance the quality of life for our residents and businesses. As such, we aim to achieve the highest professional standards of excellence in the planning and management of the anniversary and expect our partners and sanctioned events to do likewise. 8. The Business Plan for the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel acknowledges the diversity of our residents and guests and the differing needs of our community. We support creative initiatives that contribute in a positive way to the celebration of our 200 th anniversary. 9. The Perth 200 Anniversary Panel looks favourably on organizations and events that respect for diversity, inclusion and volunteerism. 10. All partners and sanctioned events of the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel are encouraged implement a range of accessibility services and support for people with disabilities wherever possible. 11. A Letter of Agreement or a Letter of Decline will be sent to each applicant in a timely manner following consideration of their request by the Perth 200 th Anniversary Panel.

6 O N TAR I O C A N A D A The 200th Anniversary Logo for the Town of Perth, Ontario, Canada has been designed to give a strong visual image as well as a dynamic identity for the Town s 200th Celebration in Town of Perth, and its many related themes, such as heritage, recreation, and community life. The logo incorporates images representing: historical architecture with the iconic Town Hall - nity and agriculture the historic Tay River the military setttlement beginings in 1816 duelling pistols used in Canada s Last Fatal Duel Scottish heritage with the Scotch Thistle Perth s long and storied sports history is depicted with an image of Ian Miller on Big Ben Flexibility was a key in the creation of this logo. The logo has been designed so that it can successfully translate on paper, over a fax, on the internet, video applications and many more applications. The logo can also be easily reproduced at any reasonable size. The supporting typography is the current font used in the 3
7 LogoArtwork 200 O N T A R I O C A N A D A town and the town s progression into the future with historical images and progressive colours and clean design. The design s correct reproduction is critical to the integrity and importance of the logo s represetation of the 200th Annivarsary of the Town of Perth. The logo should only be reproduced true to its original form. Special effects and distortions of our logo are not permitted. Never redraw, copy, photocopy or scan the logo for use as artwork. Not all electronic artwork is compatible with all software. Each graphic format has its own strengths and weaknesses. 9 Backgrounds&Contrast 1/ The colour version of the logo must always appear on a white background and never on a coloured background. 1/ACCEPTABLE 1/UNACCEPTABLE 2/The black version of the logo must not be placed on a background that is too dark. This will make the logo hard to see. 3/The white version of the logo must not be placed on a background that is too light. 10 LogoTypeface The typeface used in the logo is Book Antiqua Bold and Book Antiqua Regular. The fonts were chosen to match the Corporate Brand of the Town of Perth. No other font can be substituted for the fonts used in the design of this logo. 11 BufferZone O N T A R I O C A N A D A The Perth 200th identity requires a buffer zone around it that text and images cannot enter regardless of the documents background. This buffer zone is indicated by the red outline rectangle in the diagram above. The minimum buffer zone around the logo is determined by the height of the oval that contains 200 in the logo. When possible, the logo works best with a generous amount of white space around all four boundaries. 8
12 LogoReduction The Perth 200 identity requires a ACCEPTABLE UNACCEPTABLE has been designed so that it reduces down to a reasonable, printable size. Ideally the smallest reduction size that the logo can appear is no less than 1 in height x.75 in width O NTAR I O C A N A D A O NTAR I O C A N A D A SymbolOnly If the Perth 200 identity symbols are used without any typographical support all guidelines and restrictions of the logo design apply to both black and white and colour versions of the symbol. The symbol can be broken up into individual icons for graphic purposes only. See next page for samples. GraphicTreatmentOnly The symbol alone or in sections can be used as a graphic element as shown here in a screened version to the right and as a graphic element on the pages of this guide to the left. This treatment must only be used with the black and white version and never the colour version. The colour version should never be screened back in value. 9
13 PossibleApplications The symbol could be broken up into individual icons to create a family look of applications for such items as banners, T shirts and other souvenirs. 10
