1 1 Welcome to the 2014 Adult Summer Reading Club Program! Congratulations on your registration for the Summer Reading Club at Southwest Public Libraries. The theme this summer is Literary Elements and the Adult Program is set up differently than past years. This packet includes all the rules, events, and everything else you need to know about the program. Rules and Reviews Weekly Prize Bags Activity Extras Grove City Events and Programs Grove City Events and Programs Westland Double Entry Book List Rules and Reviews The Adult Summer Reading Club is all new this year! There is no need to count hours or keep track of milestones for prizes. Just read or listen to books and submit reviews based on what you think. You can read as much as you want. The more you read, the more prize opportunities you earn! Choose a few words describing the book from the review sheets or write your own review on the back. All reviews count towards weekly prize bags AND the grand prize. Read a book related to our Literary Elements theme and double your raffle entries. Check the attached Book list for titles that count for double. Review sheets are available online and in the library. You can submit up to 7 online reviews each week. Review sheets are also available throughout the building. Just turn the sheets in at the Information Desk or the Youth Services Desk. Please include your username and contact information on every review sheet. Look out for completed reviews on display around the library. A review sheet is included so you can get started right away! Weekly Prize Bags Participants will have the chance to win a themed prize bag every week. Each bag contains prizes related to the weekly theme and the Literary Elements theme. Participants are eligible to win one prize a week. Every review you submit equals one raffle entry for that week s prize and one entry for the grand prize. There is a different prize each week. If you really like one, you can save some reviews for
2 that week. We ll contact prizewinners each week by their indicated method. Check out the prize schedule below: 2 Week 0 - June 7 through June 15 - No prizes this week! Any reviews you submit this week go towards the grand prize raffle. Use this week to get acquainted with the program and help your friends get signed up. Week 1 - June 16 through June 22 - Yard and Garden prize bag Week 2 - June 23 through June 29 - Family Fun prize bag Week 3 - June 30 through July 6 - Coffee prize bag Week 4 - July 7 through July 13 - Arts and Crafts prize bag Week 5 - July 14 through July 20 - Movie/Date Night prize bag Week 6 - July 21 through July 28 - Experience Grove City/Westland Area prize bag Reviews submitted after July 28 will go towards the grand prize only. Activity Extras at Grove City Each week, a fun themed activity or quiz can be found at the Information Desk. The top 3 entries with the most correct answers each week will win a small prize. No raffle entries will be granted for participation in these activities. They are just fun extras! Feel free to pick up an activity sheet and return it later completed. Researching your answers is encouraged! Here is the weekly schedule: Week 0 - June 7 through June 15 - No extra activity this week!
