Bring in your gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and more in August for our HUGE book sale. Generally, the library will only take small donations of materials that are 5 years old or newer. Those rules are going to be set aside for this event, so bring in all of the material that you want. The sale will be in the Youth Room during regular library hours. August 29 1:00 Yoga Book Club Book discussion will include yoga poses to enhance understanding and create social interactions. Please have the book read prior to the discussion date. Wear comfy clothes and bring a yoga mat. September & Virtual Reality in the Library Available on request as staffing permits. Experience Virtual Reality in the library. Scheduled sessions are limited to 15 minute sessions on either our HTC VIVE Headset/computer system or on our PS4 VR system. PlayStation VR does NOT recommend use for those under 13. All users must sign a Release of Liability. Yoga Book Club Wednesday, August 29 th 6:00 Youth Room Presented by: Courtney Winkler Book discussion will include yoga poses to enhance understanding and create social interactions. Kiwanis Bike Rodeo, Bounce House, and Cupcake Factory Saturday, September 15 1:00-3:00 pm We are partnering with the Glen Carbon Police Dept. and Kiwanis Club to introduce bike safety to our community's bike riders. Bring your own bike and helmet and learn the rules of the road for safe bicycle riding. This event is focused on youth but all ages are welcome to ride through the bike course and test your skills. Move from biking to bouncing in the Bounce House from 1:00-3:00 pm. Top off the afternoon of fun and activity with a stop at the Cupcake Factory on the Library's Patio and stroll through our newly installed Story Walk in Miner's Park.
