ALL ABOUT ME!! By: Emma Halloway Mr. Hoskins 4th grade Hello, my name is Emma Halloway and I will be telling you guys all about me! My full name is Emma Elizabeth Halloway and I was born 8/20/03. My favorite colors are Neon Green, Hot pink, Black, White and Silver. When I am bored, I like to draw, sing, dance, write or do math. I also enjoy acting because you get to feel like the character and not yourself anymore. I am actually really good at drawing. In fact, the rooster that I made in art class got in the art show. And, I think the principal chooses their favorite artwork out of the school and she said she chose mine!! I absolutely love to sing. A lot of people have told me I am really good at singing and I actually believe it. Another thing is, I love to dance. Dancing is one of my biggest hobbies and it is so fun and energizing. Now I would like to talk about my social life and my personality. I am a very nice, fashion obsessed, beautiful, not totally conceited, talented diva. And if you read this and say, none of this is true, then tell me and I will have a little talk with you. Why? Because this totally awesome stuff is true! I have a really big social life. But half of it is on this totally addicting website called Movie Star Planet, where I have over 70 friends and I m really famous and pretty. In the real world I have a lot of friends too. But my BBBL (Best Friend For Life), Alyssa is like Late Spring Edition my sister. We always get along. We like the same things, and we even look like twins but I m way taller. I m 5ft 2 while she is about 4ft 4. Alyssa and me have a very close bond that is crazy craycrazy! Now, I hope this paper has made you learn a few things about me. So, when I walk by, I will be expecting some chatter about e (by some, I mean A LOT!!) Water Snakes Matthew 2 nd A water snake is a snake that lives in the water. A water snake bite feels like a pinch. It does not hurt. The only one that does hurt is when it s about two feet long and fat. A water snake can live in ay water: river, lake, pond, and stream. A water snake is cool and fun to play with. Tiger Matthew 2 nd grade A tiger can weigh up to 720 pounds or 363 kilograms. They can be up to four feet long. They eat deer and antelope. Tigers wait until its dark to hunt. They can have five cubs. The cubs weigh about 60 pounds or 27 kilograms. Some tigers live in India. (A few facts were left out because the editors believe they needed to be checked for accuracy.) 3 Hi, my name is Abigail ad I would like to share a couple of facts with you about the American Bison. Did you know Bison weigh up to 3,000 pounds? That is very heavy. Bison usually live in grasslands. They always eat grass, if you were wondering. People think bison are related to buffalo but actually the animal that most people call a buffalo is a bison. That s enough facts for today. I got this info from our field trip to: Native Lands. Zebra Autumn Ray Deiedzic 2 nd grade There is no mistaking what you re seeing when you spot a horse-like animal with black and white stripes. It s a zebra. Each zebra has its own unique pattern of distinctive stripes, just as humans have their own unique pattern of finger prints. No two sets of stripes or fingerprints are exactly the same. Zebras may even use stripe patterns to help them recognize different individuals. Fast facts: There are three species of zebras. The scientific name for the Burchells zebra is Equus Burchellii. A zebra can run up to about 35 miles per hour. This is 58 kilograms per hour. A zebra s night vision is believed to be as good as an owl. Watch D.O.G.S (Dads of Great Students) is a new program that we have going on at Fordline Elementary school. Dads come in and volunteer their time to spend some quality time with the students. One of the Watch Dogs is Mr. Losee and the students have an interview with him for this paper. Maddy & Morgan 2 nd grade WATCH DOG of the Year in our book. MM: What is favrite color? ML: blue MM: What do like to do at home your you and at school? ML: I like to play and talk to patients. MM: What is your favorite place? ML: The lake Mr. Losee is a great man and has been to our classroom two times this year. The Cup VS. The Cake By: Miguel Alcorta Once there was a cake that hated being chased by people who wanted to eat him. In fact, he was so angry, he destroyed every cup except the one he hid in. The cake got a big surprise. The cup that he hid in was a trap. It was a cup that had arms. The cup picked him up and threw him out. The cake was disappointed. The cake said, Why did you do that, I need to hide. The cup didn t mind, he just said, Go away you sugar head. Now the cake was mad. He was never called such a name like that. The cake said, Nobody, not even you could call me such a name, you big wimp! The cup added on, Bring it on old man!!! They started to fight until cup threw a pillow at Cake. Cake was stuck until he went to a near by bakery and got baked bigger, and bigger, and bigger until he was 20,000 feet tall. Now to get my revenge! He said. The next day Cake went with its super huge self to Cup s house and crushed it. Lucky for Cup, he had a surprise for Cake. Cup had a special tube that sucks up size. Cup tried to suck him up but Cake just whacked him with a tree trunk. Cup was shattered into pieces. Haw! Cake laughed, as he never noticed he was being chomped down to 6 feet. He got gobbled up by Wedgie Panda. Wedgie Panda s real name was Po. Lesson learned: Watch out for hungry pandas. The Night My Secrets Got Revealed By: Lily Lawson I was in my room thinking of all the stuff that had happened that day. Oh and by the way, my name is Kattie. Well, as I was thinking of everything that happened that day, I thought I would write in my diary. I wrote, Dear Diary, today was rough. Tiffany made all of my friends ignore me. I hope they just did it to fit in. I guess I am on my own now, but I m okay. I put down my pencil just as the

4 phone started to ring. When I answered, it was Gabriella. She said, Hey Katie, it s Gabriella, I just wanted to apologize. I am so sorry!. It s okay, but why did you listen to Tiffany? I asked. Well, I just wanted to fit in. She explained. Okay, well, I ll call you later, bye. I hung up in a hurry. I plopped on my bed, exhausted. I laid there for a half an hour and when I started to doze off, my mom yelled, Kattie, can you give Savana a bath please? Well, I was half asleep, not really knowing what my mom had said. But, I finally said Who s Savana? Honey, did aliens come and wash out your memories? Savana is your little sister! She yelled. Ok, I will give Savana a bath. I said. Then Savana ran into my room and yelled in my ear, SO WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Ahhh! I m deaf. I screamed in shock. Savana laughed. Savana, you should know better! I scolded. Yeah, and you re thirteen and still still ummmmm. She tried to think of something. Well, I guess you can t think of anything! I laughed Well, apparently, I crossed some sort of line and Savana head-butted me in the stomach. It knocked me backwards onto my bed. Then she jumped on me. Well, my mom and I had made a deal that if Savana and I didn t fight we could have a sleepover with our friends. If there was any fighting, no sleepover! Apparently my mom heard a noise in my room and didn t know what it was. She came and knocked on my door. She asked suspiciously, What s going on? Are you girls fighting? No mom! I said painfully as Savana dug her elbow into my back. Are you sure, because I thought I heard some noise? Yep. I answered. Then what was that noise? Well, umm, room! I said quickly. What? Well, you know my room is um, dirty, yeah, that s right, my room s dirty. Oh, okay, do you need help cleaning? No, I mean you can t even open my door. I said, hoping my mom would leave. As soon as I heard footsteps going down the stairs, I threw Savana onto my bed and sat on her. That didn t last long. Three seconds later, Savana was sitting on me. I said Awe, you stink, no wonder mom wants you to take a bath!. I soon found out that Savana hadn t taken a bath in four weeks! O.M.G. YOU NEED A BATH! Savana had a look for everything and this time the look was NO BATH! So, I grabbed Savana by the hair and pulled her into the bathroom. Ok, let s go through the check list: 40 pounds soap check 80 towels check Lots of money to pay the water bill check 12 hours of time check. After twelve hours of washing, it was time to blow dry Savana s hair. But in a half hour, the power was out. I gave up and ran to my room to write in my diary. I wrote Dear Diary, I hate always having my sister around to ruin my day! Then I heard a knock at the door. I ran downstairs to see if it was my daddy. Sure enough, it was my dad! Upstairs, Savana was poking around my room when she found my diary lying on the floor. She did what any young girl would do. She opened it up and read it. Afterward, Savana was ripping out a page. Savana, your father is home. My mom yelled. Coming. Savana yelled back. Savana ran downstairs hiding the page from my diary behind her back and secretly, she stuffed it into her backpack. Apparently, Savana s in some sort of newspaper and Savana must have been so mad hat she wanted the people at school to think that I don t like my sister and that I am a horrible sister. She should have known that I would find out sooner or later. The next morning, I explained that I didn t mean it and I was just frustrated. The End! Baseball By: Phoenix Perez One day in the castle, there was a feast for a little baby dinosaur. He was five. He loved baseball. His dad got him a baseball bat. The baby dinosaur did not know how to use it. However, the baby got an idea. He thought that hitting his daddy s head was what he needed to hit with his bat. He didn t hit his mama and now it s his hobby. By: Caitlyn Wetherbee 5 th Grade

5 Getting a Dog. Are you getting a new dog? If you are, make sure you choose wisely. Be sure you pick the perfect size for you. You want to pick the one that you love the most. Make sure that you can still care for the dog even when it gets big. Make sure when it s a puppy it doesn t bite. Even though it doesn t hurt, it s teaching the puppy that it is okay to bite and when it gets older it will bite and hurt. One more thing, make sure to have all the supplies you need. Keep all that in mind and you re sure to be the perfect owner! I am Caitlyn Wetherbee in Mr. Piestrak s 5 th grade. If you need advice, talk to me. Once upon a time, there was a girl named Lindsey. She loved school. She loved every subject. Her favorite subject was math. She was very god at it. She also liked reading. One day she went to school and she was the only one with her hand up. Her hand was up for the whole time. It was up for the whole day. The next day she went to school and everyone had their hands up except Lindsey. So, the teacher called on Lindsey. They were doing math. The teacher asked Lindsey what is eight plus five? Lindsey didn t answer. Finally, the day was over. Lindsey was sad that she couldn t answer the math, so she went home to practice. She studied hard and she lived happy as she could ever be. The End These short stories come to us from Lindemann Elementary School and the authors are second grade students in Mrs. Kaneko s class. The Creek Kids By: Lidia Cappeletti (Based on a true story) There was a young girl who was not an ordinary girl. You might say she was more like a boy. Her name was Lidia Alex Tomzinky. She had a nice family with a brother, a mom, and a dad. Her brother was named Chase Andrew Tomzinky. Her mom was named Alexis Gean Tomzinky and her dad was Enrico David Tomzinky. They lived by a creek and Alex loved it very much. She caught may animals and found bones. She had a life-long best friend, forever. His name was Erick Mikle Garzinkey. They had traps, zip lines, obstacle courses, and test for starters. They unclogged the three rapids, where they caught stuff like crayfish, and turtles. The animals that live in the creek are: crayfish, fish, coyotes, fox, rats, raccoons, skunks, frogs, toads, groundhogs, river beaver, snapping turtles, painted turtles, and bunnies. Snapping turtles can stretch out their necks to the middle of their backs. Fifth grade students had Tiger Day. th 4 grade students took part in a fun and exciting crime scene investigation. We even had students from the high school come and help us with our evidence stations. rd 3 graders learned several things about force and motion and even found out that it was possible to walk on eggs without breaking them.
