2 For a Black Girl For a Black Girl is a bold new play which talks unflinchingly about issues facing our country today. With six actors and over 60 characters, the show fuses spoken word, interviews and movement to tell the stories of BAME citizens within the UK. This semi-autobiographical piece of new writing explores female sexuality, violence towards women and the staggering effect of everyday racism. From the bookstore to house parties, the play travels through a myriad of situations in which misogynoir is alive and kicking. Writer Nicole Acquah also performs in the play, sharing her stories and the stories of others onstage. 4 The four part documentary series, Young, Gifted and Grinding highlights innovative black entrepreneurs in Britain who are carving out opportunities for themselves and turning their passion into profit. Ndrika travelled across the country interviewing POC business owners, artists and content creators to explore their experiences and learn more about how and why they do what they do. The purpose of the series is to offer tangible, practical advice to act as a source of inspiration for this generation and the next. Join Ndrika for the screening of her documentary series, exploring the black hair industry and new media. Catch Black Don t Crack and Pull Tag Knot, short films by Slough filmmaker Ayesha Ramsay in collaboration with Resource Productions, before the documentary series. Against a powerful soundtrack of original music and traditional gospel and blues sung live, two women 42 years apart become involved in the struggle for civil rights.
