1 1 TASTE OF BRASS ORCHESTRA David Krajci Orchestra () THE PROFILE Taste of Brass Orchestra is a Slovak Professional ensemble performing 60 s and 70 s music in its own resourceful arrangements. The repertoire of the band consists of a temporal hits being popular but not annoying, charming but not grovelling, old and even older but still up to date. The songs are arranged mainly by the band leader and they evoke the sound and the atmosphere of famous dace orchestras such as Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass, James Last Orchestra, Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, The Beatles and others. The Taste of Brass is one of kind band in with its fifteen members playing, besides many others, songs popular from TV series, movies and other songs known from the TV screen. It is a group of outstanding young musicians enthusiastic about good music. Their diverse music preferences are reflected in variegated sound of the band which despite being created by disparate mixture of personalities, or perhaps thanks to it, creates a consistent, fluent balanced impression. Taste of Brass is a young band as far as the age of its members is considered as well as according to the length of its existence but their performance is mature and ambitious. With each and every performance and almost with each and every played song they advance and it is easy to see that they know exactly where they are going.

3 3 ORGANIZATIONAL RIDER TRANSPORT When the travel distance is less than 500 km (the travel distance is calculated from Bratislava, ), the transport in managed by TASTE OF BRASS ORCHESTRA by bus. The price for travelling is usually included in the performance price. When the travel distance is more than 500 km (the travel distance is calculated from Bratislava, ), the transport is managed by event organizer, who pays for the transport of the musicians and their instruments. All travel costs (over 500 km) are paid by the organizer and are not included in the price for artistic music performance of the orchestra. In that case the airplane or train transport should be provided. When travelling by train, first class tickets are demanded. When travelling by plane, the musical instruments need to be taken into consideration, since some of the instruments may exceed the standard luggage size and weight. Reservation of the travel tickets should be consulted with the band leader according to the schedule of the band. The organizer also provides the transport from the airport/railway station after the arrival in every case. Combination of various means of transport is possible upon an agreement (e.g. musicians shall travel by plane/train and the instruments shall by transported by a minivan.) ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD Accommodation in a hotel with at least three stars is demanded. Accommodation should be provided in twin bedrooms with balcony, bathroom, fridge and internet connection. It is necessary to provide a lockable room for the instruments. In case of a longer stay (more that 1 day) a bigger (conference) room should be available for the band to practice.

4 4 Food is paid by the organizer and is not included in the price for artistic music performance of the orchestra. Three meals a day should be provided (breakfast, lunch, dinner). Meal expense payments are acceptable instead as well. The dressing room (in the place where the performance shall take place) should be large enough for 15 people and it should be lockable. Two mirrors and 15 chairs are required. Catering for 15 people in the dressing room should include: hot (ground) coffee and creamer, green tea, bottled water, cold dish, fresh pastry, fruit. The food in the dressing room is provided and paid by the organizer and is not included in the price for artistic music performance of the orchestra. PERFORMANCE ORGANIZATION The organizer should provide the transport of the musicians from the hotel to the place of the performance. The orchestra members should be transported to the place of the performance at least three hours prior to the performance. Local technical crew (e.g. stage manager, sound master, light master should be present. If the crew do not speak English, professional interpreter should be available. The sound check should last at least one hour and should be done in privacy (no media or any other people and/or visitors are allowed). The light technician may set the lights during the sound check in accordance with the band leader and the stage technician. The length of the performance and the playlist may vary according to agreement between the band leader and the organizer. The performance usually consists of 1x 80 minutes continuous concert, or consist of 1x 180-minutes evening s program (3-hours together) with breaks: 1x 45 section, 3x 30 performance section, 3x 15 break. All sections are good for listening and dancing. During the break merchandise products may be sold in the place. If an encore is demanded by the audience, one, two or more additional songs can be played.

7 7 Since the arranger of all the songs is the bandleader himself, the orchestra can easily stretch their repertoire upon a specific request. Technical Specifications An organizer should provide: a) Appropriate lighting of the space where the performance will take place. b) Appropriate professional sound system for the space where the performance will take place. c) Professional sound system service and equipment for fifteen musicians according to the Stage plan.
