Literature Review: The government of India is establishing so many central universities in different regions of the country with an objective to develop quality education and high level research and development in the country. In the present study, the authors have undertaken a bibliometric study of such a leading central university of the country, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. The main intention of the study is to reflect the research trend and scenario of the university during the period 2010 to As, in India a good numbers of institutions have been studied in respect to their scientific research, the authors have reviewed some of the related literatures to bring a clear understanding of the present study. Kumbar, Gupta and Dhawan (2008) made a case study on growth and impact of research output of University of Mysore from 1996 to 2006 extracting 1518 publications from SCOPUS database. They have tried to analyze the strong and weak areas of university research, their growth rate and impact in terms of average citations received and impact of research under different existing departments of the university. Sevukan and Sharma (2008) carried out a bibliometric analysis of research output of biotechnology faculties in some Indian central universities during indexed in PubMed and ISI Web of Science database. The results indicated a steadily growth of literature publications in the study. Two-authored publications predominate amongst the pattern of authorship. However, the application of Bradford s law did not fit to the literature analyzed. Nandi and Bandyopadhyay (2009) made an analytical study of research contributions in Chemistry at the University of Burdwan during He study revealed that maximum 58 numbers of theses were submitted in inorganic chemistry followed by nuclear and analytical chemistry (34). About 53% of the papers were published in Indian Journals. Collaborating countries were Netherlands (15.32%), UK (11.64%) and USA (10.01%). Kumar and Dora (2012) examined research productivity of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) during indexed in Web of Science & SCOPUS. The study attempted to identify most preferred journals by the researchers, most productive authors, authorship pattern and most cited journals by researchers of IIMA. Sevukan and Arivoli (2012) instigated a bibliometric analysis of research trends among academics in Pondicherry University. The study analyzed 704 publication indexed in ISI Web of Science by the researcher of Pondicherry University during and revealed that the research going on in the university is collaborative in nature. 43
