1 Name: Teacher: Block: Tenth Grade Summer Reading Book Title Author Setting (Time, Place) Synopsis (Plot Summary)
2 Project- Character analysis Choose a character from the novel and develop a characterization using digital tools. You may create a PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, (other free presentation software including SlideDog, powtoon.com, emaze), a website/blog (Free sites include: site blog, Site Builder, website builder.com, weebly.com, wordpress.com), a Twitter series of conversations, or a storyboard for a presentation (see attached template). You may also create a video if you like. You may upload your project to You Tube, or put it into a Dropbox/Google drive and share the URL with your English Teacher for grading. Your teacher may instruct you to upload it into Canvas for grading. Using one of these digital presentations, create a characterization that answers all of the following: What does the character look like physically? What are significant characteristics of this person mentally? What does the character want? What does the character think of others? What do others think of the character? What does the character think of himself/herself? How does the character react in particular situations? You must include in your presentation a personal connection that you have with this character and use textual evidence in the form of three quotes and page numbers in an MLA format which would include the author s last name and the page number like this: I agree with Anya from The Other Side of Life when she says Friends are the family you choose (Scott 1) as my friends have always been there for me. The following page is a template of a storyboard where you can draw a storyboard by hand that you can turn in as a hardcopy to your teacher if you do not have digital access.
