You must be able to answer the question: What are your primary conclusions in regard to the treatment of your theme in the three works read for this semester? Names and dates alone are not important; what is the significance of these in the author's life and in this writing? What are some particular events in the author s life or time period that you think may have an impact on his or her life experience, and therefore affect his or her writing? Cite biographical/historical data in the text as needed! B. Examples of how the story reveals the theme and the author s tone TWO paragraphs Use literary vocabulary to describe how the author expresses the theme though individual story elements (setting, character, plot, conflict) or a combination thereof. Thirteen paragraphs (about four pages) is expected, and will show depth of understanding of the theme explored, via discussion of how the theme is revealed through the literary works cited. Do not use headers or subheaders in your text. Use transition words and write fluidly, linking your ideas together with words. When needed, use reliable sources, including your novel texts, and properly cite them in the text. Also include a Works Cited page as part of your document (on its own page). For this class, a copy of Writers INC: A Student Handbook for Writing & Learning is required: refer to it in composing this paper. Creative project: This term project will result in a class presentation during which you will conversationally highlight your key points. You will also be required to present a visual, audio, or other approved creative project as part of your presentation. This portion of the project must be used to illustrate or emphasize some important aspect of your thesis/project. Be sure to complete your assignment according to instructions. You will be graded for following these instructions EXACTLY.
