COZY TIME s.l. c/jazmín 42, Madrid. Spain. B Tel.: presents lyrics AT THE JALINTRO by flamenco kids
THE JALINTRO The Flamenco Kids are here! Flamenco Kids Flamenco Kits What do you mean by kits? Kids, in English we call children KIDS Oh kids, as children in English, of course That s it Let s go 1, 2, 3 Flamenco Kids Flamenco Children Flamenco Kids Do you know where the Flamenco Kids live? In Quillolandia What colour is the sky? Blue And the sand? White And the sea? Silver Actually, there are also some small rocks made of coral and incrusted shells. If you look out on the horizon, you ll see a long line that seems to cut through the sea. These are the coral reefs (the corals), a stretch made of corals, sea shells, sand and rocks lined up one after the other. When the tide is high, the glistening sea covers them. When the tide is low, at some point on this line a pool will appear, made of sea water and emerald green reflections. This is where the Jalintro is (the Jalintro), the school of the Flamenco Kids. In the morning, they gather there to invent games and start a new adventure every day the adventure of growing up. Come on, come on To the Jalintro, to the Jalintro Cause I d like to compose With a keyboard and its intro Full of small letters, Numbers and notes And the colours I want to learn, To make Andrés dance without concern.
BLIEFT to In the Jalintro, there is a cone pepper with millions of things inside that help us to find ideas, catch dreams and invent stories, in short, with everything we need in order to create what we can possibly imagine. You will also find rocks where plasticine is stored, pencil cases and screws, shiny stars and boxes full of colours. And there are books, many books, full of words and images that tell us about life. At sunrise, the Flamenco Kids meet at the Jalintro: Grabi, the colour blind chameleon; Andrés, the dancing sea urchin; Lola, the toothless seabream; Luis, the octopus singer-songwriter; Daniel, the gloomy baby shrimp, who hides behind his orange alga; Don Pedro, the lightfoot crab, with some of his hats; and Orséa, the anemone, always clinging her rock. You already met all of them, but now a new friend has arrived: Blieft. Children: Blieft? Who is Blieft? Blieft is an eel who came from another world and stayed in Quillolandia. She has a tattoo on her skin and doesn t speak Spanish. Would you like me to tell you some more things about Blieft? Children: Yes, please yes! Blieft is an eel Methodical and kind, She came to Quillolandia With no idea in mind. She found fiestas and some fun, Another language for her to learn, A seambream, who was spot on And many lights to be switched on. Chorus I am Blieft You are Grabi He is Andrés She is Lola We are Flamenco Kids In her nose two holes And her body full of electrons To switch on some lights And millions of bulbs Chorus I m Blieft You re Grabi He is Andrés She is Lola We re Flamenco Kids She illuminates toys Makes engines start And tickles us In our heart (2 x) We are Flamenco Kids
ENGLISH IS EASY The tide is already turning. The light is golden (like the life that shines). See if you can find the line of rocks and corals in the sea. Does anyone spot the Jalintro? Children: Over there!!!!! Where, where? Children: There!!!! Run across the sand, dress yourselves with water and salt because we re now going to enter the school. Good morning, Flamenco Kids Children: Good morning, teacher What are you inventing, blending, creating and debating? Children: Blieft is teaching us English. She says it s very funny and keeps repeating: It is easy, you see, To speak English Flamenco Kids It is easy, you see, To speak English Flamenco Kids (2 x) If you hear a sneeze And you jot down how it sounds You will find out that in the end In English it s the same, my friend. If you sneeze it s To sneeze If you cough it s To cough If you splash it s To splash Listen to the raindrops fall Bouncing back like rubber balls Let s try to conjugate, you all. I splash Yo salpico You splash Tu salpicas He splashes El salpica She splashes Ella salpica We splash Nosotros salpicamos You splash Vosotros salpicais They splash Ellos salpican Splash, splash, splash It s easy you see To speak English, Flamenco Kids (2 x) To clap, dear child, means to applaud Put your hands together or your paws And you ll hear a clap, clap We can now start to play If we do the clap, clap We ll have some fun, I m sure to say For our hands when they bang together Make a beautiful sound, and that is clever As it helps us when we sing aloud Do you dare conjugate, right now? I clap, You clap He claps She claps We clap You clap They clap To clap, to clap, to clap yo aplaudo tu aplaudes él aplaude ella aplaude nosotros aplaudimos vosotros aplaudís ellos aplauden It s easy you see to speak in english Flamenco Kids (2 x) And now it s your turn To find the meaning Hiccup means hiccough Crash, something breaks with a blow To slap is to smack To tap, what Andrés does Clip clap is a horse Click, click, snap your fingers To knock on the door, who s there? Step aside, for here comes Andrés. I splash Yo salpico You splash Tu salpicas He splashes él salpica She splashes Ella salpica We splash Nosotros salpicamos You splash Vosotros salpicáis They splash Ellos salpican I clap You clap He claps She claps We clap You clap They clap yo aplaudo tu aplaudes él aplaude ella aplaude nosotros aplaudimos vosotros aplaudís ellos aplauden It s easy you see to speak in english Flamenco Kids Well done my sweet children
FROM 1 TO 10 Andrés is the one who really knows about numbers. He learns them, so he can dance. Come on, you little rascals, shall we teach Blieft the numbers in Spanish? She can then show us how to count in other languages. Niños: Sí, yes, oui, jai. Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve, diez Great, and now in English In English? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten Alright, and now in French In French? Oui Un, Deux, Trois, Quatre, Cinq, Six, Sept, Huit, Neuf, Dix Excellent, and now in Japanese What do you mean, now in Japanese? jai ichi, ni, san, shi, go, roku, shichi, hachi, kyu, ju Very well, and how are you? Well, well, well, well, weeeeell
MULTIPLY I m going to tell you something you just won t believe. I was once small, too. When I was little My mum said to me Don t sit on the sand As we re going to dance And my dad asked me to ponder What s an even number? 2, 4, 6 And an odd number now 1, 3, 5 Come on, children, let s count. We finally know to count from one to ten We can also add up numbers, Subtract and multiply them And even find out That fifteen is odd And fourteen is even With the beat of our stance They don t stop to dance. chorus To multiply numbers You just add them up Trust your hands And the sum of the summands If they are the same The result you ve got ready Of how many ice-creams you ve eaten already. I multiply smiles Made of water and paper For three times two are six That s two plus two plus two I ll remember that well, will you? One two one two one two This is how Andrés counts To stay on his feet When he dances around. chorus To multiply numbers You just add them up Trust your hands And the sum of the summands If they are the same The result you ve got ready Of how many ice-creams you ve eaten already. (2 x) 6
THE DRAWING AND THE WORDS Look, there comes Lola. What does she carry? Let s see, let s see I can t make it out very well. Grabi, could you please lend me one of your glasses? She has pencil cases! And beach ball rackets! Now I do know how to draw With words imagine a path On which we can walk And I draw thistles Imagine gardenias or a whistle And the water for the flowers, And the water for the flowers Gently tickles my fins with showers, And my fins are arching up To play with you For the beach ball cup. Don t forget you must play Though maths is now here to stay You will surely find your way And I draw thistles Imagine gardenias or a whistle And the water for the flowers, And the water for the flowers Gently tickles my fins with showers, And my fins are arching up To play with you For the beach ball cup.
THE STUTTER Oh! She says she wants to play beach ball. Oh, you can t? You don t have beach ball rackets? It s true, you re toothless. And now what? Lola wants us to listen carefully and to try to guess which sound belongs to whom or what. Attention please. A tweet, tweet Bird A meow, meow Cat A woof, woof Dog A broom, broom And that s it, A car. Why? Why? Why? I don t understand why If I say to you tweet, tweet All you do is just repeat G u A u Tweet, tweet But without tone and trill How boring, no thrill That this is a bird, I already know, What did you think? No matter what you think. You first have to learn how to chirp, Before flying off like a bird. Say bird Bird Otherwise I m off-beat. Tweet, tweet A bird it will be If I say woof, woof Answer dog For the woof gives me trouble And I don t like to learn double. The onomatopoeia woof Is no answer to that proof It s only the double that causes me trouble And that s why tweet, tweet Is a bird, nice and sweet And woof, woof Is a dog, that s enough. I know it s not shhh It s the light, you see, That you shine on me I know it s neither meow Nor is it broom It s a cat And a car And that is the truth. chorus I know it s not woof But rather a dog Nor is it tweet, tweet I swear it wasn t me. And now let s repeat Light, cat, car, bird, dog This is how you learn a lot Light, cat, car, bird, dog Well, this is how I really learn In spite of my accent, no concern. I know it s not woof But rather a dog Nor is it tweet, tweet I swear it wasn t me. And now let s repeat Light, cat, car, bird, dog This is how you learn a lot Light, cat, car, bird, dog This is how you learn a lot Light, cat, car, bird, dog Well, this is how I really learn In spite of my accent, no concern. 9 JUANILLO THE SEA SNAIL Lola is very happy playing with you and she d like to tell you the latest tale she has written, the one about Juanillo, the sea snail. Juanillo, the sea snail, is a snail who doesn t put out its horns. But he does put them out underwater, because he says that he can swim. Juanillo is a land snail, and his friends are sea snails. His shell is circular, and the ones of his friends are triangular. Juanillo wants to live in a triangular shell, too. Will he ever find one? Juanillo is a snail Though he looks a little pale As underwater is where you ll find him Because he says that he can swim. Juanillo is a land snail Below the sea is where he sets sail With his friend, the sea snail And his circular shell. His friend s house, nevertheless Is triangular, what a mess For that s what he is looking for, A triangular shell, nothing less. Into an ice-cream cone he crawled To make himself a comfy home It felt like living in a dome Until the wobbly thing dissolved. A kind Red Indian once he met Who lend him his tipi, yes, you bet, But far too big was the Indian tent, So he said thanks and off he went. He began to feel quite ill Thinking hard gave him a chill He simply couldn t find that shell A triangle for him to dwell. And the sea snail to him said I m giving a party, you ll be glad, To find you a home, once and for all A triangular shell you can install. So they made a lot of lanterns Yellow cakes, all very modern And some hats with glittery things One for Juanillo, the size of kings. And on his circular shell, on top The pretty hat came to a stop As though it was a magic trick His home was solid as a brick. Oh, Juanillo, how good to see You re snug and happy as can be With your triangular new home Under the sea is where you roam. Surely, Don Pedro has helped them to make those hats!!!!
COLORIN Hmmmm. What would you like to do now, you little genius? We want to paint!!! Orséa, please sing us what Grabi showed you to teach us how to paint. Tran tran tran tran treiro Treiro treiro treiro tran chorus So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. Red and yellow, yellow and red Mixed together orange you get How tasty is that fruity meal Gives our mornings a happy feel. chorus So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. If you mix some red and blue If you mix some red and blue Purple is what there is due Its name sounds like a guitar band And like Flamenco, my dear friend. chorus So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. Blue and yellow, yellow and blue Merge to green, that s something new Just like the green of Orsea s rock When the tide turns at 5 o clock. So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. About the colours you have learnt And like great masters you can paint With your brushes and your heart Make lots of pictures, now let s start. So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. (2 x) Repeat So colourful and really quaint And we re mixing our colours Come on, let s paint. Repeat So colourful and really quaint
DANIEL S FANDANGOS Shhhh. Can you see the orange alga? Do you know who s hiding there? Daniel. He s hiding there cause he s very shy. It seems he wants to tell us something. Let s listen to him. I do my singing and my chant Below the water in the sand This way my friend, the clam Can listen, too, and that s no sham My friends they call me And always find me Below an alga in the sea, I do my singing For the shrimp And Grabi hears them, please don t frown Because he sees them only brown. Orange Oranges are orange I m telling you, my friend I need an alga to this end And orange, yes, it needs to be So I can stay with you, you see. Grey Grey in grey is not such fun Fill it with colours or just run Grey looks like Luis soul to me With light so dim you hardly see. Just vivid colours, please, for me. I do my singing and my chant Below the water in the sand This way my friend, the clam Can listen, too, and that s no sham My friends they call me And always find me Below an alga in the sea, I do my singing For the shrimp And Grabi hears them, please don t frown Because he sees them only brown.
LULLABY FOR CARLOS And now we re going to relax a little. Let s ask Luis to sing us one of granny Teresa s lullabies. Yes, Luis, please, please! Would you sing us the one that goes Oh, lulla, lullay, my child of gold, I sing to you from the depth of my soul. Oh, lulla, lullay, my child of gold I sing to you From the depth of my soul. And my love so true, Sleeps right beside you, Newborn child, Gracious face of alabaster Heavenly eyes that shine For with your smiles You make the dreams of mine. Dear child of my love! When flowers look at you they ll bring A thousand songs that they will sing. Lulla, lullay. Light of my life, You fill my days with blissful chimes. Oh, lulla, lullay, sweet lullaby! Morning star that shines so bright, Sleep peacefully all through the night, Go, sleep softly, gentle heart, And close your dreamy eyes With the softness of my voice, And the fairy moon above, With its light of golden blue, Through the window shines on you.
LULLABY FOR LUCAS And a last lullaby with a tremolo dedicated to all of you who are just discovering that growing up is real fun. Lullaby of my sweet child, Lullaby, my hope and joy Hidden among clouds no few Golden angels sing to you. My little sweetheart, fall asleep Snug in the softness of your bed, My purest love that all consoles Was made with tiny pieces of my soul. My king of kings, my love that stays, My morning sun of every day, As with your eyes so full of light Our dawns were made, shiny and bright. Oh, lullaby of my sweet child! Oh dear lullaby of mine! Cherubim rock you to sleep, And archangels spread out your sheet. And your eyes already close, Get peaceful rest and off you doze, With the moon shining above Snug in your bed, All cuddled up. Sweet dreams, Flamenco Kids
