4 Subject: Digital Enterprise Year 7: On a Scratch document (you may need to use the school computer to help you to do this), attempt the following challenges: Expected Create a new sprite that will say hello. Change the background also. Using your knowledge of inputs and outputs, get the sprite to ask the user for their name ( what is your name ). Embedded Complete the above task. You must also use your knowledge of variables to set up a variable called name. When you have asked the user for their name, you should then get the sprite to respond with name + that is a cool name. Exceptional Complete the above task and also get the sprite to ask the user for their age. You must then get the sprite to respond with age + that is a good age! If you can get the sprite to move using the arrows on the screen and then you may set up another sprite that follows the cursor around the screen. Match the French and English vocabulary. 3. Now translate the text into English. Top tip! Split the paragraphs into smaller chunks and translate them one sentence at a time. 1. Find the following words/phrases in French in the text. a) quite small b) pretty c) not much to do d) last weekend
8 e) it was raining f) it was cold g) to improve h) they should build i) more j) it would be 2. Now translate the text into English.
1. Find the antonyms of the words below in the text. Example: sud nord a) Antique b) Moderne c) Petit d) Terrible e) Silencieux 2. Compare the two towns, according to the text. Write R for Reims and M for Milton Keynes. a) Which town is older? b) Which town has more vineyards? c) Which town has a bigger shopping centre? d) Which town has the best public transport system? 3. Now translate the text into English.

Who ll grip and tackle the job unafraid? And who thinks he d rather sit tight? Who ll toe the line for the signal to Go!? Who ll give his country a hand? Who wants a turn to himself in the show? And who wants a seat in the stand? Who knows it won t be a picnic not much Yet eagerly shoulders a gun? Who would much rather come back with a crutch Than lie low and be out of the fun? Come along, lads but you ll come on all right For there s only one course to pursue, Your country is up to her neck in a fight, And she s looking and calling for you. Who'll earn the Empire's thanks Will you, my laddie? Who'll swell the victor's ranks Will you, my laddie? When that procession comes, Banners and rolling drums Who'll stand and bite his thumbs Will you, my laddie? Jessie Pope
