7 Station 5 Britain is different! Name: Task 1 Fatima lives in Berlin. Last weekend her parents took her to a rock concert at Wembley Stadium in London. Read Fatima s to her cousin in New York and underline or highlight the names of electrical devices (Elektrogeräte). Hi Ahmed, The concert at Wembley Stadium was super! We stayed at a local holiday apartment. Mrs Meadows, the owner, wanted to know what electrical devices we had. Dad had his electric shaver and his tablet computer with a recharger, Mum had a hairdryer r and an e-book reader with a recharger and we all had mobile phones with rechargers. Mrs Meadows gave us two adapters and asked us to use them. I didn t realize e that electric plugs and sockets in Britain were different. The plugs have three pins and the sockets s have three holes for the pins on the plug. Other things were different, too. In the bathroom and the kitchen there e were a tap for hot water and a tap for cold water. Even the front door was different: it had a letterbox. terbox This was an open slot in the door with a flap (Klappe)over it and every morning the postman came and delivered letters and leaflets. The front door also had a door handle on the outside. This was useful because we could sit and eat outside in the garden without taking a key with us. But we had to remember er to lock the door at night. Love, Fatima Task 2 Fill in the English names for these things under the illustrations
