10 The Canadian College of Performing Arts We have a quiet calm space available. You can leave the Performance Hall any time during the show to relax. The accessible washroom is in that room.

11 The Canadian College of Performing Arts These are your seats in the Performance Hall. You can stand up and move around any time during the performance. The house lights will stay on so you can see.

12 The show is 2 hours and 35 minutes long, including a 15 minute intermission. This is a picture of the stage where the actors will perform. It will look different when you come to see the show. The actors will introduce themselves before and after the show.

13 Stage Door is about group of women who live in New York and want to be actors. They all rent rooms in the same boarding house. Terry Randall returns to the boarding house with the news that she s booked an acting job after weeks of waiting to meet the producer. The rest of the women are getting ready to go out for the night. David Kingsley, a film producer, arrives at the house to meet Jean Maitland, another aspiring actor. Jean has broken a date with another man, Keith Burgess, a playwright, to go out with David instead, and Keith is upset when he arrives at the boarding house. Terry and Keith start up a conversation, and decide to go out for dinner together. A month later, Terry s job has ended after only four performances, but she and Jean Maitland have both had a successful film screen test, and an offer of a contract from a movie studio. Terry declines the job, beliving that film acting isn t real acting, and Jean moves out to Hollywood. A year later, Jean is a successful movie star, and Terry is scraping by with radio gigs, and in a relationship with Keith. Terry and her father go out for dinner with Keith so she can introduce them to each other. Keith has just sold a play he has written, but the producer won t cast Terry in the lead role.

14 Two months later, Keith s play is a success, but his relationship with Terry is in trouble. He has decided to move to Hollywood and write for films. Terry is relieved that the relatioship has ended. Film producer David Kingsley comes to offer Terry another job in Hollywood, which she refuses, again, but she does accept his offer to go out for dinner. Almost a year later again, Terry is working in a shop, and Jean has returned to New York to star in a stage play after a string of successful films. Keith, now a film writer, has returned to the boarding house to see Terry, and gets into an argument with David Kingsley about the difference between Hollywood and the theatre. Keith proposes to Terry, but she turns him down. A little while later, David comes to the boarding house in the middle of the night. He has brought film producer Adolph Gretzl to see Terry, in the hopes that she can replace Jean Maitland in Gretzl s play. Gretzl makes her audition on the spot, but, having had no time to prepare, she fails. David tells Gretzl he s making a mistake, and so Gretzl fires him. David buys the rights to Gretzl s play so he can produce it with Terry in the starring role.

15 Emily plays Olga Brandt. Olga is a classical pianist from Russia.

16 Isabella plays Mattie. Mattie is a maid at the Footlights Club boarding house.

17 Geri plays Mary Harper (Big Mary). Big Mary is an aspiring actor who lives at the Footlights Club. She loves to gossip.

18 Blanche plays Mary McCune (Little Mary). Little Mary lives at the Footlights Club and loves to gossip with Big Mary.

19 Rose plays Bernice Niemeyer. Bernice is an aspiring actor who lives at the Footlights Club. She is always hopeful that she will get her big break.

20 Emma McEvoy plays Madeleine Vauclain and Mrs. Shaw. Madeline is another aspiring actor at the Footlights Club. She likes to go out at night and party.

21 Emma Vickers plays Judith Canfield. Judith is another aspiring actor. She is cynical, but she likes to have fun.

22 Angela plays Ann Braddock. Ann is another aspiring actor. She is serious and a bit stand-offish with the other women.

23 Marissa plays Kaye Hamilton. Kaye is another aspiring actor. She ran away from her abusive husband to chase her dream, but she isn t very successful.

24 Annick plays Linda Shaw and Laura Westcott. Linda is another apsiring actor. She is having an affair with a married man.

25 Chelsea plays Jean Maitland. Jean moves away to Hollywood and becomes a movie star, then, a few years later, returns to New York to star in a play.

26 Mitya plays Bobby Melrose. Bobby is an aspiring actor who lives at the Footlights Club.

27 Courtney plays Louise Mitchell. Louise is an aspiring actor who moves away from New York to get married.

28 Alexa plays Pat Devine. Pat is a nightclub dancer who works late nights.

29 Alissa plays Terry Randall. Terry is an aspiring actor. She loves the theatre, and refuses to leave it to work in Hollywood instead.

30 Brenley plays Mrs. Orcutt. Mrs. Orcutt is the owner of the Footlights Club where all the women live. She used to be an actor when she was younger.

31 Jordan plays Fred Powell, Dr. Randall, and Billy. Fred is a lumber worker from Seattle here for a date. Dr. Randall is Terry s father. Billy is a movie press photographer.

32 Fernando plays Lou Milhauser and Adolph Gretzl. Lou is a lumber worker from Seattle here for a date. Adolph is a film producer who comes to New York to produce a play starring movie star Jean Maitland.

33 Pedro plays David Kingsley. David Kingsley is a movie producer who loves the theatre. He establishes a relationship with Terry.

34 Rylee plays Keith Burgess. Keith is a theatre writer who becomes successful and moves to Hollywood to write films. He dates Terry while living in New York.

35 Things to look out for: About the Show There will be music and sound effects played during the show. They will be coming from speakers stage left and stage right. There is yelling in the show, but the actors are not really angry with each other, they are acting. Sometimes the actors change costume offstage and come back on to play a different character.
