The intellectual excitement is palpable, as arguments around gender, marriage and family are turned upside down and inside out. Michael Shamata 90 minutes of emotionally complex, witty and well-paced magic literally and figuratively. EXAMINER.COM A surreal comedy about friends, real and imagined. Thai is sixteen. Her father has left and her mother finds solace at the bottom of a wine glass. Mustard, her imaginary friend, is still living under her bed and he doesn t want to leave her. Sandler won the 2016 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding New Play for this magical twisted fairy tale about love, desire and moving on. Kat Sandler is a young playwright with a unique voice, and Mustard is an unusual combination a sweet-natured comedy about the challenges life throws our way. MS

Heading through the Rockies for the Pacific, through the forests and along the rivers, he experiences changes inside and out. Floyd s journey is assisted by the wildlife he encounters especially the bears. Bears won two Elizabeth Sterling Haynes Awards in Edmonton for Outstanding Musical Score and Outstanding Choreography. I d never seen a piece that speaks to issues facing Canada s Indigenous peoples as effectively and beautifully as Bears does. JERRY SADDLEBACK, CREE ELDER AND DEAN OF CULTURAL STUDIES AT MASKWACÎS COLLEGE I want to showcase the work of one of our country s outstanding Indigenous theatre companies. This story is so theatrically bold with its chorus of female dancers. MS...funny, moving, altogether wonderful... A heartening reminder that a keen focus on life s small moments can pay off in a big way onstage. THE NEW YORK TIMES An intergenerational comedy about finding peace, love and understanding. New York. The middle of the night. Vera, an irascible, politically active 90-year old is awakened by her grandson Leo, who has cycled from Seattle on a trip with his best friend. In their month together, Vera and Leo bewilder each other, argue and connect as they discover the thin line between growing up and growing old. A finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize, Herzog s 4000 Miles is populated with beautifully drawn characters you ll fall in love with. Amy Herzog s writing is so exquisite, and this story is so simple and true and affecting, I have wanted to program it for years. Funny and recognizable it sneaks up on you, and before you know it you don t want to say goodbye to these people. MS
